Objetivou-se relatar a experiência da ação extensionista de ligações telefônicas aos cuidadores familiares durante o período de isolamento social devido à pandemia causada por SARS-COV-2. Foram ...realizadas quatro ligações telefônicas, a partir de roteiro, para nove cuidadores familiares de pacientes vinculados ao programa de atenção domiciliar, entre outubro e dezembro de 2020. Após cada ligação, o registro era redigido. A análise foi temática. Duas categorias foram elaboradas: a primeira sobre as fortalezas atribuídas à experiência de cuidar do outro – comunicação efetiva com a equipe e o apoio familiar; a segunda sobre fragilidades – sentimentos ambíguos, adoecimento físico e mental do cuidador, a mudança na rotina e aos aspectos financeiros. As ligações telefônicas possibilitaram conhecer a rotina que a pandemia trouxe nas vidas dos cuidadores e propiciaram espaço de escuta aos cuidadores, que também merecem atenção e ações de cuidado.
RESUMO Objetivo descrever o cuidado prestado às crianças com necessidades especiais de saúde nos Serviços de Atenção Domiciliar do estado de Mato Grosso do Sul. Métodos pesquisa quantitativa, ...descritiva e exploratória. Os participantes do estudo foram profissionais dos Serviços de Atenção Domiciliar do Mato Grosso do Sul. A coleta de dados se deu com a aplicação de dois formulários on-line, no período de 2019 a 2020. Um dos formulários tinha dados descritivos dos serviços e seus atendimentos; o outro se voltava para a validação de protocolo de fluxo de atenção domiciliar às crianças. Para análise de dados, utilizou-se a estatística descritiva. Resultados houve uma predominância de 25 crianças com paralisia cerebral, sendo que a maioria foi classificada como média complexidade, de acordo com a complexidade e as demandas de cuidados. Os profissionais realizam orientações, procedimentos e avaliação, além de serem responsáveis pelo treinamento da família. Os serviços não possuem protocolo de fluxo para atendimento das crianças. Conclusão Implicações para Prática embora os serviços apresentem capacidade de ampliação do atendimento e utilizem o Plano Terapêutico Singular, avanços na assistência às crianças e famílias ainda se fazem necessários. Recomenda-se a elaboração de protocolos de fluxo e propostas organizativas que auxiliem os profissionais em sua prática.

Métodos investigação cuantitativa, descritiva e exploratoria. Los participantes del estudio fueron profesionales de los servicios de atención domiciliaria de Mato Grosso do Sul. La recolección de datos ocurrió a través de la aplicación de dos formularios en línea, de 2019 a 2020, uno con datos descriptivos de los servicios y su atención y el otro para la validación del protocolo para el flujo de atención domiciliaria a los niños. Se utilizó estadística descriptiva para el análisis de datos. Resultados hubo un predominio de 25 niños con parálisis cerebral. La mayoría clasificó como mediana complejidad de acuerdo a la complejidad y demandas de atención. The professionals carry out lineamientos, procedures, evaluation and are responsible for training the family. Los servicios no cuentan con un protocolo de flujo para la atención de niños. Conclusion Implications for Practice Although the services have the capacity to expand care and use the Singular Therapeutic Plan, advances in the care of the child and the family are still needed. The development of flow protocols and organizational proposals that help professionals in their practice are recommended.
ABSTRACT Objective to describe the care provided to children with special health needs in the Home Care Services of the State of Mato Grosso do Sul - Brazil. Methods research, descriptive and exploratory. Study participants were professionals from home care services in Mato Grosso do Sul. Data collection took place through the application of two online forms, from 2019 to 2020, one containing descriptive data of the services and their care and the other for validation of the home care flow protocol for children. It was used for data analysis and descriptive statistics. Results there was a predominance of 25 children with brain flexibility. Most classified as complex average according to the complexity and demands of care. Professionals and guidelines, procedures, assessment are responsible for training the family. The services do not have a flow protocol for the care of children. Conclusion Implications for Practice Services Present ability to deliver care and use the care plan and single use, advances in child care and solutions may still be presented. There is a practice of elaborating flow protocols and organization proposals that help professionals in their.
Curcumin is an important phenolic compound extracted from turmeric rhizomes (Curcuma longa Linn.) and is widely used as a natural food dye. This natural pigment has several beneficial health effects, ...such as antioxidant, antimicrobial, and anti-inflammatory activities. Furthermore, curcumin is highly sensitive in detecting acid-base reactions and can be used as a pH indicator to monitor food quality and applied as a biosensor in packaging. There is a growing concern about the environmental impacts of disposing of plastic food packaging, which has led to the emergence of natural packaging materials in the market that is biodegradable and edible.
