Monitoring vegetation encroachment under overhead high voltage power line is a challenging problem for electricity distribution companies. Absence of proper monitoring could result in damage to the ...power lines and consequently cause blackout. This will affect electric power supply to industries, businesses, and daily life. Therefore, to avoid the blackouts, it is mandatory to monitor the vegetation/trees near power transmission lines. Unfortunately, the existing approaches are more time consuming and expensive. In this paper, we have proposed a novel approach to monitor the vegetation/trees near or under the power transmission poles using satellite stereo images, which were acquired using Pleiades satellites. The 3D depth of vegetation has been measured near power transmission lines using stereo algorithms. The area of interest scanned by Pleiades satellite sensors is 100 square kilometer. Our dataset covers power transmission poles in a state called Sabah in East Malaysia, encompassing a total of 52 poles in the area of 100 km. We have compared the results of Pleiades satellite stereo images using dynamic programming and Graph-Cut algorithms, consequently comparing satellites’ imaging sensors and Depth-estimation Algorithms. Our results show that Graph-Cut Algorithm performs better than dynamic programming (DP) in terms of accuracy and speed.
Based on an e+e− collision data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 567 pb−1 taken at the center-of-mass energy of s=4.6 GeV with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute ...branching fraction of the inclusive decay Λc+→Λ+X to be B(Λc+→Λ+X)=(38.2−2.2+2.8±0.9)% using the double-tag method, where X refers to any possible final state particles. In addition, we search for direct CP violation in the charge asymmetry of this inclusive decay for the first time, and obtain ACP≡B(Λc+→Λ+X)−B(Λ¯c−→Λ¯+X)/B(Λc+→Λ+X)+B(Λ¯c−→Λ¯+X)=(2.1−6.6+7.0±1.6)%, a statistically limited result with no evidence of CP violation.
Using a data sample of ${e}^{+}{e}^{{-}}$ collisions corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $567\text{ }\text{ }{\mathrm{pb}}^{{-}1}$ collected at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s}=4.6\text{ ...}\text{ }\mathrm{GeV}$ with the BESIII detector, we measure the absolute branching fraction of the inclusive semileptonic ${\mathrm{{\Lambda}}}_{c}^{+}$ decay with a double-tag method. We obtain $\mathcal{B}({\mathrm{{\Lambda}}}_{c}^{+}{\rightarrow}X{e}^{+}{{\nu}}_{e})=(3.95\pm{}0.34\pm{}0.09)%$, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. Using the known ${\mathrm{{\Lambda}}}_{c}^{+}$ lifetime and the charge-averaged semileptonic decay width of nonstrange charmed mesons (${D}^{0}$ and ${D}^{+}$), we obtain the ratio of the inclusive semileptonic decay widths $\mathrm{{\Gamma}}({\mathrm{{\Lambda}}}_{c}^{+}{\rightarrow}X{e}^{+}{{\nu}}_{e})/\overline{\mathrm{{\Gamma}}}(D{\rightarrow}X{e}^{+}{{\nu}}_{e})=1.26\pm{}0.12$.

The rise in temperature produces thermal agitation which not only ...increases the dark current but also enhances the losses of free carriers in a polycrystalline module. The efficiency and the output power decreases with an increase in the working temperature. A maximum decline in the output power of 97% has been measured under a dominated diffused radiation environment. The temperature coefficients have been obtained and equations are developed to evaluate the change in the rating of module at any working temperature with reference to their values at STC.

We report the first measurement of the absolute branching fraction of the inclusive decay Λc+→KS0X. The analysis is performed using an e+e- collision data sample corresponding to an integrated ...luminosity of 567 pb-1 taken at s = 4.6 GeV with the BESIII detector. Using eleven Cabibbo-favored Λ¯c- decay modes and the double-tag technique, this absolute branching fraction is measured to be B(Λc+→KS0X)=(9.9±0.6±0.4)%, where the first uncertainty is statistical and the second systematic. The relative deviation between the branching fractions for the inclusive decay and the observed exclusive decays is (18.7±8.3)%, which indicates that there may be some unobserved decay modes with a neutron or excited baryons in the final state.
The process of formation, flying, penetration of explosively-formed projectiles (EFP) and the effect of water on performance of the charge for underwater applications is simulated by Ansysis Autodyn ...2D-Hydro code. The main objective of an explosively formed projectile designed for underwater applications is to disintegrate the target at longer standoff distances. In this paper we have simulated the explosively formed projectile from OFHC-Copper liner for 1200 conical angle. The Affect of water on the penetration of EFP is determined by simulations from Ansysis Autodyn 2-D Hydrocode and by varying depth of water from 1CD-5CD. The depth of penetration against steel target is measured experimentally. Flash X-Ray Radiography (FXR) is used to capture EFP jet formation and its penetration against target is measured by depth of penetration experiments. Simulation results are compared with experimental results. The difference in simulated and experimental results for depth of penetration is about 7 mm, which lies within favorable range of error. The jet formation captured from FXR is quite clear and jet velocity determined from Flash X-ray radiography is the same as the ones obtained by using other high explosives. Therefore, it is indicated that Insensitive Munition (8701) can be utilized instead of Polymer Bonded Explosives (PBX) for air and underwater environments with great reliability and without any hazard.
