La productividad del rambután (Nephelium lappaceum L) está vinculada a su demanda nutricional, el conocer los momentos y lugares de mayor exigencia, le permite al productor mejorar la fertilización. ...Se evaluó la dinámica de microelementos esenciales y benéficos en diferentes edades y órganos del rambután. En el norte de Honduras, se estableció un experimento bajo un diseño completamente al azar con seis tratamientos (muestreo a los 2, 3, 4, 8, 10 y 17 años de establecido el cultivo) y tres repeticiones. En época de cosecha se procedió a recolectar hoja, rama, cáscara y semilla, para analizar las concentraciones de Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, B y Na. Los resultados muestran que la concentración de nutrientes difiere significativamente entre los órganos y edades de la planta, encontrando la mayor concentración de Mn, Fe y B en hojas, Zn y Cu se observó en semilla y Na en cáscara. La mayor concentración de los nutrientes en la planta (hoja + rama + cáscara + semilla) varió en el tiempo, acumulando más Fe, Zn y Na al inicio (3er y 4to año) de producción, para B fue en el cuarto y décimo año y, en el décimo año también se concentró más Mn y Cu. Además, el Mn (73 %) fue requerido en mayor cantidad, seguido de Fe (11 %), Na (6 %), B (5 %), Zn (3%) y Cu (2 %). Los nutrientes esenciales y benéficos variaron en los tejidos conforme a la edad de la planta, lo que permitió identificar cuáles elementos y en qué etapa y órgano vegetal tuvieron una mayor acumulación.

fertilization programs. Objective. To evaluate the content and distribution of macronutrients in different ages of the
rambutan crop. Materials and methods. An experiment was established in the Atlantic coast of Honduras under a
completely randomized design with six treatments (sampling at 2, 3, 4, 8, 10, and 17 years of establishment) and three
repetitions. The study was carried out between the months of March and December 2017. At harvest time, leaves,
branches, shells, and seeds were collected to analyze the concentrations of N, P, K, Ca, Mg, and S in each one. Results.
It was recorded that the macronutrient concentration differed significantly among the organs and ages of the plant,
finding the highest concentration of N, Ca, Mg, and S in leaves, P in seed and K in the shell. The total concentration
(leaf + branch + shell + seed) of the nutrients registered fluctuations over time and increased the demand for P, K, Ca,
and Mg in years 2 and 3, to then decline in years 8 and 10. While the demand for N and S were constant during the
development stages. In addition, N (41 %) was required in greater quantities, followed by K (24 %) and Ca (20 %)
and finally P (6 %), Mg (5 %) and S (4 %). Conclusion. The content and distribution of macronutrients were variable
according to the age of the plant, allowing the identification of which nutrients and when they were most required and
the plant organ where it was accumulated.
Introducción. La productividad del rambután depende de satisfacer su demanda nutricional a través del uso de
fertilizantes. Conocer la cantidad y momentos de mayor exigencia de nutrientes por la planta permite al productor
mejorar los programas de fertilización. Objetivo. Evaluar el contenido y distribución de macronutrientes en diferentes
edades del cultivo de rambután. Materiales y métodos. Se estableció un experimento en el litoral atlántico de
Honduras bajo un diseño completamente al azar con seis tratamientos (muestreo a los 2, 3, 4, 8, 10 y 17 años de
establecido) y tres repeticiones. El estudio se realizó entre los meses de marzo a diciembre de 2017. En época de
cosecha se hizo la recolección de hojas, ramas, cáscaras y semillas para analizar en cada uno las concentraciones de
N, P, K, Ca, Mg y S. Resultados. Se registró que la concentración de macronutrientes difirió significativamente entre
los órganos y edades de la planta, encontrando la mayor concentración de N, Ca, Mg y S en hojas, P en semilla y K
en la cáscara. La concentración total (hoja + rama + cáscara + semilla) de los nutrientes registró fluctuaciones en el
tiempo y aumentó la demanda de P, K, Ca y Mg en los años 2 y 3, para luego decaer en los años 8 y 10. Mientras que
la exigencia de N y S fue constante durante las etapas de desarrollo. Además, el N (41 %) fue requerido en mayor
cantidad, seguido por K (24 %) y Ca (20 %) y, por último, P (6 %), Mg (5 %) y S (4 %). Conclusión. El contenido
y distribución de los macronutrientes fue variable conforme a la edad de la planta, lo que permitió identificar cuales
nutrientes y en qué momento tuvieron una mayor exigencia y el órgano vegetal donde se acumuló.
