This In the scope of improving learning outcomes in the age of technology, this study comes as an attempt to investigate the extent to which infographics are effective in developing learning outcomes ...for students. It has also attempted to study the effect of infographics types, static versus animated , on developing the skills of designing and producing visual learning materials, and the recognition of design elements and principles. The study was conducted on a sample of students of the College of Education at Imam Abdu Rahman bin Faisal University (IAU) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The sample students number is 36, and they are from students enrolled to study design and production of instructional media course (EDU195N) in the second semester of 2016/2017. The students involved are divided into two experimental groups, group (1) with 19 students who have studied the learning content through static infographics via WhatsApp platform, group (2) with 17 students who have studied the learning content through animated infographics via WhatsApp platform. In the overall, the results revealed that infographics effect the development of some learning outcomes. Besides, the results also demonstrated that static infographic type has more effects on developing skills of designing and producing visual learning materials and recognizing its elements and principles compared to the animated type. And this suggests deep consideration of integrating infographics in teaching e-courses, as well as considering the characteristics and appropriateness of each of the designing types, static versus animated when implemented in instructional processes for better outcomes for learners.
This study aimed to evaluate the protective role of encapsulated cinnamon oil emulsion (COE) in whey protein concentrate (WPC) against the disturbance in lipid profile, oxidative stress markers, and ...gene expression in streptozotocin (STZ)-treated rats. COE was analyzed using GC-MS, and the emulsion was prepared and characterized. In the in vivo study, six groups of male rats were treated orally for 4 weeks, including the control group, the group treated with STZ (D-rats), the groups received a low or high dose of COE (200 or 400 mg/kg B.w.), and the D-rats groups received COE at the low or high dose. Blood and tissue samples were collected after the end of the treatment period for biochemical, genetical, and histological analyses. The GC-MS results revealed that the major components of the oil were cinnamaldehyde, 1,8 cineole, acetic acid, 1,7,7-trimethylbicyclo2.2.1hept2yl ester, α-Pinene, and α-Terpineol. The size, zeta potential, and polydispersity index (PDI) of COE were 240 ± 1.03 nm, − 7.09 ± 0.42, and 0.36, respectively. The in vivo results revealed that COE at the two tested doses improved the levels of glucose, insulin, amylase, lipid profile, hepatic MDA, SOD, and GSH. COE also downregulated hepatic GLU2, FAS, SREBP-1c, and PEPCK gene expression and upregulated IGF-1 mRNA expression in diabetic rats in a dose-dependent manner. Moreover, COE improved and the histological picture of the liver and pancreas. It could be concluded that COE overcomes the disturbances in biochemical, cytological, and histopathological changes in D-rats via the enhancement of antioxidant capacity; reduces the oxidative stress; modulates the concerned gene expression; and may be promising to develop new drugs for diabetic treatment.
The importance of using the interactive video has been widely recognized in e-learning courses. However, there are several variables that can affect learners' engagement and their learning through ...watching digital interactive videos. the main purpose of this study is to examine whether long interactive videos can improve students' performance in tests, retention of learning in the long term, and reduce the cognitive load compared to medium and short videos. An experimental research was conducted on a sample of (63) students of the Faculty of Education at Imam Abdul Rahman University bin Faisal who are registered to study both the courses of Education Technology (EDUM 195N), and Design and Production of Multimedia (EDUM 330N). A three-group experimental design was used. The results were analyzed and interpreted in the light of cognitive load theory and Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning. In light of the research findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations for use in the design and development of content of interactive digital video-based learning environments. The research results can mainly benefit stakeholders and education practitioners, specifically universities, schools, and companies in providing interactive digital video-based learning and training in e-learning and distance learning environments.
Abstract
Background
Herd immunity is necessary to contain the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. Vaccination is the fastest and safest pandemic control strategy. Healthcare workers (HCWs) ...are essential in providing vaccination information. The aim of this study was to assess intent to be vaccinated against COVID-19 among HCWs in Egypt and to determine the factors that may influence their decision.
Methods
A questionnaire-based cross-sectional study was conducted among HCWs who care for patients in several hospitals in Delta region, Egypt. The questionnaire included sociodemographic, clinical, and occupational data, intention to receive the COVID-19 vaccine, and beliefs and attitudes towards COVID-19 and its vaccination.
Results
The study included 455 HCWs with a mean age of 36.55 years (SD = 10.31) and 80% were females. The acceptance rate for the COVID-19 vaccine was 70.5%, while hesitancy and resistancy were both 17.6 and 11.9% respectively. About one-third (33.4%) of the subjects had previously contracted COVID-19. Most participants believed that they had a higher risk of contracting COVID-19 (71.6%). More than 64% believed they were at risk for vaccination side effects. Fear of infection and being at high risk of infection were the main drivers for COVID-19 vaccination, while the major barriers were waiting for additional experience with these new vaccines and having doubts about the vaccines’ efficacy.
Conclusions
The acceptance of the COVID-19 vaccination among HCWs is very high. This crucial group needs to be the focus of educational initiatives and campaigns designed to increase public awareness of the safety and effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccination.
