CREPT (Cell‐cycle‐related and expression‐elevated protein in tumor)/RPRD1B, a novel protein that enhances the transcription of Cyclin D1 to promote cell proliferation during tumorigenesis, was ...demonstrated highly expressed in most of tumors. However, it remains unclear how CREPT is regulated in colorectal cancers. In this study, we report that miR‐383 negatively regulates CREPT expression. We observed that CREPT was up‐regulated but the expression of miR‐383 was down regulated in both colon cancer cell lines and colon tumor tissues. Intriguingly, we found that enforced expression of miR‐383 inhibited the expression of CREPT at both the mRNA and protein level. Using a luciferase reporter, we showed that miR‐383 targeted the 3′‐UTR of CREPT mRNA directly. Consistently we observed that over expression of miR‐383 shortened the half‐life of CREPT mRNA in varieties of colorectal cancer cells. Furthermore, restoration of miR‐383 inhibited cell growth and colony formation of colon cancer cells accompanied by inhibition of expression of CREPT and related downstream genes. Finally, we demonstrated that stable over expression of miR‐383 in colon cancer cells decreased the growth of the tumors. Our results revealed that the abundant expression of CREPT in colorectal cancers is attributed to the decreased level of miR‐383. This study shed a new light on the potential therapeutic therapy strategy for colorectal cancers using introduced miRNA.

Moreover, the integral area of cyclic voltammetry curve reaches the maximum when the mass ratio of PAN/PMMA is 20:3. The specific capacitance of it is 102F/g and 84F/g, in case of the current density at 0.1A/g and 0.2A/g, respectively.
We systematically investigate the ground-state magnetic properties of Ga8−xMnxAs8 clusters (x=0, 2, 4, 6, and 8) within the framework of density functional theory (DFT) using a strategy that ...successively adopts the particle swarm optimization (CALYPSO) code and fixed spin-moment (FSM) method. The results show that for Ga8−xMnxAs8 in the ground states or low-lying isomers, Mn atoms tend to assemble at the core of the clusters and the ferrimagnetic Mn–Mn couplings are identified for Ga8−xMnxAs8 (x=4, 6, and 8), while Ga8As8 and Ga6Mn2As8 are nonmagnetic. The possibility of multiple ground states of Ga8−xMnxAs8 (x=4, 6, and 8) is also demonstrated. The binding energy and LUMO–HOMO gap analysis show that Ga8−xMnxAs8 clusters with large x are more likely synthesized and exhibit stronger chemical reactivity.

A novel series of Zr1−xZnxP2O7 (x=0.00, 0.03, 0.06, 0.1) was prepared by a solid state reaction method. XRD patterns indicated that all the samples exhibited a single cubic phase structure except ...Zr0.9Zn0.1P2O7. The conduction behavior was investigated using various electrochemical methods including ac impedance spectroscopy, isotope effect, gas concentration cells etc. in the temperature range of 300–600°C. The conductivities were affected by the doping levels, and increased in the order: σ (x=0.00)<σ (x=0.03)<σ (x=0.1)<σ (x=0.06). Zr0.94Zn0.06P2O7 exhibited the highest conductivities of 1.85×10−4S·cm−1 in wet hydrogen and 1.02×10−4S·cm−1 in dry air at 600°C. Isotope effect confirmed the proton conduction of the samples under water vapor-containing atmosphere. It was found that the ceramic samples were mixed conductors of oxide ionic and electron hole in dry oxygen-containing atmosphere. Whereas the ceramic samples were almost pure ionic conductors, and the ionic conduction was mainly contributed to proton and partially to oxide ionic in wet hydrogen atmosphere.

•At least two stable conformers of sulfur mustard coexist in experiment.•Anharmonic correction improve the agreement of theoretical and experimental results.•Obvious different THz ...spectra can distinguish sulfur mustard from its analogue.
The structural and vibrational analysis of sulfur mustard was performed using second order Møller-Plesset and density functional theory with harmonic and anharmonic force field calculations. The extension to anharmonic calculations provides better agreement between the theoretical vibrational wavenumbers and reported experimental results. At least two conformers co-exist in the experiment is approved by two levels of theory. Based on these possible conformations, most of the relative difference between theoretical and experiment data is less than 1%. The vibrational frequencies were assigned on the basis of potential energy distribution calculation. Furthermore, the terahertz spectrum of sulfur mustard in gas phase was simulated, as well as that of its analogue 2-chloroethylethyl sulfide for comparison.
Lentinula edodes C91-3 is an edible mushroom that has demonstrated a remarkable anti-tumor effect in various cancer cells both in vitro and in vivo. In the present study, we report the ability of ...recombinant thioredoxin-like latcripin 11 (LP-11) of Lentinula edodes C91-3 to suppress the proliferation of various cancer cells. The LP-11 gene of Lentinula edodes C91-3 was cloned in the pET-32a(+) expression vector and expressed in a prokaryotic system. The expressed protein was refolded by gradual dialysis and purified by affinity gel filtration chromatography. The antioxidant activity of LP-11 was tested by 1,1-dipheny l-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) assay. The anti-tumor activity of recombinant LP-11 was tested in eight kinds of tumor cell lines by CCK-8 assay. Recombinant LP-11 significantly suppressed the proliferation of various cancer cells, but not normal human umbilical vein endothelial cells. Human lymphoma U937 cells exhibited the most sensitivity to LP-11 protein. U937 cell apoptosis was assessed by Annexin V staining coupled with flow cytometry, and mitochondrial morphology was analyzed by light and electron microscopy. It was revealed that recombinant LP-11 induced apoptosis in human leukemic monocyte lymphoma U937 cells. Our findings suggest that recombinant LP-11 is a promising agent for the treatment of lymphoma.

The authors propose a model based on multichannel compact bilinear pooling to rank pair candidates in a document. The proposed model firstly extracts the emotion-specific and cause-specific ...representation containing position information via graph attention network, then further learns the local relation representation between emotion clause and cause clause through the local relation-aware module. Finally, these representations are fused via multichannel compact bilinear pooling to learn the emotion-cause pairs representation for effective ranking. Experimental results show that the proposed approach achieves the best performance among all compared approaches on the task.
This paper describes the design and synthesis of a benzothiazole-based fluorescent probe (H1) for zinc and cadmium ion detection and discrimination, using cysteine as an auxiliary reagent. Among the ...various metal ions tested, zinc and cadmium ions induced blue-shifted emissions of probe H1 from 573 nm to 520 nm and 540 nm, respectively. The addition of cysteine caused the emission of H1-Cd2+ to red-shift back to 573 nm. In contrast, the emission of H1-Zn2+ with the addition of cysteine only decreased without any red-shift of wavelength. Furthermore, confocal laser scanning micrographs of HeLa cells demonstrated satisfactory cell permeability of H1 and selectivity toward zinc and cadmium ions in living cells. Test strip experiments suggest that probe H1 can recognise zinc and cadmium ions together by a remarkable fluorescence change, thus providing a convenient method for tracking zinc and cadmium ions in biological systems.