The emission of nitrous oxide is considerable in livestock systems, influenced by nitrogen fertilization and edaphoclimatic conditions. The aim of the research was to measure the flux of nitrous ...oxide (N2O) from the soil under Urochloa brizantha with nitrogen fertilization. In the pastures, a randomized complete block design was established with four replicates and three treatments, consisting of 2 m2 plots with U. brizantha fertilized with urea, bokashi and without fertilizer application. The gas samples were collected over three months between the rainy and dry seasons using the static closed chamber methodology. The samples related to the soil and plants were taken at a depth of 15 cm under undisturbed conditions every month, to quantify: gravimetric moisture, ammonium, nitrate, total carbon, total nitrogen, carbon/nitrogen ratio, and plant dry matter (DM). The ANAVA registered a significant difference between treatments for N2O, with the application of urea promoting higher accumulated flows (0.37 mg N2O m-2 h-1), followed by bokashi (0.34 mg N2O m-2 h-1) and lastly by the control (0.27 mg N2O m-2 h-1). The daily emission of the gas fluctuated in the rainy season, when soil moisture promoted higher emission peaks compared to the dry season. The fractions of nitrogen, carbon and DM were not affected by the treatments. The use of urea and the anaerobic conditions of soil due to the rains generated higher N2O values, while the organic amendment, bokashi, was the best alternative for the greenhouse gas mitigation and soil conservation.
Introduction. Soil management practices in agroecosystems, such as the use of green manures (GM), positively affect greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Objective. The objective of the research was to ...evaluate CO2,CH4, and N2O emission of a soil cultivated with corn and soybean under the use of green fertilizers, fallow (B), and nitrogen fertilization. Materials and methods. Between July 2011 and June 2012, in a Typic Haplustert located in Valle del Cauca, Colombia, corn and soybeans were planted in a intervleaved manner, and the monocultures of corn and soybeans were managed in a conventional manner. The association between Mucuna pruriens var. utilis and maize was established as GM, ninety days after sowing, the total residues were incorporated as GM or disposed on the soil surface as organic mulch (AO). Eleven treatments were used under the design of randomized complete blocks, with 32 + 2 factorial arrangement, with three repetitions. The main plots were GM, AO and B. Each was divided into subplots corresponding to compost fertilization, industrial chemical synthesis fertilizer and no additions. In the flowering and grain filling stage of the crops, variables such as N2O, CH4, CO2 and total water-filled porosity were analyzed. Results. CO2 flow was higher in the intercrops added with GM/AO compared to monocultures. In the main plots, the use of industrial chemical synthesis fertilizers significantly stimulated N2O and CH4 fluxes. Conclusion. The use of high quality organic materials such as GM/AO did not ensure GHG sink soils in the short-term, since soil conditions and nitrogen fertilization significantly influenced emissions.
Introducción. Las prácticas de manejo del suelo en los agroecosistemas, como el uso de abonos verdes (AV), afectan positivamente las emisiones de los gases de efecto invernadero (GEI). Objetivo. El objetivo de la investigación fue evaluar la emisión de CO2, CH4 y N2O, de un suelo cultivado con maíz y soya, bajo el uso de abonos verdes, barbecho (B) y fertilización nitrogenada. Materiales y métodos. Entre julio de 2011 y junio de 2012, en un Typic Haplustert, ubicado en el Valle del Cauca, Colombia, se sembraron maíz y soya en forma intercalada y los monocultivos de maíz y soya, los dos últimos manejados de forma convencional. Se estableció como AV la asociación entre Mucuna pruriens var. utilis y maíz, noventa días después de la siembra, el total de los residuos se incorporaron como AV o se dispusieron sobre la superficie del suelo como acolchado orgánico (AO). Se utilizaron once tratamientos bajo el diseño de bloques completos al azar, con arreglo factorial 32 + 2, con tres repeticiones. Las parcelas principales las constituyó AV, AO y B. Cada una se dividió en subparcelas que correspondieron a la fertilización por compost, fertilizante de síntesis química industrial y ninguna adición. En la etapa de floración y llenado de grano de los cultivos se analizaron variables como el N2O, CH4, CO2 y porosidad total llena de agua. Resultados. El flujo CO2 fue mayor en los cultivos intercalados adicionados con AV/AO en comparación con los monocultivos. En las parcelas principales el uso de fertilizantes de síntesis química industrial estimuló significativamente los flujos de N2O y CH4. Conclusión. El uso de materiales orgánicos de alta calidad como AV/AO no aseguraron suelos sumideros de GEI a corto plazo, ya que las condiciones del suelo y la fertilización nitrogenada influyeron de forma significativa en las emisiones.
