We present the Red Cluster Sequence Lensing Survey (RCSLenS), an application of the methods developed for the Canada–France–Hawaii Telescope Lensing Survey (CFHTLenS) to the ∼785 deg2, multi-band ...imaging data of the Red-sequence Cluster Survey 2. This project represents the largest public, sub-arcsecond seeing, multi-band survey to date that is suited for weak gravitational lensing measurements. With a careful assessment of systematic errors in shape measurements and photometric redshifts, we extend the use of this data set to allow cross-correlation analyses between weak lensing observables and other data sets. We describe the imaging data, the data reduction, masking, multi-colour photometry, photometric redshifts, shape measurements, tests for systematic errors, and a blinding scheme to allow for more objective measurements. In total, we analyse 761 pointings with r-band coverage, which constitutes our lensing sample. Residual large-scale B-mode systematics prevent the use of this shear catalogue for cosmic shear science. The effective number density of lensing sources over an unmasked area of 571.7 deg2 and down to a magnitude limit of r ∼ 24.5 is 8.1 galaxies per arcmin2 (weighted: 5.5 arcmin−2) distributed over 14 patches on the sky. Photometric redshifts based on four-band griz data are available for 513 pointings covering an unmasked area of 383.5 deg2. We present weak lensing mass reconstructions of some example clusters as well as the full survey representing the largest areas that have been mapped in this way. All our data products are publicly available through Canadian Astronomy Data Centre at http://www.cadc-ccda.hia-iha.nrc-cnrc.gc.ca/en/community/rcslens/query.html in a format very similar to the CFHTLenS data release.

In this research, template synthesis and crystal structure of a new HgLI2 complex are presented (L=N1-(4-nitrobenzylidene)-N2-(2-((E)-(4-nitrobenzylidene)amino)ethyl)ethane-1,2-diamine). The mercury complex crystallizes in the triclinic system with space group of P1¯. The crystal structure of the complex shows a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry around the mercury(II) center; including two I and an N atoms of Schiff base ligand in equatorial plane and two iminic N atoms in axial positions. Two five membered mercury containing rings Hg(–N–C–C–N–) are found in the structure. Some C–H⋯O, N⋯O and π⋯π intermolecular interactions causes a supra-molecular network in the solid-state. In addition to crystal structure analysis, density functional theory (DFT) study at the B3LYP/LanL2DZ level of theory has been also performed on the structure. Thereafter some theoretical structural and spectral data were compared with experimental results. Furthermore, total energy levels of HOMO and LUMO orbitals, molecular electrostatic potential, Mullikan atomic charges, thermodynamic and polarizability properties of the complex were calculated. Finally the mercury complex was prepared in nano-structure size confirmed by SEM and XRD analyses. The particles size of the titled complex was evaluated under 40nm based on Sherrer’s formula.
Organic-inorganic nanocomposite coatings were prepared from tetraethylorthosilicate and 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) by sol-gel method. These ormosil films were deposited by dip coating ...on aluminium alloy 5083. The effect of the concentration of GPTMS on the adhesion, mechanical and corrosion performance of coated samples was investigated. Adhesive strength of sol-gel coatings to the substrate was evaluated using pull-off and tape tests. Bending, impact resistance, pencil scratch and potentiodynamic polarisation tests were employed to characterise mechanical and corrosion performance of coated substrates with different GPTMS content. The chemical composition and the microstructure of the hybrid films were studied by attenuated total reflectance-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy respectively. The results indicate that the hybrid films had good mechanical properties, and the coating with minimum organic content had minimum corrosion current density, but the corrosion current density did not have any specific trend with an increased organic content.
Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) is a process that a solid is formed on a substrate by the chemical reaction in the vapor phase. Employing this technology, a wide range of materials, including ceramic ...nanocomposite coatings, dielectrics, and single crystalline silicon materials, can be coated on a variety of substrates. Among the factors influencing the design of a CVD system are the dimensions or geometry of the substrate, substrate temperature, chemical composition of the substrate, type of the deposition process, the temperature within the chamber, purity of the target material, and the economics of the production. Three major phenomena of surface reaction (kinetic), diffusion or mass transfer reaction, and desorption reaction are involved during the CVD process. Thermodynamically, CVD technology requires high temperatures and low pressures in most systems. Under such conditions, the Gibbs free energy of the chemical system quickly reaches its lowest value, resulting in the production of solids. The kinetic control of the CVD technology should always be used at low temperatures, and the diffusion control should be done at high temperatures. The coating in the CVD technology is deposited in the temperature range of 900–1400 °C. Overall, it is shown here that by controlling the temperature of the chamber and the purity of the precursors, together with the control of the flow rate of the precursors into the chamber, it is possible to partially control the deposition rate and the microstructure of the ceramic coatings during the CVD process.