Asynchronous Online Discussions (AOD) are considered as one of the most ma-jor tools in learning management systems which are used in universities. They also provide students with the time needed to process learning, share ideas and points of view on e-course topics. The group size in the AODs is a substantial variable that affects the interaction and the participation of students. The purpose of our research lays in understanding the influence of the group size participating in the AODs on the development of critical thinking skills in information technology for students of the Faculty of Education, and im-proving students’ performance in online discussion forums. In this research, 103 university students from the bachelor's degree have participated in the study. The participating students are studying the Computer Application in Education Course, and the Education Technology Course on the Blackboard e-learning Management System, during a 15-week semester. The findings of the research have revealed very significant conclusions; and the researcher has come up with various recommendations and suggestions for future studies and further research.
Chronic non-bacterial osteomyelitis (CNO) is a rare, non-infection- related inflammatory disorder that affects children and teens. The main aim of this study was to explore the correlation between musculoskeletal (MSK) symptoms and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) in patients with CNO.
Children and adults with CNO and their parents were asked to answer a web-based survey. The survey consisted of multiple questions centered around demographic, clinical and therapeutic data, MSK discomfort form based on the Nordic MSK Questionnaire and HRQoL based on Pediatric Quality of Life Inventory-4 (PedsQL-4) and PedsQL rheumatology module. The inclusion criteria included diagnosis of CNO before the age of 18. Patients who had malignancies or any chronic rheumatic, MSK, neurological disease prior to CNO onset were excluded.
There was a total of 68 participants, mostly females (66.2%), with median age 14 years and median disease duration 4.75 years. The median number of bones affected by CNO was 5 and ranged from 1 to 24 bones. Among the studied patients, 45 patients (66.2%) had MSK manifestations at the last month. The most commonly affected part was ankle and feet (26.5%). Regarding HRQoL, patients with MSK manifestations had lower scores than did patients without in PedsQL-4 (p < 0.001) including domains of physical functioning (p < 0.001), emotional functioning (p = 0.033), social functioning (p < 0.001) and school functioning (p = 0.007) in addition to lower scores in PedsQL rheumatology module (p < 0.001) including domains of pain and hurt (p < 0.001), daily activities (p < 0.001), treatment (p = 0.035), worry (p = 0.001) and communication (p < 0.001).
MSK manifestations have a negative impact on HRQoL in CNO patients. So, early identification and treatment are highly recommended.

A standardized and self-administered questionnaire was distributed among university students allover Egypt. The questionnaire included sociodemographic data, intention to receive COVID-19 vaccine, knowledge and beliefs about it and status of COVID-19 vaccination. Logistic regression analysis was used to determine factors associated with COVID-19 vaccine acceptancy.
A total of 1071 of university students were involved, with a mean age of 20.51 years (SD = 1.66) and 68.2% were females. COVID-19 vaccination acceptability rate was 69.0% while hesitancy was 20.8% and resistancy was 10.2%. Median knowledge score of 4 out of 8 (IQR = 8). The main motivation for vaccine acceptance was fear of being infected (53.6%) and desire to get back to normal life (51.0%) while the main barriers against getting vaccinated were being afraid of serious side effects. Univariate regression analysis revealed an increasing likelihood of vaccine acceptancy associated with an active lifestyle (OR 1.35, 95% CI 1.04-1.75, p = 0.025), a high knowledge score (OR 1.53, 95% CI 1.42-1.66, p < 0.001), and positive vaccine beliefs.
There is a high rate of acceptability of COVID-19 vaccination among university students. Vaccine acceptability is associated with an active lifestyle, a high knowledge score and positive vaccine beliefs. Educational campaigns and efforts aiming to raise awareness about safety and efficacy of COVID-19 vaccines need to be directed to this important population.
The incidence of chronic respiratory disease (CRD) due to Mycoplasma gallisepticum (MG) contamination in hatching eggs poses a serious threat to poultry health and hatchability. Implementing ...effective sanitization methods while safeguarding the hatching potential of embryos is crucial. This study aimed to explore novel techniques for sanitizing hatching-fertile eggs to prevent and manage MG-associated CRD. The primary objective was to assess the efficacy of acidic electrochemically stimulated water (ECS), focusing on MG disinfection. Additionally, the study investigated 2 application methods, 1) electrostatic disinfection (ED) and 2) cold fog (CF) disinfection, to evaluate their bactericidal effects against MG-contaminated eggs. Deliberately infected MG strains were used for the experimental design, which compared the disinfection efficacy of ECS with its acidic properties. The comparison involved ED, which applies an electrostatic charge to water particles, and CF disinfection, a cold mist technique. Both methods aimed to target MG without compromising egg-hatching potential. The results indicated a significant (p < 0.05) reduction in colony-forming units per milliliter (CFU/mL). However, both application methods demonstrated distinct bactericidal effects. Eggs treated with electrostatic disinfection showed a significant (p < 0.001) reduction in embryonic mortality during incubation (10%) compared to control untreated eggs (18%). Similarly, the CF method exhibited a significant (p < 0.001) decrease in embryonic mortality (13%). The ECS potential in reducing embryonic mortality within the pH range of 2.5 to 6.5 was noted. Both the ED and CF methods show promise for preventing MG-induced hatchery infection while maintaining egg-hatching potential. This study presents innovative techniques to control MG in hatching eggs, contributing to improved poultry health and reduced CRD incidence.
