Issu du projet de recherche ÉCRICOL, cet article vise à montrer comment les méthodologies qualitative et quantitative s’articulent dans le processus conduisant à l’identification stabilisée des ...compétences et des difficultés scripturales du sujet écrivant. Précisément, après l’évocation de quelques éléments de contexte à propos du projet ÉCRICOL, nous définissons, à la lumière des travaux antérieurs, la notion de compétence scripturale avant de présenter la manière dont elle a été opérationnalisée comme outil d’analyse des textes produits par les élèves de sixième. L’article expose ensuite le parcours réalisé, de la collecte de ces textes aux résultats d’analyse, qui montre le passage d’une étude qualitative requérant des choix épistémologiques et pratiques vers la quantification et le traitement massif des données. Il se termine en pointant certains phénomènes nécessitant d’effectuer un chemin inversé (du quantitatif au qualitatif) pour mieux les appréhender.
Background: Neuroendocrine prostate cancer (NEPC) is a rare neoplasm, and the role of both conventional imaging (CI) and positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) for its assessment ...has not been clearly evaluated and demonstrated. The aim of this systematic review was to analyze the diagnostic performances of these imaging modalities in this setting. Methods: A wide literature search of the PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science databases was made to find relevant published articles about the role of CI and PET/CT for the evaluation of NEPC. Results: 13 studies were included in the systematic review. PET/CT imaging with different radiopharmaceuticals has been evaluated in many studies (10) compared to CI (3 studies), which has only a limited role in NEPC. Focusing on PET/CT, a study used 18FFDG, labeled somatostatin analogs were used in 5 cases, a study used 68GaGa-FAPI-04, 68GaGa-PSMA-11 was evaluated in a single case, and two works used different tracers. Conclusion: Published data on the role of PET/CT for the assessment of NEPC are limited. At present, it is still uncertain which tracer performs best, and although 18FFDG has been evaluated and seems to offer some advantages in availability and clinical staging, other tracers may be more useful to understand tumor biology or identify targets for subsequent radioligand therapy. Further research is therefore desirable. In contrast, data are still limited to draw a final conclusion on the role and the specific characteristics of CI in this rare form of neoplasm, and therefore, more studies are needed in this setting.
Background: The standard treatment for locally advanced non-small cell lung cancer (LA-NSCLC) is represented by concomitant chemo-radiotherapy followed by consolidation with durvalumab that ensures a ...5-year survival of 46%. However, the risk of radiotherapy-induced pneumonia (RIP) is almost 10–15%. Complete cardiological examination is also usually performed during the cardiopulmonary pre-treatment evaluation and pulmonary function testing is one of the most used tool to predict the risk of RIP development. Aim: The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of Tc-99 macroaggregated albumin (MAA) lung perfusion scan with single photon emission-computed tomography/computed tomography (SPECT/CT) in the preliminary assessment of lung functions and its potential role for the optimization of the radiotherapy treatment planning. Methods: Descriptive and statistical analysis were performed on eight patients affected by unresectable stage III LA-NSCLC treated with chemo-radiotherapy. Before starting radiotherapy, patients underwent lung perfusion SPECT/CT. The SPECT/CT images were firstly co-registered with the simulation CT scan ones, then a specific region of interest (ROI) of lung volumes was created to represent the areas with a perfusion of at least 20% 40%, 60% and 80% of maximum perfusion, respectively. Finally, optimization of the standard treatment plan was performed with the aim of preserving the better perfused lung volumes. The dosimetric correlations of both plans were made comparing pulmonary V20 and V5, mean pulmonary, esophagus and heart dose. Results: From the DVH comparative analysis of the two treatment plans (standard one versus SPECT optimized one) obtained for each patient, the data confirmed an equal coverage of the target volume while respecting all lungs, heart and esophagus dose constraints. At the same time, SPECT-optimized plans allowed to reduce the average dose to the better perfused lung volumes. Conclusions: Lung perfusion scintigraphy could be considered a preliminary assessment tool to explore lung functions and stratify the risk of RIP development. SPECT/TC may also be proposed as a dose painting tool to optimize radiotherapy treatment plans. Only prospective analysis will be enable us to confirm the real reduction of RIP risk in lung areas with an optimal perfusion.
En Belgique francophone, plusieurs actions visant l'enseignement du français ont été développées depuis les années 1990 dans les contextes multilingues exogenes. L'objectif déclaré est dans tous ces ...cas celui de l'aide a l'intégration et a la réussite. L'intention de cet article est de commenter ces mesures de maniere critique sur la base des recherches empiriques que nous avons menées dans notre groupe de recherche. Nous montrons que ces dispositifs d'aide, dans le domaine éducatif, renforcent des processus de ségrégation, dont les conséquences sur le plan scolaire ont été mises en évidence par les recherches PISA, en dépit des intentions louables qui les motivent. La question n'est pas de nier les éventuelles spécificités de ces contextes multilingues, mais plutôt de briser le cercle vicieux qui conduit a davantage de ségrégation et donc de difficultés. Quelques suggestions sont avancées a ce propos.