Assistive device equipment can improve the performance of sit-to-stand (STS), standing, and walking of people with lower limb disability. The motorized assistive device is usually expensive and the ...use of another assistive device also makes an excessive force in the upper and lower extremity during (STS) transfer, which is not desirable for patients. In addition, only a few number of the non-motorized assistive devices that support all three phases; namely, sit-to-stand, standing, and walking are available. Consequently, improving and creating the new technology seems essential in this case. In this paper, the design procedure of saddle-assistive device is described in order to make use of the linear actuator in (STS) transfer and walk. Experimental results orientation of the shoulder during (STS) was recorded in the lab. Then, based on this analysis and simulation, saddle-assistive devices(S-AD) were designed and prototyped. Function prototype of the (S-AD) was done in the lab on a healthy person in (STS) and walking and then was compared with (STS) in normal mode. It is proposed due to the integration of the three phases in one device. Other advantages are force reduction on lower limbs, creating conditions of stability, and independence for patients with lower limb disability.
IntroductionAutism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is characterized by impairments in social interaction and restricted interests. It has been reported that oxytocin may improve processing of social cues and ...emotions in adults with ASD.ObjectivesThe aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic effects and safety of intranasal oxytocin in this population.MethodsThirty-nine patients with ASD were randomly assigned to two groups: one group received intranasal oxytocin and the other group received a placebo, with 24 units administered every 12 hours for 8 weeks. The patients were evaluated using the Autism Quotient (AQ), Ritvo Autism Asperger Diagnostic Scale – Revised (RAADS-R), Social Responsiveness Scale (SRS), Clinical Global Impression (CGI), and World Health Organization Quality of Life-BREF (WHOQL-BREF) questionnaires at weeks 0, 4, and 8.ResultsThe intervention group showed clinical improvements in RAADS-R (P=0.010), social communication subscale of SRS (P=0.002), CGI (P=0.000), physical (P=0.004), psychological (P=0.006), and social relationships (P=0.046) domains of WHOQL-BREF. Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer worldwide. The high expenses associated with chemotherapy as well as its side effects make the management of breast cancer a daunting challenge. The most ...common overexpressed gene in breast cancer is cyclinD1, which induces cell proliferation. Recent investigations into cancer treatment have revealed that curcumin demonstrates potential anti-cancer properties through different pathways. However, the oral bioavailability of curcumin is negligible due to its high hydrophobic structure. Nanotechnology has been employed to overcome this barrier. Nano-formulated curcumin (SinaCurcumin
) has been shown to provide a significantly higher bioavailability for oral consumption. However, the efficacy of this nano-formulated drug in breast cancer has not yet been determined. In relation to the breast cancer cell line, the present study compared nano-curcumin's anti-cancer properties with those of cyclophosphamide, adriamycin, and 5-fluorouracil (CAF).
After treating MCF7 with nano-curcumin and CAF, the present work assessed cell viability via an MTT assay. The effects of these drugs on cyclinD1 expression were measured by real-time PCR. SPSS 16.0 was used to perform ANOVA and multiple range tests.
Nano-curcumin and the CAF regimen both lowered the viability of MCF7. Nano-curcumin decreased cell proliferation by 83.6%, which was more than that achieved by cyclophosphamide (63.31%), adriamycin (70.75%), and 5-fluorouracil (75.04%). In addition, curcumin was able to significantly reduce the expression of cyclinD1, whereas CAF did not alter cyclinD1 expression.
Nano-curcumin has a relatively high cytotoxic effect on MCF7 breast cancer cells, suppressing the expression of cyclinD1, a critical gene in the development and metastasis of breast cancer. The current study demonstrated that nano-curcumin can be an effective drug in the CAF regimen for the treatment of breast cancer. However, further in vivo research is needed for determining its efficacy and safety in clinical applications.
