We discuss restrictions on operators in the soft-collinear effective theory (SCET) which follow from the ambiguity in the decomposition of collinear momenta and the freedom in the choice of ...light-like basis vectors
n and
n̄. Invariance of SCET under small changes in
n and/or
n̄ implies a symmetry of the effective theory that constrains the form of allowed operators with collinear fields. The restrictions occur at a given order in the power counting as well as between different orders. As an example, we present the complete set of higher order operators that are related to the collinear quark kinetic term.

Abstract
The Review summarizes much of particle physics and cosmology. Using data from previous editions, plus 3,324 new measurements from 878 papers, we list, evaluate, and average measured ...properties of gauge bosons and the recently discovered Higgs boson, leptons, quarks, mesons, and baryons. We summarize searches for hypothetical particles such as supersymmetric particles, heavy bosons, axions, dark photons, etc. Particle properties and search limits are listed in Summary Tables. We give numerous tables, figures, formulae, and reviews of topics such as Higgs Boson Physics, Supersymmetry, Grand Unified Theories, Neutrino Mixing, Dark Energy, Dark Matter, Cosmology, Particle Detectors, Colliders, Probability and Statistics. Among the 120 reviews are many that are new or heavily revised, including a new review on High Energy Soft QCD and Diffraction and one on the Determination of CKM Angles from B Hadrons.
The Review is divided into two volumes. Volume 1 includes the Summary Tables and 98 review articles. Volume 2 consists of the Particle Listings and contains also 22 reviews that address specific aspects of the data presented in the Listings.
The complete Review (both volumes) is published online on the website of the Particle Data Group (pdg.lbl.gov) and in a journal. Volume 1 is available in print as the PDG Book. A Particle Physics Booklet with the Summary Tables and essential tables, figures, and equations from selected review articles is available in print and as a web version optimized for use on phones as well as an Android app.

Postoperative pain after total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is an important determinant of hospital stay and rehabilitation and thereby functional outcome. Adductor canal block (ACB) and intraarticular ...analgesic infiltration through catheters (IAC) are techniques of multimodal analgesia which have shown to control postoperative pain satisfactorily. The aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of ACB versus IAC in reducing immediate postoperative pain and thereby allow early rehabilitation. A multicenter quasi-experimental study was conducted on 511 patients undergoing unilateral primary TKA from March 2016 to April 2017 who either received ACB with catheter (Group I,
n
= 350 patients) or IAC (Group II,
n
= 172 patients) for postoperative pain control. All the patients were assessed for severity of pain by Visual Analogue Scale at 8, 24, 48, 72 h postoperatively and knee range of motion (ROM) on the day of discharge. There was no significant difference in pain scores on postoperative day (POD) 0 (1.09 ± 0.30 vs. 0.98 ± 0.46,

= 0.45) and POD 1 (1.21 ± 0.45 vs. 1.00 ± 0.00,
p
= 0.11) and in mean ROM on the day of discharge between ACB and IAC (88.40° ± 7.96° vs. 88.34° ± 5.74°;

= 0.93) groups. This study shows that both ACB and IAC provide satisfactory postoperative analgesia with sparing of quadriceps function and good knee ROM leading to early rehabilitation and reduced hospital with no advantage of one technique over another.

A method for sorption preconcentration of Cr(VI) from aqueous samples was developed using a polymer inclusion sorbent (PIS). The PIS used in this method was prepared by physical inclusion of ...Aliquat-336 in the matrix formed by cellulose triacetate and 2-nitrophenyl octyl ether. This sorbent was found to be stable, cost-effective, efficient for preconcentration of Cr(VI) present in the aqueous samples, and amenable to direct quantitative analysis of Cr(VI) held in it by neutron activation analysis and spectrophotometry. The quantifying of Cr(VI) in PIS by spectrophotometry was carried out by developing color directly on the PIS after reacting it with 1,5-diphenylcarbazide. The distinct color developed on the PIS even at very low concentrations of Cr(VI) suggests its possible use for field determination of Cr(VI). The composition of PIS was optimized to obtain maximum uptake of Cr(VI) without sacrificing uniformity in terms of thickness and distribution of ion-exchange sites, stability, and time required for quantitative sorption of Cr(VI) from aqueous samples. The Cr(VI) species held in the PIS, mainly HCrO4 - and CrO4 2-, were found to vary as a function of pH of the aqueous samples from which Cr(VI) was preconcentrated. A close agreement was found in the abundances of Cr(VI) species held in the PIS with those reported in the literature for aqueous solutions at different pH. The variation of Cr(VI) species as a function of pH was found to have a significant impact on the tolerance to anions on the uptake of Cr(VI) in the PIS. The high selectivity of PIS toward Cr(VI) from aqueous solution at pH = 2 was explained on the basis of hydration of anions. The uptake of Cr(VI) was found to be fairly constant (88 ± 3%) up to nearly complete exchange of counterions present in the PIS. The method developed in the present work was successfully used for the preconcentration of Cr(VI) from tap water and seawater samples containing low levels of Cr(VI).
