ZnO/Graphene (G)/Graphene Oxide (GO)/Multi-walled Carbon Nanotube (MCNT) composite aerogels with a three-dimensional porous structure were prepared by the sol-gel method under average temperature and ...alkaline conditions, combined with freeze-drying process and heat treatment process. The photocatalytic degradation of Rhodamine B (RhB) was mainly studied. The scanning electron microscope (SEM) test results showed that the morphology uniformity of the ZnO/G/GO/MCNT composite aerogel was significantly enhanced, which effectively solving the agglomeration problem of MCNT and ZnO. The photocatalytic degradation test results of RhB show that due to the synergistic effect of physical adsorption and photocatalytic degradation, the total degradation efficiency of RhB by ZnO/G/GO/MCNT could reach 86.8%, which is 3.3 times higher than that of ZnO. In addition, the synergistic effect of ZnO and G effectively hinders the recombination of photo-generated electron-hole pairs and enhances photocatalytic activity. The ZnO/G/GO/MCNT composite aerogel can be applied in the visible light catalytic degradation of water pollution.
In the field of aerospace, deep space exploration is becoming more and more frequent, and the temperature deep in the universe is getting lower and lower. Specialized equipment for vibration ...monitoring of instruments under harsh conditions of ultralow temperature is scarce, and how to design a vibration sensor to solve the vibration monitoring in ultralow temperature environments is an urgent problem. In this article, we propose a novel testing methodology known as self-excited vibration resonance frequency test (SEVFT) of piezoelectric sheet in ultralow temperature, which contributes to the ultralow temperature survival verification of piezoelectric materials for ultralow temperature vibration sensors. The method proves that the PZT-7A piezoelectric material can work in ultralow temperature environments. The sensitivity of the ultralow temperature vibration sensor was obtained by vibration test as well as temperature test to be 5.08 mV/g. It can work normally at −197 °C-RT with small output signal noise. The ultralow temperature vibration sensor designed in this article has low cost and good low-temperature resistance. It can be widely used in structural health monitoring of instruments and equipment in ultralow temperature environments.
Abstract Identifying accurate biomarkers of cognitive decline is essential for advancing early diagnosis and prevention therapies in Alzheimer's disease. The Alzheimer's disease DREAM Challenge was ...designed as a computational crowdsourced project to benchmark the current state-of-the-art in predicting cognitive outcomes in Alzheimer's disease based on high dimensional, publicly available genetic and structural imaging data. This meta-analysis failed to identify a meaningful predictor developed from either data modality, suggesting that alternate approaches should be considered for prediction of cognitive performance.
The processing quality of indica rice must undergo ripening after harvest to achieve stability and improvement. However, the mechanism underlying this process remains incompletely elucidated. Starch, ...the predominant component in indica rice, plays a crucial role in determining its properties. This study focused on analyzing the rheological properties and starch fine structure, as well as the related biosynthetic enzymes of indica rice during the after-ripening process. The results showed that after-ripened rice exhibited increased elastic modulus (G′) and viscous modulus (G″), accompanied by a decrease in the loss tangent (Tan δ), indicating an enhancement in viscoelasticity and the gel network structure. Moreover, the proportions of amylopectin super long chains (DP 37–60) decreased, while those of medium chains (DP 13–24 and DP 25–36) or short chains (DP 6–12) of amylopectin increased. Additionally, the activities of starch branching enzyme (SBE) and starch debranching enzyme (DBE) declined over the after-ripening period. Pearson correlation analysis revealed that the rheological properties of after-ripened rice were correlated with the chain length distribution (CLD) of starch, which, in turn, was associated with its related endogenous enzymes. These findings provied new insights into understanding the quality changes of after-ripened indica rice.

Epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) exon 19 deletion is a major driver for the drug resistance of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Identification small inhibitor capable of selectively ...inhibiting EGFR-19del NSCLC is a desirable strategy to overcome drug resistance in NSCLC. This study aims to screen an inhibitor for EGFR exon 19 deletion cells and explore its underlying mechanism. High through-put screen was conducted to identify an inhibitor for EGFR-19del NSCLC cells. And tenovin-3 was identified as a selective inhibitor of PC9 cells, an EGFR-19del NSCLC cells. Tenovin-3 showed particular inhibition effect on PC9 cells proliferation through inducing apoptosis and ferroptosis. Mechanistically, tenovin-3 might induce the apoptosis and ferroptosis of PC9 cells through mitochondrial pathway, as indicated by the change of VDAC1 and cytochrome c (cyt c). And bioinformatics analyses showed that the expression levels of SLC7A11 and CPX4 were correlated with NSCLC patient's survival. Our findings provide evidences for tenovin-3 to be developed into a novel candidate agent for NSCLC with EGFR exon 19 deletion. Our study also suggests that inducing ferroptosis may be a therapeutic strategy for NSCLC with EGFR exon 19 deletion.
Rhizoma Coptidis (RC) is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) used for treating diabetes (Xiao Ke Zheng), which is firstly recorded in Shennong Bencao Jing. Modern pharmacological studies have ...confirmed that RC has beneficial effects on diabetes and its complications. Alkaloids are the main active pharmacological component of RC. However, the effect and molecular mechanism of total Rhizoma Coptidis alkaloids (TRCA) in improving diabetic nephropathy (DN) are still unclear.
To verify the effect of TRCA in the treatment of DN and clarify the molecular mechanism by combining network pharmacology and transcriptomic.
Eight-week-old db/db mice were orally administered with normal saline, 100 mg/kg TRCA, and 100 mg/kg berberine (BBR) for 8 weeks. Serum, urine, and kidney samples were collected to measure biological indicators and observe renal pathological changes. Then, the molecular mechanism of TRCA improving DN was predicted by the network pharmacology. Briefly, the main active alkaloids components of TRCA and their targets were collected from the database, as well as the potential targets of DN. Using the Cytoscape software to visualize the interactive network diagram of “ingredient-target”. The GO and KEGG pathways enrichment analysis of the core targets were executed by Metascape. Furthermore, RNA-seq was used to get whole transcriptomes from the kidneys of db/m mice, db/db mice, and db/db mice treated with TRCA. The key differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were gathered to conduct the GO and KEGG pathways enrichment analysis. Finally, the potential pathways were validated by western blotting.
The administration of BBR or TRCA for 8 weeks significantly reduced the fasting blood glucose (FBG) and body weight of db/db mice, and improved their renal function and lipid disorders. According to H&E, PAS, and Masson staining, both the BBR and TRCA could alleviate renal damage and fibrosis. The Venn diagram had shown that seven alkaloids ingredients collected from TRCA regulated 85 common targets merged in the TRCA and DN. The results of RNA-seq indicated that there are 121 potential targets for TRCA treatment on DN. Intriguingly, both the AGE-RAGE signaling pathway and the PI3k-Akt signaling pathway were included in the KEGG pathways enrichment results of network pharmacology and RNA-seq. Moreover, we verified that TRCA down-regulated the expression of related proteins in the AGEs-RAGE-TGFβ/Smad2 and PI3K-Akt pathways in the kidney tissues.
In summary, the renal protection of TRCA on DN may be related to activation of the AGEs-RAGE-TGFβ/Smad2 and PI3K-Akt signaling pathways.

A portable multi-channel surface plasmon resonance (SPR) biosensor device using prism-based wavelength interrogation is presented. LEDs were adopted as a simple and inexpensive light source, ...providing a stable spectrum bandwidth for the SPR system. The parallel light was obtained by a collimated unit and illuminated on the sensing chip at a specific angle. A simple, compact and cost-effective spectrometer part constituted of a series of lenses and a prism was designed for the collection of reflected light. Using the multi-channel microfluidic chip as the sensing component, spectral images of multiple tests could be acquired simultaneously, improving the signal processing and detection throughput. Different concentrations of sodium chloride aqueous solution were used to calibrate the device. The linear detection range was 4.32 × 10
refractive index units (RIU) and the limit of detection was 6.38 × 10
RIU. Finally, the performance of the miniaturized SPR system was evaluated by the detection of immunoglobulin G (IgG).
