The perception of extreme states prevailing in contemporary society and mental health systems does not give justice to the transformational aspect of the process of extreme states. It generally views ...mental distress from the confinements of the perspective of objectivist epistemology and medicalization, disregarding its potential valuable aspects. Consequently, extreme states are reduced to biological malfunction, which renders the process meaningless and can have negative social implications. It is proposed in the article for extreme states to instead be viewed as a call to become aware of the context that the human being finds unbearable. Following this, the emphasis is put on the view of extreme states as an invitation to hold space for exploration and the potential emergence of new ways of being. The aim is not to minimize the suffering that can accompany extreme states, but to bring the meaning-making aspect of extreme states to the forefront.
Covid19-pandemic has had a profound impact on the way we live and on the social reality in the world around us. Except for the enormous strain on public and health of individuals, it has affected ...social functioning to great extent, at least temporarily. It has sped up digitalization and forced social activities to transfer to the digital realm to an unprecedented level. It has simultaenously confined social actors to their geographical localities. In all of this, it has offered an opportunity of different observational point of human being in the world in the context of late modernity. It is possible to assume that this kind of social situation has the potential to affect the sense of ontological security of social actors, as well as their experience of space. The contradictory implications of the transfer of the social activitiy to the digital communicative spaces to current extent are also discussed.

Suvremena digitalna okruženja sve više mijenjaju načine na koje živimo te bivamo u interakciji. Intimni odnosi su jedno od područja na koja ona utječu. Mobilne aplikacije za upoznavanje su na početku trećeg desetljeća 21. stoljeća sve uobičajeniji način upoznavanja potencijalnih partnera. Svrha ovog rada je istražiti implikacije ovakvog načina upoznavanja te pobliže promotriti način na koji online upoznavanje mijenja područje intimnih odnosa u dobu mobilnih aplikacija, kao i obratiti pozornost na kompleksnost navedenog fenomena.
At the beginning of the 21st century, we find ourselves at the threshold of a new level in the development of digital media. Digital media environments are going beyond the scope of fixed and ...isolated social environments to become more and more integrated in the everyday lives of individuals up to the point at which it is difficult to distinguish between being connected to the internet and living in the real world. Social networks contribute to this phenomenon since they represent a digital environment within which we are becoming increasingly immersed at the global level. The focus of this text is Instagram as a network whose functioning is organized around the visual element. The aim of this paper is to consider the implications of digital environments by using Instagram as an example within the framework of the theoretical and conceptual framework of digital media environments.
Pandemija uzrokovana koronavirusom imala je dubok utjecaj na načine na koji živimo, kao i na društvenu stvarnost u svijetu oko nas. Osim ogromnog opterećenja na javno zdravstvo te pojedinačna ...zdravstvena stanja, utjecala je na čitav niz promjena vezanih uz socijalno funkcioniranje. Ubrzala je digitalizaciju i prijelaz društvenih aktivnosti na digitalno područje u dosad neviđenom opsegu, a s druge strane je ograničila društvene aktere na lokalna zemljopisna područja. U svemu tome pružila nam se prilika da zauzmemo novu točku promatranja ljudskog bivanja u svijetu kasne modernosti. Moguće je pretpostaviti da navedena društvena situacija posjeduje potencijal utjecaja na osjećaj ontološke sigurnosti društvenih aktera, kao i na njihovo iskustvo prostora. Kontradiktorne implikacije prijelaza društvene aktivnosti na digitalne komunikativne prostore u trenutnom opsegu također se promišljaju.

Namjera je ovoga rada upozoriti na ukorijenjenost sebstva u kontekstu njegove formacije i egzistencije. Rad se temelji na nalazima intersubjektivne psihoanalize, koja smatra da se sebstvo formira i ...kasnije egzistira unutar odreðenih ljudskih intersubjektivnih sistema. S obzirom na to da oni na taj način utječu na organizaciju sebstva, promatranje sebstva kao izoliranog ili transhistorijskog entiteta problematično je. Istodobno, intersubjektivni sistemi nužno su ukorijenjeni u širem kulturalnom sistemu, što ujedno znači da se i sebstvo formira i postoji unutar specifičnoga kulturnog konteksta koji utječe na njegovu organizaciju. To se u radu pokazuje na primjeru suvremenoga sebstva, čiji su se specifični problemi počeli zamjećivati u kliničkoj praksi 1960-ih godina. Zajedničkim nazivom najbolje ih se može okarakterizirati kao "tendenciju fragmentaciji", fenomen koji je primijetio psihoanalitičar Heinz Kohut. Taj se fenomen u ovom radu povezuje s kontekstom formacije i egzistencije sebstva u suvremenom društvu. Tako je glavni cilj rada na inovativan način povezati suvremene kliničke nalaze sa sociološkim kontekstom suvremenoga društva. Nastavljajući se na ovu teorijsku perspektivu, autorica nudi i vlastito sociopsihoanalitičko objašnjenje problema s kojima se susreće suvremeno sebstvo.

The aim of this paper is to show the embeddedness of the self in the context of its formation and existence. The paper is based on the findings of intersubjective psychoanalysis, which finds the self ...to be formed, and later to exist, within certain human intersubjective systems. Thus the perspectives which tend to observe the self as an isolated or transhistorical entity are problematic. Intersubjective systems are also embedded within a wider cultural system, meaning that the self is also formed and exists in a specific cultural context which influences its organization. This is shown on the case of the modern self, whose specific problems became evident in the clinical praxis of the sixties in the twentieth century. Those problems are best described by the phenomenon called 'tendency towards fragmentation', observed by psychoanalyst Heinz Kohut. The phenomenon is, in this paper, linked to the context of formation and existence of the self in modern society. The general aim of this paper is thus to place modern clinical findings into a wider sociological context in a new way. Building on this perspective, the author also offers her own sociopsychoanalytic explanation of the problems of the modern self. Adapted from the source document.