This review summarizes the current research on the use of curcumin as a powerful compound for the development of biodegradable and edible food packaging films with smart and active functions.
The results from various studies show that curcumin is a multifunctional molecule and can successfully be exploited for application in all types of food packaging. Material developed using curcumin can be a smart package used to monitor the quality of food products such as meat, seafood, and beverages or active packaging can exhibit antioxidant and antimicrobial activities that are capable of improving the quality and conservation of food products.

In recent decades, the unique characteristics of natural fibers have promoted their use as reinforcement in polymeric composites. This is verified in several industrial sectors, from packaging to ...automotive and civil construction. Among the natural fibers, the raffia fiber extracted from the palm tree
and introduced in the Amazon region a long time ago; started to be considered for the production of polymeric composites only in recent years. For the first time, the effect of raffia fiber length and its alkali treatment on the mechanical properties of a polymer composite was disclosed. Tensile tests were performed in composites with raffia fibers randomly dispersed into terephthalate-based unsaturated polyester resin. The results showed an increase in the Young's moduli, confirmed by ANOVA, for the composite with both untreated and alkali-treated fibers in comparison to the plain polyester, which characterizes a stiffening effect. The composites with alkali treated fibers exhibited similar tensile strength values for all lengths; however, their strengths are lower than those for the untreated condition due to a weak raffia fiber/polyester matrix adhesion. Therefore, this work fills the current knowledge gap on raffia fiber incorporation in polyester matrix and valorizes this abundant Brazilian resource, providing additional information towards the use of raffia fiber in polymer composites.
Objetivo: avaliar o clima de segurança do paciente sob a ótica de trabalhadores do pronto-socorro (PS) de hospital universitário. Método: pesquisa transversal, realizada entre fevereiro e junho de ...2019, pelo emprego do Safety Attitudes Questionnaire Short Form (SAQ) a uma amostra de 27 trabalhadores atuantes no PS de um hospital universitário do Paraná, Brasil. Aos dados tabulados, procedeu-se análise descritiva, respeitando a pontuação média mínima (75 pontos) para avaliação positiva/negativa do clima de segurança. Resultados: prevaleceram trabalhadoras mulheres (63%) e técnicas de enfermagem (56%). O escore geral médio do SAQ entre a equipe foi de 62,5 ± 36 pontos. Na análise por dimensões/domínios, apenas “satisfação no trabalho” (80,9 ± 29,1) e “trabalho em equipe” (75,5 ± 29) obtiveram escores positivos. O pior domínio avaliado foi “percepção da gerência” (44,9 ± 35,8). Na apreciação por categorias profissionais, a avaliação mais positiva foi de trabalhadores administrativos (67,4 ± 30,8) e a negativa, de enfermeiras (54,9 ± 36,4). Conclusão: a avaliação do clima de segurança no PS apontou muitas fragilidades, tanto se apreciada por domínios como por categorias profissionais.
This study investigated the effects of bio-nanocomposite coatings developed using arrowroot starch (AA), cellulose nanocrystals (CNC), carnauba wax nanoemulsion (CWN), and Cymbopogon martinii and ...Mentha spicata essential oils (CEO and MEO, respectively) on the physicochemical, microbiological, bioactive, antioxidant, and aromatic characteristics of strawberries cv. ‘Oso Grande’ in refrigerated storage for 12 days. The coatings improved the shelf life and stability of strawberries, minimizing their weight loss (2.6–3.9 %), as well as changes in color and texture (except for those coated with CEO), titratable acidity, pH, soluble solids, anthocyanins, phenolic compounds, ascorbic acid content, and antioxidant activity compared with uncoated control strawberries. The bio-nanocomposite coatings containing MEO and CEO also exhibited antimicrobial activity, reduced visible fungal deterioration (40–60 %), and reduced microbial load (3.59–4.03 log CFU g−1 for mesophilic aerobic bacteria and 4.45–5.22 log CFU g−1 for fungi and yeast) during storage. They also significantly reduced the severity of decay caused by inoculation with Botrytis cinerea or Rhizopus stolonifer. The coatings altered the volatile profile of the fruits during storage, decreasing aldehyde and alcohol concentrations and increasing ester concentrations. Thus, these bio-nanocomposite coatings, especially those containing MEO, can be used as antimicrobial coating materials to preserve the post-harvest quality of fresh strawberries.

