A real-time wireless bus based on flooding and the capture effect is proposed to achieve highly reliable broadcast communication in a Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) working in harsh environments, in a ...multi-source-to-multisink topology, where multiple hops are required (Fig.). Different sources access the medium without colliding using network-wide predefined time slots and frequency channels. Frequency-, spatialand time-diversities are exploited using redundant retransmissions. Packet deliveries are latency-bounded, and messages are discarded after a predetermined time-to-live; in order to achieve an optimal trade-off between reliability, energy consumption and latency. Furthermore, long packet preambles are used to ease the synchronization requirements and favor the capture effect.

We demonstrate the performance of RedFixHop in ultra-low-latency multi-hop applications. A source node is connected to a sensing device. The sensed value is sent to a sink node through a flexible ...topology of relays. The sink node is connected to a display, where metrics of the sensor network (latency, reliability) are shown in real-time. The main goal is demonstrating the simplicity and seamless adaptation of RedFixHop to fast-changing scenarios, without introducing overhead or increasing the latency.
La implementación de la educación ambiental ha sido una exigencia para las Instituciones de
Educación Superior en el país; en respuesta a esta exigencia se han desarrollado Programas
Ambientales ...Institucionales. Debido a que esta implementación responde a exigencias de
organismos internacionales, más que a una preocupación local, los resultados esperados aún
no son claros. Aun así, la Educación Ambiental es una posibilidad para las Instituciones de
Educación Superior, porque permite asumir la responsabilidad de construir una ciudadanía
ambiental. Esta investigación es un antecedente a la propuesta de un Programa Ambiental
Institucional para la Universidad Simón Bolívar.
The implementation of environmental education has been a demand for higher education
institutions in the country, in response to this demand have been implemented Institutional
Environmental Programs. Because this implementation responds to proposals from
international organizations, rather than a local problem, the expected results are not yet
clear, and environmental education for environmental citizenship emerges as a possibility.
This study is background to the proposal for an Institutional Environmental Program for the
Simon Bolivar University.
