•We write a reaction diffusion system that can reduce to that proposed by Medvedev, Kaper, Kopell (MKK).•The system contains as a special case also the model proposed by Czirok, Matsushita and Vicsek ...(CMV).•Some equivalence transformation algebras for the class of system to whom belongs the model are determined.•From a special equivalence algebra we obtain some constitutive function forms that extend the principal Lie Algebra.•For some constitutive functions of models MKK and CMV, symmetry reductions and new exact invariant solutions are obtained.
Starting from a well-known model introduced by Medvedev, Koper and Kopell (MKK) we have written a reaction-diffusion system, that models the evolution of Proteus Mirabilis bacterial colonies, and have considered the class of pde systems to whom it belongs. Once specialized some parameters we are able to get both the MKK models and the models introduced by Czirok, Matsushita and Vicsek (CMV). After having derived some equivalence algebras of this class, we use them to find forms of constitutive functions that allow to extend the principal Lie algebra. For some constitutive functions of models MKK and CMV, symmetry reductions and new exact invariant solutions are obtained.
The primary aim of this study was to investigate bone loss in the glenoid with magnetic resonance imaging in posterior shoulder instability with only a labral tear.
A total of 76 patients operated on ...because of posterior and anteroposterior shoulder instability only with a labral tear between 2006 and 2019 (n = 40 and n = 36, respectively) were included in this study. The instability type, a presence of an additional superior labrum anteroposterior (SLAP) lesion, the number of dislocations, and the magnetic resonance imaging–based measurements (the glenoid diameter and the bone defect size in the glenoid, the Hill-Sachs lesion HSL and the reverse HSL rHSL length, the angle and the arc length of HSL and rHSL, and the humerus head diameter and its area) were analyzed.
The size of the anterior glenoid defect, the rHSL measurements (length, angle, and arc length), and the ratio of the anterior glenoid defect size to the glenoid diameter were significantly higher for anteroposterior instability (P < .01) cases. There was no significant difference (P = .49, .64, and .82, respectively) for the presence of an additional SLAP pathology, the glenoid diameter, the posterior glenoid defect, and the ratio of the posterior glenoid defect size to the glenoid diameter in posterior and anteroposterior instability groups. The increased number of dislocations was associated with increased rHSL length and total arc length (P = .04 and .03, respectively). An additional SLAP lesion in posterior shoulder instabilities was not associated with the bone defect size (P = .29).
Although the posterior shoulder instability with only a labral tear is likely to cause a bone defect, we have shown that the instability is not expected to be caused by the bone defect. Therefore, this study points out that only soft tissue repair without considering the bone defect could be promising in this patient group.
Since the beginning of humanity until the present time, the discipline of medicine is in the area of the profession, of which is the object and subject is human, both embraced and violated ethical ...virtues in practice, and the rules are made for. At this aspect, it is expected that physician is acknowledged about the principles of scientific research with publication ethics and reflect to the applications. It is observed that the violation of the principles of scientific research with publication ethics is mostly originated from the lack of knowledge about these values. Researcher's value system is at least as important as competence. We aimed to emphasize most important aspects stringent for the scientific researches.
The analytical solutions of a nonlinear fin problem with variable thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficients are investigated by considering theory of Lie groups and its relations with
λ
...-symmetries and Prelle-Singer procedure. Additionally, the classification problem with respect to different choices of thermal conductivity and heat transfer coefficient functions is carried out. In addition, Lagrangian and Hamiltonian forms related to the problem are investigated. Furthermore, the exact analytical solutions of boundary-value problems for the nonlinear fin equation are obtained and represented graphically.
The current study aimed to reveal the opinions influencing the post-goal motivation levels of male strikers who have played in various football clubs in the Turkish Professional Football League. ...Among the basic qualitative research designs, one of the qualitative research methodologies was employed to conduct this study. The study group consisted of 10 Turkish Professional Football League footballers who were playing professional football for many years. The study data were collected by a semi-structured interview form and analyzed by content analysis. The findings of the data analyzed are described in the discussion and conclusion sections. It is concluded that when the strikers scored the game’s first goal, they used it wisely, conforming to the game strategy, without losing their desire and motivation to score new goals. It is generally believed, that physical, technical and tactical training of the strikers during the annual training schedule improves their mental toughness and effectiveness in maintaining self-motivation. Hence, it would be important for the Turkish Football Federation to engage in a long-term collaboration process with sports psychologists, football coaches and professional club managers to ensure the sustainability of the male strikers’ motivation.
In this study, we represent an application of the geometrical characterization of µ-prolongations of vector fields to the nonlinear partial differential Gardner equation with variable coefficients. ...First, µ-symmetries and the corresponding µ-symmetry classification are investigated and then µ-reduction forms of the equations are obtained. Furthermore, µ-invariant solutions are determined and µ-conservation laws of Gardner equation are studied.
In this study, we have used a newly modified Ishikawa iteration method and the Haar wavelet method to solve an ordinary linear differential equation with initial conditions. Using the modified ...Ishikawa iteration approach, we derive approximate solutions to the issue as well as the related iterative schemes. For this problem, the Ishikawa Iteration Method is applied for different lambda and gamma values and approximation solutions for these values are compared with the approximate solution of Haar wavelet collocation and its exact solution. Finally, the error tables are written and the graphs are shown.
Resistive index (RI) and peak systolic velocity (PSV) are important Color doppler ultrasonography (CDU) parameters indicating the microcirculation and flow velocity in tissues. We aim to determine ...the changes in vascular flow characteristics in clubfoot after Ponseti treatment. There were three groups: the clubfoot group, the healthy group (the unaffected feet with unilateral deformities) and the control group. The Pirani severity scoring and CDU examinations of the foot were performed at initial admission and the 6th-month follow-up after Ponseti treatment. A total of 34 feet of 24 patients were included in the study. The mean age at initial treatment was 20.9 ± 22.5 days. The RI and PSV values of the clubfeet and the healthy group were similar. Resistive index values were significantly lower, and PSV values were significantly higher in the control group. After Ponseti treatment, only RI of the dorsalis pedis artery decreased, but PSV increased for all of the arteries. Recurrence of the deformity deteriorates the improvement in vascular development. Resistive index and PSV values were not related to the initial severity of the deformity. The RI values were higher, and PSV values were lower in clubfoot patients compared with the normal control group. Vascular pathology is a component of clubfoot, and treatment success improves vascular development. The improvement of microcirculation and blood flow velocity together was detected only in the dorsalis pedis artery. The effect of vascular flow change on prognosis was not detected.
This study aimed to investigate the relationship between exercise addiction level and performance enhancement in elite athletes. Seventy-four athletes participated in the study. The participants were ...asked to present their best official competition ranks in order for the years 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018. “Exercise Addiction Scale” was used for data collection.
t
test, ANOVA and post hoc statistics were used to analyse the research data. The study found that the mean exercise addiction score of the participants was (55.67 ± 20.83). Although addiction levels of the athletes with the lowest performance enhancement were significantly higher compared to other participants, no significant difference was found between gender and exercise addiction (
p
> 0.05). Consequently, in the study, it was related that the athletes with high levels of exercise addiction displayed poor performance in all branches of track and field. Addiction may stand out among the factors that have a negative impact on athlete performance.
