Objectives. This study aimed to adapt the Motivation Scale for Participation in Physical Activity (MSPPA), originally developed by Demir and Cicioğlu, (2018) in Turkish, into English. The objective ...was to provide a reliable and valid tool for assessing motivation for physical activity in English-speaking populations. Materials and methods. The adaptation process involved two phases. Firstly, the MSPPA was translated from Turkish to English, back-translated, and reviewed by experts in sports science and translation. Secondly, data were collected from 224 school students in the Malappuram district, Kerala, India. The collected data were subjected to Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) to validate the scale’s factors. The reliability and construct validity were assessed using appropriate statistical methods. Results. The analysis of the collected data revealed three factors in the adapted MSPPA: “Individual Causes”, “Environmental Reasons”, and “Causelessness”, corresponding to intrinsic motivation, extrinsic motivation, and amotivation, respectively. The factors identified through EFA were confirmed via CFA. The scale demonstrated reliability and construct validity in assessing motivation for physical activity in English-speaking populations. Conclusions. The adapted MSPPA was found to provide a reliable and valid instrument for assessing motivation for participation in physical activity among English-speaking individuals. This adaptation has facilitated cross-cultural research and interventions aimed at promoting physical activity and its associated benefits.
A limited literature on mixed method research to reveal the effect of blended learning in physical education turn out to be a gap in this research. Therefore, our study aims to investigate the ...perceptions of teachers about the effects, effectiveness, and challenges of blended learning in physical education classes through mixed-methods research. This study adopted a mixed-methods type with a mixed methods research. There were 12 participants involved in this study, which included elementary school teachers (n=4) and high school teachers (n=4) from Indonesia and elementary school teachers (n=2) and high school teachers (n=2) from Malaysia. The qualitative instrument included in-depth interviews. While, the quantitative instrument used a questionnaire. The qualitative study used statistical analysis with qualitative thematic methods. Meanwhile, in the quantitative study, all responses from 12 analyses were to find the frequency and percentage values of each response. Based on the results of the qualitative study, the majority of teachers perceived that blended learning in physical education classes had a significant effect on the development of students' domains and it was effective to implement physical education learning in elementary schools and high schools. While, results of quantitative study show that the biggest challenges due to the implementation of blended learning in physical education were the lack of technological facilities (86.2%), lack of understanding of teachers and students (72.7%), poor internet connection (64.8%), and limited learning duration in offline classes (50.0%). Therefore, the results of this study are essential and must be evaluated continuously, so that the physical education learning process through blended learning in a sustainable manner can have a positive effect on students at all levels of education in Indonesia and Malaysia or other countries in the world.

test, ANOVA and post hoc statistics were used to analyse the research data. The study found that the mean exercise addiction score of the participants was (55.67 ± 20.83). Although addiction levels of the athletes with the lowest performance enhancement were significantly higher compared to other participants, no significant difference was found between gender and exercise addiction (

> 0.05). Consequently, in the study, it was related that the athletes with high levels of exercise addiction displayed poor performance in all branches of track and field. Addiction may stand out among the factors that have a negative impact on athlete performance.