Los abonos verdes (AV) son frecuentemente utilizados en agroecosistemas para mejorar y/o restaurar la fertilidad del suelo. El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar la dinámica de nitrógeno (N) y ...carbono (C) del suelo en sistemas de maíz y soya bajo el efecto de AV residuales. En un Vertisol Typic Haplustert ubicado en el Valle del Cauca-Colombia se estableció la asociación Mucuna pruriens var. utilis--maíz (Zea mays), la cual 90 días después de la siembra fue incorporada al suelo como AV o se dispuso sobre la superficie del suelo como acolchado orgánico (AO). Posteriormente fueron sembrados los cultivos maíz-soya en forma intercalada para formar 11 tratamientos bajo el diseño de bloques completos al azar con arreglo factorial 3.sup.2 +2 y tres repeticiones. Las parcelas principales fueron AV, AO y barbecho (B). Las subparcelas correspondieron a la fertilización con compost, fertilizante de síntesis química industrial y cero fertilización (testigo). En forma paralela fueron sembrados como referentes los monocultivos de maíz y soya manejados de forma tradicional. En las etapa de floración y llenado de grano de los cultivos se midieron como variables en suelo: N total, amonio, nitrato, N-inorgánico total, carbono orgánico; y en tejido vegetal de maíz y soya: carbono y N. Los resultados mostraron que, la aplicación de materiales orgánicos de alta calidad, AV/AO, estimularon la mineralización del C y la dinámica de las diferentes fracciones de N en el suelo, sin cambios significativos en el contenido de estos elementos en el tejido vegetal del cultivo de maíz y soya.
The sustainable production of grains, such as corn, has a national and global priority in order to safeguard food security and the environment that have a controversy finding a balance between ...productivity and the generated pollution. This research evaluates the dynamics of N (nitrogen) in soil and plant. The objective of this research was to evaluate the effects that the use of organic fertilizers (OF) and conventional mineral fertilization (CMF) can provoke on the efficiency of N use in corn crops. The maize cultivation happened at the Atlantic Coastal Regional Center University (CURLA), Honduras, and the Tuxpeño corn variety was planted between the months of June to December of 2015. The experimental design consisted on random complete blocks with five treatments and four repetitions. They evaluated different crop phonological stages, in soil they evaluated: total N, ammonium, nitrate, temperature, and volumetric moisture; and in the plant they evaluated: N, dry grain yield, efficiency of nutrient use for N in terms of agronomic efficiency (AE), physiological efficiency (PE), and recovery efficiency (ER). The CMF and the OF generated relevant changes in the dynamics of N in soil and plant, mineral fertilization promoted a greater efficiency of nitrogen use in corn according to the indicators of: agronomic efficiency, recovery efficiency, and grain yield.
La producción sostenible de granos como el maíz es de prioridad nacional y mundial para salvaguardar la seguridad alimentaria y el ambiente, los cuales están en controversia por encontrar un equilibrio, la productividad versus la contaminación generada. El objetivo fue evaluar el efecto de abonos orgánicos (AO) y la fertilización mineral convencional (FQ) sobre la eficiencia de uso del N en el cultivo de maíz. En el Centro Universitario Regional del Litoral Atlántico (CURLA), Honduras, se sembró maíz variedad Tuxpeño, entre los meses de junio a diciembre del 2015. El diseño experimental fue de bloques completos al azar con cinco tratamientos y cuatro repeticiones. En diferentes etapas fenológicas del cultivo se evaluaron en el suelo: N total, amonio, nitrato, temperatura, humedad volumétrica; en la planta se evaluó: N, rendimiento en grano seco y la eficiencia de uso de nutrientes para N se evaluó en términos de la eficiencia agronómica (EA), eficiencia fisiológica (EF) y eficiencia de recuperación (ER). La FQ y los AO generaron cambios relevantes en la dinámica del N en suelo y planta, la fertilización mineral promovió una mayor eficiencia de uso de nitrógeno en maíz, a través de los indicadores de la eficiencia agronómica, la eficiencia de recuperación y el rendimiento de grano.
