To realize fault-tolerant quantum computing, it is necessary to store quantum information in logical qubits with error correction functions, realized by distributing a logical state among multiple ...physical qubits or by encoding it in the Hilbert space of a high-dimensional system. Quantum gate operations between these error-correctable logical qubits, which are essential for implementation of any practical quantum computational task, have not been experimentally demonstrated yet. Here we demonstrate a geometric method for realizing controlled-phase gates between two logical qubits encoded in photonic fields stored in cavities. The gates are realized by dispersively coupling an ancillary superconducting qubit to these cavities and driving it to make a cyclic evolution depending on the joint photonic state of the cavities, which produces a conditional geometric phase. We first realize phase gates for photonic qubits with the logical basis states encoded in two quasiorthogonal coherent states, which have important implications for continuous-variable-based quantum computation. Then we use this geometric method to implement a controlled-phase gate between two binomially encoded logical qubits, which have an error-correctable function.
One new alkaloid, (S)‐2‐acetamido‐4‐(2‐(methylamino)phenyl)‐4‐oxobutanoic acid (1), was isolated from the deep‐sea‐derived Penicillium citrinum XIA‐16, together with 25 known compounds including ten ...polyketones (2–11), eight alkaloids (12–19), six steroids (20–25), and a fatty acid (26). Their planar and relative structures were determined by an analysis of 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) as well as high resolution electrospray ionization mass spectroscopy (HR‐ESI‐MS) data. The absolute configuration of 1 was determined by comparison of the experimental and calculated electronic circular dichroism (ECD) spectra. Penicitrinol B (6) significantly inhibited RSL3‐induced ferroptosis (EC50=2.0 μM) by reducing lipid peroxidation and heme oxygenase 1 (HMOX1) expression. Under the concentration of 10 μM, penicitrinol A (7) was able to inhibit cuproptosis with the cell viabilities of 68.2 % compared to the negative control (copper and elesclomol) with the cell viabilities of 14.8 %.
Fractional complex transform is proposed to convert fractional differential equations into ordinary differential equations, so that all analytical methods devoted to advanced calculus can be easily ...applied to fractional calculus. Two examples are given.
Three new C10 and C12 aliphatic δ‐lactones (1–3), three new fatty acid methyl esters (4–6), and eight known compounds (7–14) were isolated from the marine Aureobasidium sp. LUO5. Their structures ...were established by detailed analyses of the NMR, HRESIMS, optical rotation, and ECD data. All isolates were tested for their inhibitory effects on nitric oxide production in LPS‐induced BV‐2 cells. Notably, compound 4 displayed the strongest inhibitory effect with the IC50 value of 120.3 nM.
Abstract
No-cloning theorem forbids perfect cloning of an unknown quantum state. A universal quantum cloning machine (UQCM), capable of producing two copies of any input qubit with the optimal ...fidelity, is of fundamental interest and has applications in quantum information processing. This is enabled by delicately tailored nonclassical correlations between the input qubit and the copying qubits, which distinguish the UQCM from a classical counterpart, but whose experimental demonstrations are still lacking. We here implement the UQCM in a superconducting circuit and investigate these correlations. The measured entanglements well agree with our theoretical prediction that they are independent of the input state and thus constitute a universal quantum behavior of the UQCM that was not previously revealed. Another feature of our experiment is the realization of deterministic and individual cloning, in contrast to previously demonstrated UQCMs, which either were probabilistic or did not constitute true cloning of individual qubits.
A new fractional derivative is defined through the variational iteration method, and its application in explaining the excellent thermal protection of polar bear hairs is elucidated. The fractal ...porosity of its inner structure makes a polar bear mathematically adapted for living in a harsh Arctic region.
A transform is suggested in this paper to convert fractional differential
equations with the modified Riemann-Liouville derivative into partial
differential equations, and it is concluded that the ...fractional order in
fractional differential equations is equivalent to the fractal dimension.

In this work, the framework of Co nanoparticles and nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes (Co/NCNTs) derived from metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) through solid pyrolysis was successfully synthesized in the ...atmosphere of H

and Ar gases. The Co/NCNTs composites exhibited superior electrocatalytic performance for tert-butyl hydroquinone (TBHQ) oxidation due to the synergistic effect between chemical composition and the specific structure of Co nanoparticles and nitrogen-doped carbon nanotubes. It was found that the reaction underwent a quasi-reversible redox reaction with 37-fold higher anodic current for TBHQ at Co/NCNT-modified electrode when compared to bare glassy carbon electrode (GCE). In optimal condition, Co/NCNTs/GCE exhibited a linear range of 0.05–80.00 μmol·L
−1
for detecting TBHQ, and the limit of detection (LOD) was estimated to be as low as 10 nmol·L
−1
(signal/noise of
S/N
= 3). Moreover, the as-obtained modified electrode was successfully used to assay the content of TBHQ in edible oil samples.

The two-stage dough mixing process was innovated to improve the qualities of bread made from potato flour (PF) and wheat flour at a ratio of 1:1 (w/w). The final dough was first prepared from wheat ...flour before being added with PF. The effects of the method on enhancing the dough qualities were verified, and the distribution of water in gluten-gelatinized starch matrix of the doughs was investigated. We observed that the bread qualities were improved, as reflected by the increase of specific volume from 2.26 to 2.96 mL g–1 and the decrease of crumb hardness from 417.93 to 255.57 g. The results from rheofermentometric measurements showed that the dough mixed using the developed mixing method had higher maximum dough height value, time of dough porosity appearance, and gas retention coefficient, as well as enhanced gluten matrix formation compared to that mixed by the traditional mixing method. The results from low-field nuclear magnetic resonance confirmed that the competitive water absorption between gluten and gelatinized starch could restrict the formation of gluten network in the dough mixed using the traditional mixing process. Using the novel mixing method, gluten could be sufficiently hydrated in stage 1, which could then weaken the competitive water absorption caused by gelatinized starch in stage 2; this could also be indicated by the greater mobility of proton in PF and better development of gluten network during mixing.
Purpose
– Academic and industrial researches on nanoscale flows and heat transfers are an area of increasing global interest, where fascinating phenomena are always observed, e.g. admirable water or ...air permeation and remarkable thermal conductivity. The purpose of this paper is to reveal the phenomena by the fractional calculus.

Fractional derivatives are introduced heuristically by the variational iteration method, and fractal derivatives are explained geometrically. Some effective analytical approaches to fractional differential equations, e.g. the variational iteration method, the homotopy perturbation method and the fractional complex transform, are outlined and the main solution processes are given.