Federasyonlarında spor yapan engelli sporcuların spora katılım motivasyonlarının
belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır. Nicel modelde desenlenen ...araştırmaya toplam
303 engelli sporcu katılmıştır. Araştırmada boyut toplam puanları bakımında
spora katılım motivasyonu en yüksek grubun bedensel engelli sporcular olduğu,
bunu görme engelli ve işitme engelli sporcuların izlediği tespit edilmiştir.
Milli olan sporcuların dış motivasyonlarının, milli olmayan sporculara göre
anlamlı olarak yüksek olduğu, yaş artıkça motivasyonsuzluğun anlamlı olarak
azaldığı, işitme engelli kadın sporcuların aynı engel grubu içerisinde hem iç
ve dış motivasyon puanlarına göre erkek sporcularda anlamlı olarak yüksek
motivasyona sahip oldukları, bedensel engelli sporcuların genel olarak spor
yapma güdülerinin fiziksel gelişim ile ilişkili olduğu, görme engelli
sporcuların iç motivasyon faktörleri arasında “sporun özgür hissettirmesi”
özelliğinin daha çok vurgulandığı, işitme engeli sporcularda ise diğer engel
gruplarındaki sporculara göre “motivasyonsuzluğun” ön plana çıktığı
belirlenmiştir.
This research intends to examine goal orientation and group cohesiveness levels of basketball players. 243 mature players who play in the leagues of Turkish Basketball Federation in 2016- 2017 season ...participated the study. “Task and Ego Orientation in Sports” and “Group Cohesiveness” questionnaires are used in study. While frequency, arithmetic mean and standard deviation is used for the analysis of data, T-Test, One-Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and Post-Hoc test statistics (Tukey HSD) are used for independent samples. Depending on the variables of gender and educational background of players, a significant difference is identified in sub-dimension of Task Attraction of Group and a low-level negatively significant difference is identified between Ego Orientation in terms of age and sportive age. Significant differences are identified between the Perception of Team Success and sub-dimensions of Social Integration of Group and Social Attraction of Group. No statistically significant difference can be found for the variable of time spent in team in terms of group cohesiveness and goal orientation.
In this study, the relationship between the academic procrastination and the students’ burnout levels was examined. 406 students from different departments at Gazi University Sports Sciences Faculty ...participated in the research. In order to collect data, the student version of Maslach’s Burnout Inventory and the Academic Procrastination Scale (APS) were used in the study. It was determined that the students at the faculty of sports science did not show any significant difference in terms of gender variable according to MBI-SF and APS. When analyzed in terms of department variable, there was a significant difference in the MBI-SF subscales, while no significance was observed in the total score of APS. Similar results were obtained in the APS total scores among the grades; but there was significance in the subscales of MBI-SF. The analyses indicated that a statistically significant negative relationship at medium level was found between the MBI-SF and APS. The results of the analyses also indicated that there was a statistically significant negative relationship between academic procrastination and student burnout levels.
Araştırmada bireysel ve takım sporu yapan sporcuların sosyal görünüş kaygısının sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutumunun belirleyicisi olup olmadığını ortaya koymak ve katılımcıların yaşı, cinsiyeti, ...branşına göre sosyal görünüş kaygısı ile sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutumunu incelemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırmaya 142 kadın, 174 erkek olmak üzere toplam 316 sporcu katılmıştır. Nicel araştırma modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmaya, 166’sı bireysel, 150’si takım sporcusu dahil edilmiştir. Araştırmada veri toplama aracı olarak, Sosyal Görünüş Kaygısı Ölçeği (SGKÖ)ve Sağlıklı Beslenmeye İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği (SBİTÖ) kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada pearson moment korelasyon testi, regresyon analizi, t-testi analizinden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırmada SGKÖ ile SBİTÖ arasında negatif yönde orta düzeyde anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Sosyal görünüş kaygısının, sporcuların sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutum puanlarını anlamlı olarak yordadığı görülmüştür. Ayrıca sporcuların yaşı ile SBİTÖ arasında pozitif yönde düşük düzeyde, SGKÖ arasında negatif yönde düşük düzeyde anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Cinsiyete göre, erkek sporcuların sosyal görünüş kaygısının kadın sporcuların sosyal görünüş kaygısından anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutum cinsiyete göre istatistiksel açıdan farklılık göstermemektedir. Bireysel branşlarda spor yapan erkeklerin sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutumunun, bireysel branşlarda spor yapan kadın sporcularınkinden anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç olarak, sosyal görünüş kaygısının sağlıklı beslenmeye ilişkin tutumun belirleyicisi olduğu, sosyal görünüş kaygısındaki artışın sağlıklı beslenme tutumunu negatif yönde etkilediği, erkek sporcuların dış görünüşe ilişkin kaygılarının daha yüksek olduğu ve bu doğrultuda sağlıklı beslenmeyi göz ardı ettikleri söylenebilir.
The present study aims to examine the anxiety to catch COVID-19 from the viewpoint of elite athletes and sedentaries based on different variables. The Individual Anxiety sub-dimension of the ...Athlete’s Anxiety to Catch the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) Scale was applied. According to the study results, athletes had lower levels of anxiety to catch COVID-19 compared to sedentaries. It was concluded that female participants had higher levels of anxiety compared to male participants. It was also determined that female elite athletes also had higher levels of anxiety compared to male elite athletes. When the anxiety to catch COVID-19 was examined by age group, it was observed that elite athletes under the age of 19 had significantly lower levels of individual anxiety compared to other age groups. Additionally, it was found that male elite athletes had lower levels of anxiety compared to male sedentaries.
Bu araştırmada profesyonel futbolcuların oyun içindeki mevkilerine ve antrenman yaşına göre kişilik özelliklerinin değerlendirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Nicel araştırma modelinin kullanıldığı araştırmaya ...Türkiye Futbol Federasyonu Profesyonel Ligi’nde (1., 2. ve 3. lig) oynayan 403 erkek futbolcu katılmıştır. Katılımcılara Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Beş Faktör Kişilik Ölçeği uygulanmıştır. Verilerin parametrik testlerin ön şartlarını sağlama durumunun tespitini belirmek amacıyla, futbolcuların mevkilerine göre normallik testi ve varyansların homojenliği incelenmiştir. Bunun için “Kolmogorov-Smirnov Testi” ve “Levene Testi” kullanılmıştır. Normal dağıldığı saptanan verilere parametrik testler uygulanmıştır. Bu bağlamda futbolcuların mevkileri ile kişilik özelliği arasındaki farklılığın tespit edilmesi için tek yönlü varyans analizi (ANOVA), Post-Hoc test istatistikleri (Tukey HSD) ve futbolcuların antrenman yaşı ile kişilik özelliği arasındaki ilişkinin tespiti için “Pearson Çarpım Moment Korelasyon Testi” kullanılmıştır. Araştırmada kalecilerin, orta saha oyuncularına göre nörotiklik puanlarının anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır. Orta saha oyuncularının deneyime açıklık puanlarının kaleci, forvet ve savunma oyuncularınınkinden anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu bulgulanmıştır. Ayrıca antrenman yaşı ile dışa dönüklük arasında negatif yönde düşük düzeyde; antrenman yaşı ile yumuşak başlılık, özdenetim, deneyime açıklık ve nörotiklik arasında ise pozitif yönde düşük düzeyde anlamlı ilişki tespit edilmiştir. Mevcut araştırmada futbolcuların mevkilerine ve antrenman yaşına göre kişilik özelliklerinin anlamlı farklılık gösterdiği sonucuna varılmıştır.
