The ‘Workload’ sub-dimension of the job strain score was affected by young age, not having children, thinking that the working hours increased, deterioration of sleep quality and increasing anxiety level. It was determined that there was an increase in the “Control” sub-dimension score of family physicians who thought that they were not provided with adequate protective equipment during the pandemic process and who did not find the use of their own personal protective equipment sufficient. ‘Social support’ sub-dimension mean score decreased during the pandemic period. It was determined that it significantly increased in married family physicians compared to single ones. In the pandemic process, anxiety, sleep quality deterioration and job strain increased significantly. In family physicians, after the pandemic, workload and control sub-dimension changes increased, while social support sub-dimension decreased.

Aim: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the complaints of health workers after the use of masks.
Methods: Individuals who were actively working at the hospital and who agreed to participate in ...the study were included in the study. The questionnaire form was created by the researchers with respect to recent literature and was applied by the face-to-face inquiry method.
Results: The study included 1557 health workers. Experiencing at least one side effect related to the mask was reported to be 72.7% (n=1135). While systemic side 40% effects (n=625) were seen; local side effects concerning the nose were 67.3% (n=1051). The most common skin-related side effect was defined as acne 38.6% (n=603). The most common systemic side effect was dyspnea (37.5%; n=585). There was a relationship between having at least one side effect and the total mask load. In addition, there was a relationship between total mask load with systemic side effects and local effects.
Conclusion: The most common side effects were mostly local effects, and most of them were scar formation in the nose. A correlation was found between mask load and side effects, calculated by the type and duration of mask use.

Objective:
To determine the levels of COVID-19-related fear and to investigate fear-associated factors among older people.
Methods:
This study was conducted with patients aged 65 years and older from ...the Family Medicine Clinic of Health Sciences University Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Hospital over a 1-month period. A telephone survey was administered to evaluate patients’ sociodemographic data and knowledge level on the COVID-19 pandemic and the degree of its impact. The fear levels of participants were determined using the fear of COVID-19 scale (FCV-19 S). Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 15.0. A p value of < 0.05 was considered to be statistically significant.
Results:
The study included 315 participants: 178 were female and 137 were male. The mean age was 71.5 ± 5.6 (min: 65, max: 94) years, and 26 participants were living alone. Moreover, 47.6% participants considered they had sufficient information about the COVID-19 outbreak, and 61.6% received information about the pandemic from television and 22.2% from their inner circle. While 11.7% participants considered they would require psychological support after the COVID-19 pandemic, 30.8% had sleep disorders for the last month. The mean FCV-19 S score was 16.0 ± 6.4; the FCV-19 S scores were statistically higher in participants who were women, living alone, had partial information about the COVID-19 pandemic, had sleep disorders for the last month, and were in requirement of psychological support after the pandemic.
Conclusion:
It is necessary to screen the older people for the COVID-19-related fear and accompanying psychological disorders and to develop appropriate intervention programs for individuals at risk.

