This research aimed at finding out types of reading strategies and the dominant reading strategies used by the fourth semester students of English Education Study Program in Muhammadiyah University. ...The subject of this research was all fourth semester students of English Education Study Program in academic year 2018/2019. This research used descriptive quantitative method in the form of survey. The data were collected by using the questionnaire as the instrument. The result shows that the fourth semester students of English Education Study Program in Muhammadiyah University used the four reading strategies in reading: cognitive, metacognitive, compensation, and testing strategies. The dominant reading strategy was metacognitive strategy. Among the four strategies, metacognitive strategies (3.2) were the most frequent strategies used by the fourth semester students. It was followed by testing strategies with average score (3.0), compensation strategies with average score (2.9), and finally cognitive strategies with average score (2.8). The four reading strategies were categorized in moderate level. It can be concluded that the students were using the four reading strategies quite well, and they used metacognitive strategy mostly when they do a reading activity in the classroom, such as thinking about the learning process, planning for learning, monitoring the learning task, and evaluating how well one has learned.
This research aims to describe the acculturation of Islam and local culture in the tradition of animal slaughter at funeral ceremonies preserved by the Padang Bolak community, as part of the ...religious system reflecting the community's understanding of the Hadith. This study is a field study employing a qualitative method within the framework of living Hadith theory. The research findings indicate that this tradition of animal slaughter at funeral ceremonies in the community is motivated by several factors, including efforts to preserve customs and culture, as an act of devotion to parents, the deceased's will to conduct an animal slaughter before passing away, to honor guests, maintain the good name of the deceased parents within the community, as an expression of love for parents, and the belief that the merits of charity performed on that day will benefit the deceased. In Islamic legal studies, this tradition is fundamentally contradictory to Islamic teachings in all its processes and requirements. The acculturation of Islam with this tradition has led to modifications that eliminate elements conflicting with Islamic teachings. Further studies are needed on how such modifications can aid in understanding and potentially guiding the process of cultural adaptation in other Islamic communities. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan akulturasi Islam dan budaya lokal dalam tradisi penyembelihan hewan pada upacara pemakaman yang dipertahankan oleh komunitas Padang Bolak, sebagai bagian dari sistem religius yang mencerminkan pemahaman masyarakat tentang Hadits. Studi ini adalah studi lapangan yang menggunakan metode kualitatif dalam kerangka teori Hadits hidup. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi penyembelihan hewan pada upacara pemakaman di komunitas tersebut didorong oleh beberapa faktor, termasuk upaya untuk melestarikan adat dan budaya, sebagai tindakan pengabdian kepada orang tua, keinginan almarhum untuk melakukan penyembelihan hewan sebelum meninggal, untuk menghormati tamu, mempertahankan nama baik orang tua yang telah meninggal di dalam komunitas, sebagai ungkapan cinta kepada orang tua, dan keyakinan bahwa pahala amal yang dilakukan pada hari itu akan menguntungkan almarhum. Dalam studi hukum Islam, tradisi ini secara mendasar bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam dalam semua proses dan persyaratannya. Akulturasi Islam dengan tradisi ini telah mengarah pada modifikasi yang menghilangkan elemen-elemen yang bertentangan dengan ajaran Islam. Studi lebih lanjut diperlukan tentang bagaimana modifikasi tersebut dapat membantu dalam memahami dan berpotensi mengarahkan proses adaptasi budaya di komunitas Islam lainnya.
Community participation at the time of the North Sumatera Governor Election is a very important aspect so that the General Election Commission uses a special strategy to increase public participation ...in the Gubernur Pemilihan of North Sumatera. The nature of this research is descrptive. The result of the research shows that the strategy of North Sumatera Provincial Election Commission in increasing the society participation in Sumatera Governor Election 2018 is seen from three stages namely the formulation stage shows there is clarity of socialization plan. The stage of action selection shows the implementation of sosialization to the voters segment with the methode of socialization third stage of resource allocation namely by doing technical guidance to the committee. The constraints experienced by the Election Commission of North Sumatera Province is located on the allocation of human resources is very limited in the region.
Masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah rendahnya kemampuan Vo2max peserta sanggar senam studio nachatib. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengtahui seberapa besar pengaruh latihan senam aerobik terhadap ...peningkatan Vo2max pada peserta sanggar senam studio nachatib. Penelitian ini adalah praeksperimen.Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling, teknik pengambilan sampel tidak brdasarkan random, daerah atau strata, melainkan dengan adanya pertimbangan yang terfokus pada tujuan tertentu, maka jumlah sampel dalam penelitan adalah 5 orang peserta dengan ketentuan usia 19-20 dan 21-30 tahun. Instrument pada penelitian ini adalah menggunakan bleeptest dan teknik analisis data menggunakan uji t dependend sampel melalui uji persyaratan.Berdasarkan analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan uji t, hasil ini dibuktikan dengan perbandingan hasil hitung rata–rata pada uji t kelompok pretest dan posttest (25,16< 27, 56) nilai thitung3, 87 >ttabel 2,13. Dan terdapat peningkatan hasil kemampuan antara pretest dan posttestsebesar 2,40, artinya penerapan latihan senam aerobik memberikan pengaruh terhadap peningkatan Vo2max pada peserta sanggar senam studio nachatib di masanew normal.

