Teaching tools, such as computer drawings in lecture templates, "step by step" presentations, Android application, got introduced so as to improve teaching process quality in Descriptive geometry ...subject, at the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Nis. Advanced teaching methods in practice classes, and on-the-screen video beam projected "step by step" presentations were available only to half of the enrolled students (experimental group -the EG), while the rest attended the practice classes deploying classical teaching methods, and manual drawings on the blackboard (control group--the CG). Deliberation of data on previous education and intellectual capabilities of students involved proved that the groups do not differ. Comparative analysis of the final results in academic year of 2016/17 indicated that in the EG students there was a higher knowledge of the subject matter, and higher exam pass rate. The conclusion is that the application of the advanced teaching methods makes learning and teaching process more successful, thus their usage in the future is recommended.
The free-form objects are in expansion in the architecture of the 21st century, especially in high developed countries as Japan. Design and performing of free-form objects prefers knowledge of ...parametric modeling in softwares such as Rhinoceros. Before designing free-form objects, it is necessary to obtain knowledge of geometric surfaces and their use in architectural practice. This was also noticed by the Faculty of Engineering and Design, Hosei University in Tokyo, Japan. Subject Geometric Surfaces was introduced to give students a high-quality knowledge in this field, that they can apply for more creative designing of their architectural objects, which will be shown in this paper.
Digital three-dimensional models of the existing architectonic structures are
created for the purpose of digitalization of the archive documents,
presentation of buildings or an urban entity or for ...conducting various
analyses and tests. Traditional methods for the creation of 3D models of the
existing buildings assume manual measuring of their dimensions, using the
photogrammetry method or laser scanning. Such approaches require considerable
time spent in data acquisition or application of specific instruments and
equipment. The goal of this paper is presentation of the procedure for the
creation of 3D models of the existing structures using the globally available
web resources and free software packages on standard PCs. This shortens the
time of the production of a digital three-dimensional model of the structure
considerably and excludes the physical presence at the location. In addition,
precision of this method was tested and compared with the results acquired in
a previous research.

Three dimensional virtual modelling of existing objects (buildings or structures) is applicable in various fields of science and practice: architecture, civil engineering, urbanism, geology, ...mechanical engineering, video games and movie industry, medicine, archeology, safety of people and goods, etc. Photogrammetry, as a method of obtaining data of three-dimensional spatial structures based on two-dimensional images, is used, thanks to a number of software packages, for creating 3D models of objects and other spatial structures. This study analyses terrestrial semiautomatic and automatic photogrammetric methods, both presented through process of creating 3D model of an old existing historical building - Barutana (military gun powder warehouse), built in Ottoman empire, located in the fortress of the city of Niš in Serbia. The aim of the paper is comparison of two photogrammetric methods - semiautomatic and automatic in accuracy and efficiency through case study of Barutana.
Photogrammetry is a method of producing models of three-dimensional spatial structures based on two-dimensional photos, using a diverse range of software packages. In this study, using a comparative method, the terrestrial semi-automatic digital photogrammetric method is analysed, as well as the terrestrial automatic method of photogrammetry. Both methods are presented in the case study of 3D models of the remains of the Nis Palace with an Octagon dating back to the Roman period and located on the town’s fields.
The traditional method of architectural project presentations involves the use of a printed material on which the building is presented by using of two-dimensional drawings and images. The development of smart portable devices with special sensors and greater processing power and contemporary methods of augmented and virtual reality motivated authors to investigate possibilities of their applications in architectural presentations. The main focus of the paper is the development of modern, portable systems for architectural project presentations which will be presented on a case study of the house. For this purpose, a method of virtual and augmented reality is used for upgrading traditional printed catalogue of the project. This approach enables easier and better understanding of all types of architectural objects and urban complex, allowing the user intuitive spatial overview of architectural work.
There are many reasons for construction work on the facade of an object over time. Such work can positively or negatively affect the architectural value of a building. In Serbia there are numerous ...examples of negative changes of facade geometry in the period following the Second World War. Facade decoration of many important buildings from the period of classicism, secession and early modernism was completely removed, so that today's appearance can be hardly connected to the original. In this paper, the process of digital reconstruction and presentation of the former building facade on the corner of Dusanova street and Prijezdina street in Nis, Serbia, is presented. Method of semiautomatic photogrammetry is used for 3D model creation of the former facade geometry and presented in real locations using augmented reality technology.
The main objective of this paper is to develop a novel approach for linear kitchen layout design which utilizes information from existing layouts via machine learning algorithms. With the growing ...popularity of large-scale virtual 3D environments for architectural visualization and the game industry, the manual interior design of virtual scenes becomes prohibitively expensive in terms of time and resources. In our approach, the machine learning model automatically generates layout suggestions. The proposed procedural kitchen generation (PKG) model is a pipeline of six Machine Learning (ML) classifiers that are trained and tested on a kitchen layout dataset created by interior designers. The performances of the model are evaluated for the following classifiers: Random forest, Decision tree, AdaBoost, Naive Bayes, MLP, SVM, and L2 Logistic regression. Random forest, as the best performing classifier is used in the final PKG model, and integrated into Unity Engine for automatic 3D kitchen generation and presentation. The PKG model is evaluated in the quantitative and perceptual study, showing better performance than the prior rule-based method. The perceptual study results demonstrate that our tool can be used to speed up designer's work, improve communication with clients, and educate interior design students.

U ovom istraživanju unapređen ...je konceptualni automatski sistem za prezentaciju trodimenzionalnih modela arhitektonskih objekata metodom proširene stvarnosti. Razvijen je novi algoritam za pravilan prikaz okluzije u sistemima prezentacije arhitektonskih objekata metodom proširene stvarnosti. Delovi ovog sistema su detaljnije razrađeni u cilju rešavanja određenih problema realističnosti prezentacije 3D modela arhitektonskih objekata.