Aim: We aimed to investigate the relationship between fear of COVID-19 and smoking cessation success. Methods: The study is an observational analytic study. It was conducted prospectively and we ...included people who applied to the smoking cessation outpatient clinic between 01 Oct 2020 and 31 Oct 2020 and agreed to participate in the study. A questionnaire prepared by the researchers, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, and the Fagerström Test for Nicotine Dependence were applied to the participants. When necessary treatments had been initiated, a particular date is determined for each participant as a smoking cessation date. Participants were called in the 1st month and 3rd months from the smoking cessation day to enquire whether they quit smoking. Results: A total of 222 people participated in this study. The mean score of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale was calculated as 18.77±6.45. The success rate of smoking cessation in the 3rd month was 55% (n=122). No significant relationship was found between smoking cessation success and the score of the Fear of COVID-19 Scale. Conclusion: Although we cannot associate it with the fear of COVID-19 alone, we believe that the pandemic increases the success of early smoking cessation. BACKGROUNDThe 2019 coronavirus (COVID-19) has precipitated a significant public health crisis. Our study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and risk factors associated with adverse reactions to the ...inactivated CoronaVac vaccine.METHODSThe study involved voluntary health workers who received CoronaVac vaccine. We documented the sociodemographic information of 2,019 participants who volunteered for our study. Of these, 1,964 and 1,702 participants were interviewed by phone 1 month after the first and second dose, respectively, during which they were queried about any adverse reactions.RESULTSWithin the first week after the first dose, adverse reactions were observed in 856 (43.3%) participants, with 133 (6.7%) experiencing them during the second week, and 96 (4.9%) people at the end of the first month. For the second dose, 276 individuals (16.2%) reported adverse reactions. The prevalence of both local and systemic adverse events ranged from 9.5-11.2% overall. Fatigue was the most common adverse reaction overall, while pain at the injection site was the most frequent local adverse reaction.CONCLUSIONSThe evaluation of both systemic and local side effects revealed no significant adverse reactions to the inactivated CoronaVac vaccine (Sinovac Life Sciences, Beijing, China). Our study found that the incidence of systemic and local adverse responses to the CoronaVac vaccination was lower than the rates reported in studies involving the recombinant adenovirus type-5, BNT162b1, and ChAdOx1nCoV-19 COVID-19 vaccines, all of which underwent the World Health Organization LULUC/PQ evaluation process.
The safety of vaccines, access to health care, the level of community's knowledge and the attention of physicians play a critical role in the rate of adult vaccination. This study aims to determine ...the immunization rate of pneumococcal, influenza and tetanus vaccines among the patients and their knowledge and attitudes in the hospital. The study is a cross-sectional point prevalence survey. The patients who agreed to participate in the study were interviewed using a questionnaire. Patients' gender, occupation, educational status, income level and risk factors (immunosuppressed and over 65 years old) were compared with the knowledge and attitudes about vaccinations. Of the 251 participants, 51.4% were female and 48.6% were male. The self-reported vaccination rate was 3.5% for pneumococcal, 8.6% for influenza and 26.6% for tetanus. Most of the patients have knowledge about influenza vaccination (90.3%). Patients with the high education level have significantly higher knowlege about tetanus vaccination and higher rate of tetanus vaccine compared to those with low education level (p = 0.04; p = 0.006). It was found that those with higher income levels had the more pneumococcal vaccination, more knowledge on tetanus vaccination, and more attitude that tetanus vaccine is necessary compared to those with lower income level (p < 0.05). Patients without risk factors have a higher rate of tetanus vaccination compared to those with risk factors (p < 0.001). It was inferred that the high level of education and income have a positive effect on the patients vaccination rates and their knowledge and attitude.
Purpose Adult vaccination, which is among the duties of family physicians, is an important issue that reduces morbidity and mortality. In this study, it was aimed to evaluate knowledge, attitudes, ...and behaviors of adults about adult vaccines. Materials and Methods This study is a descriptive, cross-sectional research; which was performed by a questionnaire including sociodemographic data and questions about adult vaccination to the patients and their relatives who applied to Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital Family Medicine Polyclinics for any reason. Mean, standard deviation and chi-square tests were used for the analysis; p<0.05 was considered significant. Results The study included 182 people, 93 of them were women (51.1%) and 89 (48.9%) were men. The mean age was 32.9±12.8 years; most of them (n=144, 79.1%) were high educated and 38.5% were married. The most known vaccine was tetanus (n=154, 84.6%), the least known was zona vaccine (n=30, 16.5%). Health care professionals and television (n=60, 33%) were the most information sources about vaccines (n=78, 42.9%). Vaccination was mostly (26.9%) recommended by family physicians 144 (79.1%). The students had more knowledge about human papilloma virus (HPV), zoster, and measles, mumps, and rubella vaccines (p≤0.05), and mostly the information was got from internet and school (p≤0.05). As education status increased, knowledge about tetanus, hepatitis A, pneumonia, and HPV vaccines increased significantly, whereas only tetanus vaccination was performed in practice (p≤0.05). As the income increased, knowledge about pneumonia and HPV vaccines increased, but vaccination was not performed as expected. Conclusion Age, occupation, education, and income level are directly related to knowledge and attitudes about adult vaccination. Adult vaccines are still not known and performed enough in Turkey. It is important to encourage and increase the number of trainings via media on this subject.
Introduction: During Covid-19 pandemic, many hospitals closed their outpatient clinics because of the high number of inpatients and individuals turned to their family physicians for medical care. In ...this study, we aimed to evaluate the opinions of family physicians regarding examination phobia and telemedicine video examinations during the pandemic.
Methods: This was a single-centered, cross-sectional study. The participating physicians completed a questionnaire with 28 questions including their sociodemographic data, whether they performed examination during the pandemic, telemedicine knowledge and opinions on telemedicine. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 20 software package and statistical significance was set at p<0.05.
Results: 364 family physicians participated in our study and 163 of them (44.8%) reported hesitation while examining patients, with the majority (53.8%; n=196) expressing anxiety about oropharyngeal examinations. 211 of them (58%) reported having knowledge of telemedicine. The majority of family physicians thought that follow-ups and prescriptions for chronic diseases, repeat prescriptions, and post-treatment control examinations could be performed online whereas pregnant, postpartum, infant, and child follow-ups could not. While 40% (n=146) didn’t want to provide services via video/telephone examination, 32.7% (n=119) wanted to and 27.2% (n=99) undecided. 86.8% (n=316) of them believed that telemedicine video/telephone examination could result in legal problems. Participants estimated that less than 25% of their daily patients were suitable for telemedicine, and that less than 25% had access to the necessary technology. However, 55.8% (n=203) of family physicians believed that patients would be interested in telemedicine, and 59.6% (n=216) thought that providing such services would increase their workload. Being undecided about providing services through telemedicine was more common among women (p=0.029), while unwillingness to provide online services increased with age and years of occupation (p=0.024, p=0.004, respectively).
Conclusion: Telemedicine, which has come to the forefront with the development of technology today, was seen as an opportunity to reduce contact with patients during the pandemic. However, our study found that family physicians believed that telemedicine services would increase their workload and that a large portion of society was not ready for this system.