Introduction: Planning and management of water resource and river basins needs use of conceptual hydrologic models which play a significant role in predicting basins response to different climatic ...and meteorological processes. Evaluating watershed response through mathematical hydrologic models requires finding a set of parameter values of the model which provides thebest fit between observed and estimated hydrographs in a procedure called calibration. Asmanual calibration is tedious, time consuming and requires personal experience, automaticcalibration methods make application of more significant CRR models which are based onusing a systematic search procedure to find good parameter sets in terms of at least oneobjective function. Materials and Methods: Conceptual hydrologic models play a significant role inpredicting a basin’s response to different climatic and meteorological processes within natural systems. However, these models require a number of estimated parameters. Model calibration is the procedure of adjusting the parametervalues until the model predictions match the observed data. Manual calibration of high-fidelity hydrologic (simulation) models is tedious, time consuming and sometimesimpractical, especially when the number of parameters islarge. Moreover, the high degrees of nonlinearity involved in different hydrologic processes and non-uniqueness ofinverse-type calibration problems make it difficult to find asingle set of parameter values. In this research, the conceptual HEC-HMS model is integrated with the Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm.The HEC-HMS model was developed as areplacement for HEC-1, which has long been considered as astandard model for hydrologic simulation. Most of thehydrologic models employed in HEC-HMS are event-basedmodels simulating a single storm requiring the specificationof all conditions at the beginning of the simulation. The soil moistureaccounting model in the HEC-HMS is the onlycontinuous model that simulates both wet and dry weatherbehavior.Programming of HEC –HMS has been done by MATLAB and techniques such as elite mutation and creating confusion have been used in order to strengthen the algorithm and improve the results. The event-based HEC-HMS model simulatesthe precipitation-runoff process for each set of parameter values generated by PSO. Turbulentand elitism with mutation are also employed to deal with PSO premature convergence. The integrated PSO-HMS model is tested on the Kardeh dam basin located in the Khorasan Razavi province. Results and Discussion: Input parameters of hydrologic models are seldomknown with certainty. Therefore, they are not capable ofdescribing the exact hydrologic processes. Input data andstructural uncertainties related to scale and approximationsin system processes are different sources of uncertainty thatmake it difficult to model exact hydrologic phenomena.In automatic calibration, the parameter values dependon the objective function of the search or optimization algorithm.In characterizing a runoff hydrograph, threecharacteristics of time-to-peak, peak of discharge and totalrunoff volume are of the most importance. It is thereforeimportant that we simulate and observe hydrographs matchas much as possible in terms of those characteristics. Calibration was carried out in single objective cases. Model calibration in single-objective approach with regard to the objective function in the event of NASH and RMSE were conducted separately.The results indicated that the capability of the model was calibrated to an acceptable level of events. Continuing calibration results were evaluated by four different criteria.Finally, to validate the model parameters with those obtained from the calibration, tests perfomed indicated poor results. Although, based on the calibration and verification of individual events one event remains, suggesting set is a possible parameter. Conclusion: All events were evaluated by validations and the results show that the performance model is not desirable. The results emphasized the impossibility of obtaining unique parameters for a basin. This method of solution, because of non-single solutions of calibration, could be helpful as an inverse problem that could limit the number of candidates. The above analysis revealed the existence of differentparameter sets that can altogether simulate verificationevents quite well, which shows the non-uniqueness featureof the calibration problem under study. However, the methodologyhas benefited from that feature by finding newparameter intervals that should be fine-tuned further inorder to decrease input and model prediction uncertainties.The proposed methodology performed well in the automatedcalibration of an event-based hydrologic model;however, the authors are aware of a drawback of the presentedanalysis – this undertakingwas not a completely fair validationprocedure. It is because validation events represent possiblefuture scenarios and thus are not available at the time ofmodel calibration. Hence, an event being selected as a validationevent should not be used to receive any morefeedback for adjusting parameter values and ranges.However,this remark was not fully taken into consideration, mostlybecause of being seriously short of enough observed eventsin this calibration study. Therefore, the proposed methodology,although sound and useful, should be validated inother case studies with more observed flood events.