Tujuan; mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas ...ekstrak daun mangga (Mangifera foetida L) dengan ekstrak daun pepaya (Carica papaya) dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans. Metode; penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dengan desain posttest only control group in vitro. Analisis yang digunakan adalah Oneway ANOVA. Hasil; menunjukkan dari rata-rata diameter hambat ekstrak daun mangga 50% terhadap pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans adalah 13,16 ± 0,27, dan rata-rata diameter hambat ekstrak daun pepaya 50% terhadap pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans adalah 9,18 ± 0,23. Kesimpulan; bahwa terdapat perbedaan keefektifan ekstrak daun mangga cincang dan ekstrak daun pepaya terhadap Streptococcus mutans
Pendahuluan; streptococcus mutans merupakan bakteri patogen utama penyebab karies, pengobatan karies dapat dilakukan secara tradisional dengan tanaman obat, antara lain sereh dan jahe. Tujuan; ...mengetahui perbandingan efektivitas ekstrak daun serai wangi dengan ekstrak jahe terhadap Streptococcus mutans. Metode; penelitian eksperimental metabolik dengan desain posttest-only control group design. Pengumpulan data dengan mengukur diameter zona hambat menggunakan kaliper geser. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji ANOVA satu arah. Hasil; menunjukkan bahwa diameter hambat rata-rata ekstrak serai wangi 20% adalah 12,00 ± 0,23, dan ekstrak jahe 20% adalah 9,00 ± 0,27 dalam menghambat pertumbuhan Streptococcus mutans, sedangkan kontrol negatif (DMSO) tidak terdapat hambatan. Kesimpulan bahwa terdapat perbedaan efektifitas ekstrak serai wangi (Cymbopogon nardus) 20% dan temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza) 20% dalam menghambat pertumbuhan mutan Streptococcus.
The purpose of this study was to describe the types of technique used by lecturer in teaching English Islamic vocabulary and to know the reasons of technique used by lecturer in teaching English ...Islamic vocabulary in 2021/2022 academic year in 1st semester. The study used descriptive qualitative research. The data obtained to answer the types of techniques was based on observation and the data to answer the reasons of techniques was interview transcription. Data were analyzed by data reduction, data display and data verification. The data from the observations were analyzed and the data from the interviews were transcribed. The results was there are three types of techniques used by lecturer in teaching English Islamic vocabulary. They are visual technique (using picture), verbal technique (meaning definition, translation, and memorization), and technique of teaching (repetition drill). There are some reasons used by lecturer in teaching English Islamic vocabulary among them are saving time, to make student happy and not bored, gives long term memory retention to the learners etc.
This study aims to determine the percentage of errors produced by students according to Kastolan theory, the error's location, and the factors contributing to those errors when doing Mathematic. The ...study used the descriptive qualitative method. Based on the Kastolan theory, this study attempts to describe student errors in resolving mathematical problems. In this study, the instrument is a written test. The results showed that the conceptual error in question 1 was 71%, the procedural error was 67%, and the technical error was 65%. In question 2, there are 69% conceptual errors, 55% procedural errors, and 48% technical errors. While the conceptual error is 63%, the procedural error is 57%, and the technical error is 47% in question number 3. As a result, it showed that students' most common errors are conceptual. Students make mistakes when solving problems in the Two-variable Linear Equation System for a variety of reasons, including 1) lack of understanding of the questions given, leading to confusion in solving problems; 2) lack of caution in calculations, leading to incorrect results; 3) lack of ability to change the form of the problem into a mathematical model, and 4) lack of knowledge of the steps in solving the problem.

The data is taken from questionnaire that consists of 15 questions with 4-level Likert Scale, labelled by strongly disagree, disagree, agree, and strongly agree to find out students perspective on online language learning and from interview sheets.. The result of this research is EFL College students have negative perspective on online language learning during Covid-19 pandemic. The reasons why they have negative perspective were they have so many obstacle during online class, the understanding of material is also weak, the English improvement isn’t significantly increase and they are don’t agree that online class should be continued to be carried out.
Kosmetik halal merupakan suatu produk yang dimanfaatkan untuk menjaga penampilan dengan syarat bahan-bahan kosmetik tidak mengandung najis dan tidak berbahaya, serta diproduksi dengan baik. ...Sertifikasi label halal merupakan hak konsumen, dengan adanya kepastian kehalalan kosmetik konsumen dapat merasa aman dan tidak hawatir terhadap kosmetik yang digunakannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh gambaran dan informasi tentang kesadaran wanita dewasa terhadap peran sertifikasi label halal. Penelitian ini merupakan studi cross-sectional terhadap 100 orang konsumen kosmetik berlabel halal dan berusia 20-44 tahun. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa sertifikasi label halal pada produk kosmetik berpengaruh secara positif namun pengaruhnya belum signifikan. Hal ini memberikan implikasi bahwasanya untuk meningkatkan kesadaran para konsumen dalam menggunakan produk kosmestik yang halal, perlu ditingkatkan literasi produk halal. Penelitian ini memberikan rekomendasi kepada seluruh stakeholder untum memperhatikan kehalalan produk yang beredar ditengah masyarakat agar masyarakat tenang dalam mengkonsumsinya
