Häuslichkeit, Haus, Wohnen - diese Begriffe artikulieren das so genannte Private, seinen privilegierten Ort, seine Atmosphären und Befindlichkeiten. Das Häusliche gilt oft als Raum des unpolitisch ...Eigenen und Individuellen. Tatsächlich sind jedoch Wohnung und Haus seit jeher Territorien von Regulierungstechniken, Erziehungsstrategien, emotionalen Bindungen und Arbeitsbeziehungen. Die Beiträge dieses Irene Nierhaus gewidmeten Bandes beziehen sich auf ein Denken des Wohn/Raums als in diesem Sinne komplexe und flexible Struktur, in der sich Subjektivität, Geschlecht, Nation und Gemeinschaft konstituieren. We propose a comprehensive account of both the distribution and the interpretation of German focus particles such as nur, auch and sogar ('only', 'also', 'even'). We argue that they always adjoin to ...non-arguments (in recent terms this means that they can adjoin to VPs, IPs, APs and root CPs, but never to argument DPs or argument CPs), and that they do not undergo LF raising. Presenting a range of mostly new data and observations, we show how this theory accounts for a variety of puzzling distributional facts about adverbial and ad-adjectival particles, in particular, their specific interpretations and their behavior with respect to scope and reconstruction.
Abstract Since the introduction to the Swiss market in 1997, Crucell (former Berna Biotech Ltd.), has sold over 41 million doses worldwide of the virosomal adjuvanted influenza vaccine, Inflexal® V. ...Since 1992, 29 company sponsored clinical studies investigating the efficacy and safety of Inflexal® V have been completed in which 3920 subjects participated. During its decade on the market, Inflexal® V has shown an excellent tolerability profile due to its biocompatibility and purity. The vaccine contains no thiomersal or formaldehyde and its purity is reflected in the low ovalbumin content. By mimicking natural infection, the vaccine is highly efficacious. Inflexal® V is the only adjuvanted influenza vaccine licensed for all age groups and shows a good immunogenicity in both healthy and immunocompromised elderly, adults and children. This review presents and discusses the experience with Inflexal® V during the past decade.

and are analysed by RT-qPCR. To allow simultaneous analysis of these age markers, a multiplex assay was developed in the present study. After reverse transcription, the markers are analysed simultaneously in an endpoint PCR and subsequently separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE). This method is highly attractive due to its quick and easy procedure and interpretation. The present age prediction tool was adapted and validated. The multiplex PCR assay reproduced the same expression profiles as the RT-qPCR assay based on the same markers. The statistical evaluation shows that the new assay has a lower precision but a better trueness for age determination compared to the RT-qPCR assay. This paper investigates coordination in Sign Language of the Netherlands (NGT). We offer an account for a typologically unusual coordination pattern found in this language. We show that the conjuncts ...of a coordinated structure in NGT may violate a constraint governing coordinated structures in spoken languages, which we refer to as the 'Parallel Structure Constraint'. The violation consists in asymmetric fronting in the second conjunct of a coordinated structure. We argue that a violation of the Parallel Structure Constraint is acceptable in NGT in order to express a contrast across the conjuncts. Hence asymmetric reordering in the second conjunct is a strategy that allows signers to obtain the desired strength of marking when in situ marking is insufficient.

Common nutrition-associated diseases like obesity and type 2 diabetes are linked to chronic low-grade inflammation. The secreted glycopeptide wingless-type mouse mammary tumor virus integration site ...family member 5a (wnt5a) has been implicated in metabolic inflammation in rodent models, suggesting a potential treatment target. Data on the role of wnt5a in human physiology have yielded conflicting results.
Serum concentrations of wnt5a were measured in a cross-sectional cohort of 896 people to gain deeper insights into wnt5a physiology.
Serum concentrations of wnt5a were measured by ELISA and related to several phenotyping and genotyping data. In vitro experiments were performed in THP-1 macrophages to examine potential molecular mechanisms.
Wnt5a levels were significantly positively correlated to IL-6 and triglyceride levels. In subjects with diabetes, wnt5a levels were elevated and significantly correlated with fasting plasma glucose concentrations. Although wnt5a levels were not influenced by common single-nucleotide polymorphisms in the human wnt5a gene, environmental factors significantly altered wnt5a concentrations, as follows: (1) wnt5a levels were reduced in subjects with high nutritional load of the long-chain eicosatetraenoic acid independent of the total caloric intake and overall composition of the macronutrients, and (2) wnt5a levels were lower in humans with a high gut microbiome α diversity. In vitro experiments revealed that stimulation of the IL-6 receptor or the long-chain fatty acid receptor GPR40 directly affected wnt5a expression in human macrophages.
Our data suggest that wnt5a is important in linking inflammation to metabolism. The nutrition and the microbiome might be interesting targets to prevent and/or treat wnt5a-mediated metabolic inflammation.
The present article introduces a theory of (morpho-) syntactic focus marking on nominal categories in Bura, a Central Chadic SVO language spoken in the northeast of Nigeria. Our central claim is that ...the particle an plays a crucial role in the marking of subject and non-subject focus. We put forward a uniform analysis of an as a focus copula that selects for syntactic predicates of type <e,t> and a focused constituent of type . This uniform semantic representation is transparently mapped onto different syntactic structures: In a clause with a focused subject, the focus copula appears between the subject in SpecTP and the predicative VP. On the other hand, syntactically focused non-subjects are fronted and appear in a bi-clausal cleft structure that contains the focus copula and a relative cleft-remnant. The non-uniform analysis of focus marking is further supported by the structure of predicative constructions, in which the focus copula separates the focused subject and the adjectival or nominal predicate. It is also shown that alternative unified analyses fail to account for the full range of Bura data. The latter part of the article provides an analysis of the Bura cleft construction. Based on syntactic and semantic evidence, we come to the conclusion that the clefted constituent is base-generated in its initial surface position, and that an empty operator moves within the relative clause. The article concludes with a brief discussion of the potential conceptual reasons behind the observed subject/non-subject asymmetry in Bura.