Giriş: Covid-19 pandemisinde birçok hastane yatan hasta yoğunluğundan polikliniklerini kapatmış ve bireyler tıbbi gereksinimleri için aile hekimlerine yönelmiştir. Bu çalışmada, pandemi sürecinde aile hekimlerinin muayene fobisi ve online görüntülü muayene hakkındaki görüşlerini değerlendirmeyi amaçladık.
Yöntem: Bu çalışma, tek merkezli ve kesitsel nitelikte bir çalışmadır. Hekimlere sosyodemografik verilerinin değerlendirildiği sorular ile tarafımızca hazırlanan pandemide muayene durumları ile online muayene hakkında bilgi durumu ve hekimlerin online muayene hakkında görüşlerini sorgulayan 28 sorudan oluşan bilgi formu uygulandı. p<0,05 istatistiksel olarak anlamlı kabul edilerek, istatistiksel analizde SPSS 20 paket programı kullanıldı.
Bulgular: Çalışmaya 364 aile hekimi katılmış ve bunların 163'ü (%44,8) hastaları muayene ederken çekindiğini belirtirken, en çok orofarinks muayenesinden çekindiklerini belirtmişlerdi (%53,8; n=196). Çalışmamıza katılan aile hekimlerinin %58 (n=211)’i online muayeneyi bildiğini ifade etmiştir. Aile hekimlerinin çoğunluğu kronik hastalıkların takip ve reçetelerinin, reçete tekrarlarının ve tedavi sonrası kontrol muayenelerinin online muayene üzerinden yapılabileceğini, gebe, lohusa, bebek ve çocuk takiplerinin ise yapılamayacağını düşünmekteydi. Aile hekimlerinin pandemi sürecinde %40(n=146) online muayene ile hizmet vermek istemezken; %32,7 (n=119)istemekte, %27,2 (n=99)’u kararsızdı. Aile Hekimlerinin %86.8 (n=316)’i online muayenenin hukuksal sorunlara yol açabileceğini düşünmektedir. Katılımcılar günlük hastalarının %25’inden azının online muayeneye uygun olduğunu ve kullanabilecek imkanların %25’inden azının sahip olduğunu düşünmekteydi. Ancak yine de Aile Hekimlerinin %55,8’i (n=203) hastaların buna ilgi göstereceğini ve %59,6’sı (n=216) iş yükünü arttıracağı fikrindeydi. Online muayene yoluyla hizmet sunma konusunda kararsız olma kadınlar arasında daha yaygınken (p=0,029), online hizmet sunma konusundaki isteksizlik yaş ve meslek yılı ile artmaktadır (sırasıyla p=0,024, p=0,004). Pandemi döneminde hasta muayene etme fobisi bulunan aile hekimleri online muayene hizmeti vermeye daha istekliydi (p=0,007). Ancak koruyucu ekipman kullanımına dikkat etme ile online muayene hizmeti sunma arasında anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmamıştır (p=0,069).
Sonuç: Günümüzde teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte ön plana çıkan online muayene, pandemi döneminde hastalarla teması azaltmak için bir fırsat olarak görülmüştür. Ancak çalışmamız, aile hekimlerinin online muayenenin iş yüklerini artıracağına inandıklarını ve toplumun büyük bir kısmının bu sisteme hazır olmadığını ortaya koydu.

This study aims to evaluate the use of alternative and complementary therapies and conception status of women receiving infertility treatment. A total of 349 patients who applied to the infertility ...department of Medipol University and Private Nisa Hospital between October 1st and November 30th, 2020 were included in the study on their consent in participating in the research.