Infection with the novel severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) may remain asymptomatic, leading to under-recognition of the related disease, coronavirus disease, 2019 ...(COVID-19), and to incidental findings in nuclear imaging procedures performed for standard clinical indications. Here, we report about our local experience in a region with high COVID-19 prevalence and dynamically increasing infection rates.
Within the 8-d period of March 16-24, 2020, hybrid imaging studies of asymptomatic patients who underwent
F-FDG PET/CT or
I SPECT/CT for standard oncologic indications at our institution in Brescia, Italy, were analyzed for findings suggestive of COVID-19. The presence, radiologic features, and metabolic activity of interstitial pneumonia were identified, correlated with the subsequent short-term clinical course, and described in a case series.
Six of 65 patients (9%) who underwent PET/CT for various malignancies showed unexpected signs of interstitial pneumonia on CT and elevated regional
F-FDG avidity. Additionally, 1 of 12 patients who received radioiodine for differentiated thyroid carcinoma also showed interstitial pneumonia on SPECT/CT. Five of 7 patients had subsequent proof of COVID-19 by reverse-transcriptase polymerase chain reaction. The remaining 2 patients were not tested immediately but underwent quarantine and careful monitoring.
Incidental findings suggestive of COVID-19 may not be infrequent in hybrid imaging of asymptomatic patients in regions with an expansive spread of SARS-CoV-2. Nuclear medicine services should prepare accordingly.
This study is situated in the context of teaching first language (L1) oral communication in elementary school in Fr-Belgium. According to the literature, the quality of oral performances can be ...improved through revision. Using video recording could offer this possibility. However, research on this topic addresses neither elementary students, nor L1 instruction. We compared two conditions in which students either did live performances or created video performances with twelve school classes following a 3-week instructional program. Oral communication skills improved under both conditions. However, students in the video condition showed greater improvement in verbal and non-verbal communication for televisual genres.
•“Itineraries” is an instructional program that improves students’ oral skills.•Reviewing oneself on video does not improve all components of oral communication.•Reviewing oneself on video improves the verbal and non-verbal aspects of speaking.•Video recording for oral instruction is useful for television-related genres only.
Nous relatons ici une expérimentation sur l'enseignement de la composante de révision du processus rédactionnel réalisée auprès de 38 élèves de 10-12 ans, pour lesquels nous avons récolté et analysé ...228 productions écrites, comparativement à une classe contrôle de 18 élèves du même âge. Nous examinons les effets, sur le développement de la compétence scripturale, d'un dispositif (Itinéraires) qui propose aux élèves de réécrire leur texte plusieurs fois, en alternant ces moments de réécriture avec des activités amenant les élèves à renforcer leur capacité de révision du texte. Nous montrons également l'impact spécifique de deux activités de renforcement des capacités de révision--à savoir les étayages amenés par les enseignants et les interactions entre pairs--sur les composantes relatives aux savoirs (savoirs, savoir-faire, << savoir-graphier >>, savoirs sémiotiques) constituants de la compétence scripturale. Les résultats tendent à montrer que les étayages offerts par l'enseignant sont nécessaires pour apporter aux élèves des savoirs nouveaux alors que les interactions entre pairs mobilisent les connaissances déjà-là, apportent une aide pour certaines corrections ponctuelles et préparent la diffusion finale des textes. Mots-clés: compétence scripturale, production d'écrits, Itinéraires, étayages, interactions We report here an experiment on the teaching of the editorial process component of 38 pupils aged 10-12 years, for whom we collected and analyzed 228 written productions, compared to a control class of 18 pupils of the same age group. We examine the effects, on the development of the scriptural competence, of a device (Itineraries) which allows students to rewrite their text several times, alternating these moments of rewriting with activities that lead students to reinforce their ability to revisit the text. We also show the specific impact of two revision capacity-building activities--teacher-based support and peer-to-peer interactions--on knowledge components (knowledge, know-how, spelling knowledge, semiotic knowledge) constituents of scriptural competence. The results tend to show that the scaffolding offered by the teacher is necessary to provide students with new knowledge, whereas peer interactions mobilize the knowledge already there, give aid for some sporadic corrections and to prepare the final dissemination of the text. Dans cette contribution, nous présentons une analyse d’un étayage apporté aux élèves : celui destiné à structurer l’organisation générale et les caractéristiques du texte à produire. Nous nous ...centrons ici sur une expérimentation réalisée dans deux classes d’élèves de 10-12 ans (38 élèves), comparativement à une classe contrôle (18 élèves), selon deux modalités de structuration de l’étayage. Le but de l’expérimentation est de comparer deux modalités d’organisation de l’étayage portant sur la superstructure du texte, la première basée sur un dispositif suscitant un conflit sociocognitif entre groupes d’élèves, la deuxième sur l’observation directe de textes fournis par l’enseignant. Nous montrons, à partir d’une analyse quantitative et qualitative, (1) les effets de la séquence comparativement au groupe contrôle, (2) la manière dont le savoir se construit pendant l’activité d’apprentissage et (3) les changements visibles dans les textes après l’étayage.
