Članek predlaga klasifikacijski sistem za zgodnjesrednjeveške naglavne obročke v vzhodnih Alpah. S pomočjo stratigrafske in topografsko-kronološke analize izbranih grobišč vzpostavlja relativno in ...absolutno kronologijo teh obročkov.
Čeprav Slovani danes naseljujejo največji del Evrope, je njihova preteklost slabo poznana, saj so razmeroma pozno stopili v luč pisnih virov. Župe so bile osnovni gradniki staroslovanske družbe. Avtor analizira njihov pomen za razumevanje starih Slovanov.
If the term “prehistory” is used for the time and space not “seen” by written records, then there are “prehistoric” areas also in the time, which is generally considered “history”. In this sense, ...there are still vast areas of Europe in the early medieval period, where the state of written records can be described as “prehistoric”. It appears to be true especially for the regions settled by the Slavs. Among them is the area of the present-day Slovenia, where Bled lies. The latter does not “enter the history” before 1004.
The framework for the issue discussed in the article is provided by the works by Vladimir Ya. Propp. He described the living conditions in societies dependent on natural forces, where the main means ...of controlling the natural environment were magic. The same conditions influenced the character of rule in such societies. It can be assumed that individual zupas were basic political units of the early Slavic world. In the fractal sense, each zupa is a true pars pro toto of the Slavs as a whole. The illustrative example of the early Slavic zupa Bled (in north-western Slovenia) is discussed in the article. The author also discusses the character of Slavic principalities that existed in the East Alpine Region in the early Middle Ages, that are Liburnia, Carantania, Carniola, and Dudlebian principality. PUBLICATION ABSTRACT
Pristava in Bled belongs among those archaeological sites which, in the extent and inter-connectedness of the information they provide, represent a pattern in which numerous general processes are ...revealed. In solving the puzzle of Pristava, we are also to a great extent settling altogether the generally unresolved problems of the Eastern Alps in the Early Middle Ages.Firstly, a taphonomic analysis of the settlement is presented. This is followed by a classification of the earthenware and its absolute dating. In order to do this, a completely new dating procedure was developed. Although by no means simple, it has nevertheless proved to be both applicable and successful. It is now generally available and of assistance to all.