The library is a fundamental environment for the compilation of information, the spread of knowledge and the dissemination of culture, providing benefits such as the development of skills, creativity ...and the promotion of health. Despite the countless benefits of contacting books through libraries, there are still weaknesses in the democratization of access. Thus, in order to expand access to reading and its benefits, itinerant libraries were developed. In this sense, this work aims to describe experiences identified in the literature on itinerant and public libraries developed by projects as a health promotion strategy and impact on quality of life. An integrative literature review was carried out through the Virtual Health Library, PubMed and Google Scholar, 9 studies were analyzed that met the established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Despite the benefits of itinerant libraries to expand reading opportunities, it is necessary to encourage the creation and expansion of this type of library, to expand contact with the book, promoting learning, entertainment and health promotion.
La biblioteca es un entorno fundamental para la recopilación de información, la difusión del conocimiento y la difusión de la cultura, brindando beneficios como el desarrollo de habilidades, la creatividad y la promoción de la salud. A pesar de los innumerables beneficios de contactar con los libros a través de las bibliotecas, aún existen debilidades en la democratización del acceso. Así, con el fin de ampliar el acceso a la lectura y sus beneficios, se desarrollaron bibliotecas itinerantes. En este sentido, este trabajo tiene como objetivo describir las experiencias identificadas en la literatura sobre bibliotecas itinerantes y públicas desarrolladas por proyectos como estrategia de promoción de la salud e impacto en la calidad de vida. Se realizó una revisión integradora de la literatura a través de la Biblioteca Virtual en Salud, PubMed y Google Scholar, se analizaron 9 estudios que cumplieron con los criterios de inclusión y exclusión establecidos. A pesar de los beneficios de las bibliotecas itinerantes para ampliar las oportunidades de lectura, es necesario incentivar la creación y expansión de este tipo de bibliotecas, ampliar el contacto con el libro, promover el aprendizaje, el entretenimiento y la promoción de la salud.

Breast Cancer (BC) is a highly heterogeneous disease whose most aggressive behavior is displayed by triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), which lacks an efficient targeted therapy. Despite its ...controversial role, one of the proteins that having been linked with BC is Annexin A1 (AnxA1), which is a Ca+2 binding protein that acts modulating the immune system, cell membrane organization and vesicular trafficking. In this work we analyzed tissue microarrays of BC samples and observed a higher expression of AnxA1 in TNBCs and in lymph node metastasis. We also observed a positive correlation in primary tumors between expression levels of AnxA1 and its receptor, FPR1. Despite displaying a lesser strength, this correlation also exists in BC lymph node metastasis. In agreement, we have found that AnxA1 was highly expressed and secreted in the TNBC cell line MDA-MB-231 that also expressed high levels of FPR1. Furthermore, we demonstrated, by using the specific FPR1 inhibitor Cyclosporin H (CsH) and the immunosuppressive drug Cyclosporin A (CsA), the existence of an autocrine signaling of AnxA1 through the FPR1. Such signaling, elicited by AnxA1 upon its secretion, increased the aggressiveness and survival of MDA-MB-231 cells. In this manner, we demonstrated that CsA works very efficiently as an FPR1 inhibitor. Finally, by using CsA, we demonstrated that FPR1 inhibition decreased MDA-MB-231 tumor growth and metastasis formation in nude mice. These results indicate that FPR1 inhibition could be a potential intervention strategy to manage TNBCs displaying the characteristics of MDA-MB-231 cells. FPR1 inhibition can be efficiently achieved by CsA.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is characterized by a lack of estrogen and progesterone receptor expression (ESR and PGR, respectively) and an absence of human epithelial growth factor receptor ...(ERBB2) amplification. Approximately 15-20% of breast malignancies are TNBC. Patients with TNBC often have an unfavorable prognosis. In addition, TNBC represents an important clinical challenge since it does not respond to hormone therapy.
In this work, we integrated high-throughput mRNA sequencing (RNA-Seq) data from normal and tumor tissues (obtained from The Cancer Genome Atlas, TCGA) and cell lines obtained through in-house sequencing or available from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) to generate a unified list of differentially expressed (DE) genes. Methylome and proteomic data were integrated to our analysis to give further support to our findings. Genes that were overexpressed in TNBC were then curated to retain new potentially druggable targets based on in silico analysis. Knocking-down was used to assess gene importance for TNBC cell proliferation.
Our pipeline analysis generated a list of 243 potential new targets for treating TNBC. We finally demonstrated that knock-down of Guanylate-Binding Protein 1 (GBP1 ), one of the candidate genes, selectively affected the growth of TNBC cell lines. Moreover, we showed that GBP1 expression was controlled by epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) in breast cancer cell lines.
We propose that GBP1 is a new potential druggable therapeutic target for treating TNBC with enhanced EGFR expression.