Calendula productivity depends on the nutritional demands of the crop. Knowledge of the nutritional requirements of calendula at its different phenological stages will allow the producer to improve ...fertilization programs. The objective of this research was to evaluate the content and distribution of essential micronutrients and beneficial elements in different organs and stages of development of calendula under field conditions. An experiment was set up in the municipality of Yumbo, in the Department of Valle del Cauca in Colombia, using a completely randomized design with five treatments related to the stage of development of the plants (2, 3, 5, 6 and 7 months after transplanting). Each treatment had three replicates. Leaves, stems, flowers and seeds were collected every month after transplanting to analyze the concentrations of Mn, Fe, Zn, Cu, B, and Na. The concentration of nutrients differed significantly between organs and stages of development. Calendula accumulated nutrients in descending order (from highest to lowest) as follows: Na>Fe>Mn>B>Zn>Cu. The highest concentrations of Na, Mn, Zn, B and Cu were found in the leaves and of Fe in the flowers. Among the phenological stages, the highest values of Na were recorded in the second and sixth months, B and Fe in the fifth month, Cu and Zn in the third month, and Mn in the third and fifth months. Thus, the stages and organs on the plant with the greatest nutrient accumulation were identified.
During the recycling of soil nitrogen, it is necessary to register the activity of nitrifying bacteria in nitrification. This process, in tropical conditions, is negatively affected by extreme ...variations in temperature, humidity, pH and organic matter during agronomic practices. Population changes of nitrifying bacteria in corn and soybean crops were evaluated under the use and management of green manure (GM). It was established as GM Mucuna pruriens var. utilis (CIAT No. 9349) - corn var. ICA 305. Ninety days later it was harvested and the residues were incorporated as LF or disposed on the soil surface as organic mulch (OM), the native weed Rottboellia cochinchinensis L. was managed as fallow (F). Then, corn-soybean crops were sown in an intercalated and monoculture system, each system was subject to organic fertilization (OF), chemical fertilization (CF) or no fertilization (NF). 11 treatments were structured under the design of Random Complete Blocks with 32 + 2 factorial arrangements with three repetitions. In the stage of blossoming and grain filling of the crops, the variables analyzed were; oxidizing bacteria of ammonium nitrate, volumetric humidity, temperature and yield. The populations of AOB and the production of NO3- did not vary significantly between treatments, but it did occur with soil temperature and humidity. The use of GM / OM promoted yields similar to those obtained with CF in corn, while in soybeans, when OM was added, yields exceeded CF.
Con el objetivo de evaluar el contenido y distribución de macronutrientes (N, P, K) en tallos, hojas, flores y semillas de caléndula (Calendula officinalis L.) en diferentes épocas de desarrollo se ...realizó el presente estudio en el municipio de Yumbo, departamento del Valle del Cauca, Colombia. Se estableció en un diseño completamente al azar un experimento con cinco tratamientos (muestreos a los 2, 3, 5, 6 y 7 meses después del trasplante (mdt)) con tres repeticiones, se analizó en los órganos vegetales el contenido de N, P y K en cada etapa de crecimiento. El análisis de varianza mostró diferencias significativas en los contenidos de N, P y K entre épocas y entre órganos vegetales. El nutriente con mayor demanda en todo el ciclo fue el K (197,40 g kg-1) seguido del N (130,53 g kg-1) y P (21,19 g kg-1 ); los mayores contenidos de N y P se localizaron en las flores y en los tallos el K. La mayor demanda P y K se registró en el segundo y tercer mdt y en el tercer y séptimo mdt se registraron las mayores demandas de N.
