This article aims to analyze higher education students' management and perception regarding using ChatGPT in their academic activities. To accomplish this, a descriptive study with a qualitative ...approach was employed to analyze the data obtained through a questionnaire administered to students from various majors at the Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. The instrument consisted of two sections with closed-ended questions and a Likert scale to measure the learners' perception. The results revealed that a minority of the respondents (33%) had used ChatGPT in their school practices. Additionally, it was found that a significant proportion (75%) did not consider the use of this tool suitable for their educational tasks, and a similar percentage (79%) did not perceive improvements in their research and data analysis skills. A low dependence on using this tool for school assignments was observed (4%), along with a lack of confidence in teachers' preparedness to effectively incorporate this technology into their classes (83%). In conclusion, educational institutions are recommended to carefully consider integrating artificial intelligence tools in didactic exercises, taking into account the concerns expressed by the students.
Currently, the evolution of wireless technologies has allowed researchers to design communication systems where vehicles are used as first entities to participate in the communication networks using ...the infrastructure present in cities. In this paper, the development of a new application under the Android operating system as an effort to improve road safety is presented. A new concept, such as Smart Cities includes intelligent traffic management in which data from the Traffic Information Centre infrastructures could be reachable at any point. The goal of this proposal is to manage the traffic lights from inside of the emergency vehicles (as ambulance, fire truck, etc.) in order to minimize the response time in case of an emergency, therefore, reducing the stop time in the intersections due to red lights. Presented in this work is the development of an application for the management of traffic lights, the objective is to provide the control to drivers over the traffic light in the emergency route. Finally we discuss the requirements for the real development of the application. This project obtained the best prototype award in the regional and national science fair in Mexico ExpoCiencias 2013 with which the project was prize winning to participate in the London International Youth Science 2014 (LIYSF).

La integración de las tecnologías de la información y la comunicación (TIC) en la labor docente es un tema vigente en los debates de investigación educativa. Este artículo tuvo como objetivo ...determinar las competencias en TIC del catedrático universitario en carreras del área de informática. La metodología empleada en este proyecto fue descriptiva, con un enfoque cualitativo. Se realizó una investigación de campo en la Facultad de Informática de la Universidad Autónoma de Sinaloa. Los datos se obtuvieron a través de encuestas aplicadas a 152 alumnos y 30 maestros de dicha institución. Entre los hallazgos se encontró que el profesor se muestra altamente preparado en el uso de las tecnologías, las que incorpora con frecuencia en sus actividades y en la evaluación de sus asignaturas; pero requiere reforzar su competencia en lo concerniente a la publicación de material didáctico propio y aprendizaje colaborativo mediante instrumentos como blogs y wikis, además de que manifiesta poco conocimiento en estrategias metodológicas propias para el trabajo en red.

El docente en este nuevo siglo está afrontando situaciones nuevas, incluso siempre cambiantes, poniéndolo de cara a tratar de superarse de manera constante en su labor profesional. El docente se debe de situar en un plano reflexivo sobre su actuación como maestro, buscar una educación constante acerca de su labor, buscando motivar el aprendizaje en los alumnos, usando técnicas y herramientas que considere convenientes para el avance pedagógico de los alumnos, ya que no solo los libros y el discurso del maestro son suficientes para lograr un verdadero aprendizaje de los discente.

In previous work we used data collected from studies of school career paths of graduates of Computer Science Faculty in Mazatlan city (FIM), of the Autonomous University of Sinaloa (UAS) in Mexico, ...to analyze and model those data with mathematical tools and discover information that allows an efficient and effective selection of candidates to enter university, through a prediction of the academic performance, decreasing the dropout rate and increasing the rate of discharge. Achieving an optimum selection of the students that get into the various options of careers that provides higher education in Mexico is one of the purposes of this study. Find the factors that influence the academic success of students and recent graduates is the main object of our research. The mathematical method of linear regression was applied through the SPSS software to analyze variables that influence the academic performance, among the factors studied are the gender, average high school, academic degree of the parents, income, marital status, previous High School score in the selection examination for admission to the university (Ceneval), among others, and discarding, according to the mathematical analyzes, those that do not affect the performance of the students. Resulting the average high school, gender, score in Ceneval and scores in Ceneval module in mathematics the most important variables. In this paper we present our mathematical model predictor of academic performance as the first step in order to develop a predictor software based in our mathematical model.

