To evaluate the factors related to level IIb lymph node(LN) metastasis in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Method The medical records of 63 PTC patients were reviewed. The patients underwent neck ...dissection (ND) between January 2011 and December 2012, who were determined with pathologically lateral cervical LN metastasis. A total of 67 ND specimens were obtained and analyzed for LN involvement with respect to neck levels. The relation of level IIb LN metastasis with clinical factors, including age and sex of patients, tumor size, location, multifocality, extracapsular spread (ECS) and stage of primary PTC, coexistence of lymphocytic thyroiditis, distribution of metastasis LN in different levels, fusion and extracapsular invasion of LN were analyzed with univariate analysis and χ(2) test. In pot experiments, the effects of Pseudomonas aeruginosaATCC 9027 and nitrilotriacetic acid (NTA) on Cd phytoextraction from contaminated soil by Boehmeria nivea(L.) Gaud (ramie) was investigated. ...Ramie was grown in a sandy soil in the presence of 30 mg kg super(-1) Cd and 50 mg kg super(-1) Cd, respectively. The experimental pots were amended with P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 or NTA at different levels (5, 10 and 20 mmol kg super(-1)) weekly. The results showed that the inoculation of P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 alleviated the Cd-induced damages, resulting in promotion of ramie growth, improvement of antioxidative enzymes activities and increase of total Cd-uptake by ramie. By contrasting 30 and 50 mg kg super(-1) Cd treatments, the inoculation of P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 increased accumulation in the roots ranging from 54% to 96% and 13% to 104% in 30 and 50 mg kg super(-1) Cd soils, respectively. The average accumulation of Cd with P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 was about 1.95-fold (30 mg kg super(-1) Cd) and 1.54-fold (50 mg kg super(-1) Cd) compared to the corresponding NTA treatments. When added with NTA, the accumulation of Cd in the shoots of ramie was higher than the controls, but inhibition of plant growth and related enzyme activities were observed. The experimental results demonstrated that P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 can greatly enhance phytoremediation efficiency. Besides, the results also indicated that P. aeruginosaATCC 9027 was more effective than NTA to improve the efficiency of ramie under cadmium stress in practical applications.
High speed Power Line Carrier Communication (HPLC) uses Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) technology that is sensitive to frequency offset. Due to cost reasons, the crystal oscillator ...performance of power line carrier communication system is limited, and the crystal oscillator frequency offset gradually accumulates and increases with time, causing sampling frequency offset and having a significant impact on the demodulation performance of the system. In order to reduce the impact of sampling frequency offset on demodulation performance, this paper proposes a sampling frequency offset estimation and compensation algorithm based on the equalized signal. This algorithm first equalizes the preamble symbols, then utilizes the equalized preamble symbols for sampling frequency offset estimation, then fully exploits the subcarrier accumulation effect within the effective bandwidth to reduce the impact of noise on the estimation results. The method is simulated in Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel and multipath channel respectively. The simulation results show that the method of equalization before estimation improves the accuracy of sampling frequency offset estimation, thus improves the demodulation performance of power line carrier communication system, and the improvement is particularly significant in multipath channel.
To investigate effects of systemic red light therapy on wound repair of burned patients and discuss its possible mechanisms of wound healing promotion.
138 burned patients were randomly divided into ...systemic red light treatment group (n = 69) and control group (n = 69). Patients in control group received routine therapy, while those in test group were given systemic red light therapy once a day, 30 minutes at a time until the wounds were recovered. The clinical findings and variables indicating wound repair were assessed on the 7th, 10th, 14th day, 21st day post-burn and the day when the wounds were healed.
Mean time of wound recovery were 19.86 +/- 2.43 days and 21.02 +/- 2.97 days respectively of those deep-thickness wounds in test group and control group, with statistically significance (P < 0.05). ChipNeMo aims to explore the applications of large language models (LLMs) for industrial chip design. Instead of directly deploying off-the-shelf commercial or open-source LLMs, we instead adopt the ...following domain adaptation techniques: domain-adaptive tokenization, domain-adaptive continued pretraining, model alignment with domain-specific instructions, and domain-adapted retrieval models. We evaluate these methods on three selected LLM applications for chip design: an engineering assistant chatbot, EDA script generation, and bug summarization and analysis. Our evaluations demonstrate that domain-adaptive pretraining of language models, can lead to superior performance in domain related downstream tasks compared to their base LLaMA2 counterparts, without degradations in generic capabilities. In particular, our largest model, ChipNeMo-70B, outperforms the highly capable GPT-4 on two of our use cases, namely engineering assistant chatbot and EDA scripts generation, while exhibiting competitive performance on bug summarization and analysis. These results underscore the potential of domain-specific customization for enhancing the effectiveness of large language models in specialized applications.