U današnje vrijeme razvoj bežične tehnologije omogućuje istraživačima razvijanje komunikacijskih sustava u kojima se vozila koriste kao osnovne jedinice u komunikacijskim mrežama primjenom ...infrastrukture koja postoji u gradovima. U ovom se radu predstavlja razvoj nove aplikacije u operativnom sustavu Android u svrhu poboljšanja sigurnosti na cestama. Novi koncept poput Smart Cities (pametni gradovi) uključuje inteligentno upravljanje prometom u kojemu bi u svakom trenutku bili na raspolaganju podaci iz Centra za obavijesti o prometu. Cilj je našeg prijedloga upravljanje semaforima iz vozila hitne pomoći (ambulantna, vatrogasna itd.) u hitnim slučajevima, dakle smanjivanje vremena zaustavljanja na križanjima zbog crvenih svjetala. U radu se predstavlja razvoj aplikacije za upravljanje semafora i cilj je osigurati vozačima upravljanje semaforima u hitnim slučajevima. Na kraju razmatramo što je sve potrebno za stvarni razvoj aplikacije. Ova je projekt dobio prvu nagradu za prototip na regionalnoj i nacionalnoj izložbi znanstvenih dostignuća ExpoCiencias 2013 u Meksiku što mu je omogućilo sudjelovanje na London International Youth Science 2014 (LIYSF).
BackgroundOne of the most severe complications in laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC) is intraoperative bile duct injury (BDI). Despite its low incidence, the medical implications for the patient can ...be serious. Besides, BDI can also generate significant legal issues in healthcare. Different techniques have been described to reduce the incidence of this complication, and near-infrared fluorescence cholangiography with indocyanine green (NIRFC-ICG) is one of the latest additions. In spite of the great interest aroused by this procedure, there are currently great disparities in the usage or administration protocols of ICG.Methods and analysisThis is a randomised, multicentre, per-protocol analysis, open clinical trial with four arms. The estimated duration of the trial is 12 months. The aim of the study is to analyse whether there are differences between the dose and administration ICG intervals to obtain good-quality NIRFC during LC. The primary outcome is the degree of identification of critical biliary structures during LC. In addition, different factors will be analysed that may have an influence on the results of this technique.Ethics and disseminationThe trial will be conducted according to the recommendations for Clinical Trials in the Declaration of Helsinki Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects and the recommendations of the Spanish Agency of Medicines and Medical Devices (AEMPs) for clinical trials. This trial was approved by the local institutional Ethics Committee and the AEMPs. This paper presents the detailed design, analysis, and application of the controller for a shunt active power filter based on a pulsewidth modulation dc-to-ac voltage source converter. The controller ...is mainly tailored to compensate harmonic currents of nonlinear loads connected to the mains. However, it can also achieve reactive-power compensation and mains-current balancing when required. The controller has a two-layer structure. The outer layer generates the current references for the inner layer. The former uses a plug-in discrete-time repetitive algorithm for current-harmonic compensation, a proportional-integral algorithm to maintain the dc-capacitor voltage in spite of unmodeled losses and a reactive-power-reference generator. The inner layer uses state-feedback with integral action for current control. The repetitive controller is justified to improve the tracking of the periodic current references required by the active filters. The stability of the resulting closed-loop system is studied and some indication of the system robustness is given. The proposed controller has been tested in a prototype with balanced and unbalanced nonlinear loads. A discrete-time model of the filter has been used from the beginning. The microcomputer delay when calculating the controller output and the delay due to the anti-aliasing filters have been included in the inner system state-variable model
•We identified the biomarkers most associated with organ failure in infection.•The combination of lipocalin-2, interleukin-15, triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1, angiopoietin-2 (Dys-4) ...score combined innate immunity and endothelial dysfunction biomarkers.•Dys-4 showed a greater impact on organ failure than individual biomarkers.•Dys-4 could help to detect and monitor organ failure in infection.
Identifying host response biomarkers implicated in the emergence of organ failure during infection is key to improving the early detection of this complication.
Twenty biomarkers of innate immunity, T-cell response, endothelial dysfunction, coagulation, and immunosuppression were profiled in 180 surgical patients with infections of diverse severity (IDS) and 53 with no infection (nIDS). Those better differentiating IDS/nIDS in the area under the curve were combined to test their association with the sequential organ failure assessment score by linear regression analysis in IDS. Results were validated in another IDS cohort of 174 patients.
C-reactive protein, procalcitonin, pentraxin-3, lipocalin-2 (LCN2), tumoral necrosis factor-α, angiopoietin-2, triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells-1 (TREM-1) and interleukin (IL)-15 yielded an area under the curve ≥0.75 to differentiate IDS from nIDS. The combination of LCN2, IL-15, TREM-1, angiopoietin-2 (Dys-4) showed the strongest association with sequential organ failure assessment score in IDS (adjusted regression coefficient; standard error; P): Dys-4 (3.55;0.44; <0.001), LCN2 (2.24; 0.28; <0.001), angiopoietin-2 (1.92; 0.33; <0.001), IL-15 (1.78; 0.40; <0.001), TREM-1(1.74; 0.46; <0.001), tumoral necrosis factor-α (1.60; 0.31; <0.001), pentraxin-3 (1.12; 0.18; <0.001), procalcitonin (0.85; 0.12; <0.001). Dys-4 provided similar results in the validation cohort.
There is a synergistic impact of innate immunity hyper-activation (LCN2, IL-15, TREM-1) and endothelial dysfunction (angiopoietin-2) on the magnitude of organ failure during infection.
