Predictive control has emerged as an alternative for the control of power converters for photovoltaic applications. In this work, a predictive control scheme is proposed to obtain the maximum power ...point in a photovoltaic array coupled directly to a grid-connected DC/AC power converter. The architecture considered avoids the use of the DC/DC stage, reducing the losses related to this component. The introduced control strategy is proved by simulations in Matlab&Simulink, demonstrating flexibility to include the non-linear behaviour of the system and good performance in terms of DC voltage and AC current, respectively.
The identification of EPEC in clinical laboratories is based on the determination of the serotypes by agglutination with O and H antiserum. Currently the proper diagnosis of EPEC should be done by ...the identification of the intimin gen (eaeA) by PCR.
To compare the diagnosis of EPEC by serotyping and by PCR.
We collected EPEC strains, identify by their O antigen, from 4 clinical laboratories in Lima from diarrheal samples in children less than 5 years of age. In those strains we have searched for virulence genes by a real time multiplex PCR for the diarrheagenic E. coli.
We collected 113 strains; 82% from children less than 2 years of age. Only 15 strains (13.3%) had the intimin gene and therefore a confirmatory diagnosis of EPEC. In addition we found 3 enterotoxigenic (ETEC), 3 shiga toxin-producing (STEC), 1 enteroagreggative (EAEC) and 1 enteroinvasive (EIEC) strains.
PCR should be use for the proper identification of EPEC. However, molecular methods are still not easily available in clinical laboratories worldwide.
La persistencia de bacilos viables y la monoterapia con diamino-difenil-sulfona (DDS) son los principales factores que favorecen las recidivas de la lepra. Presentamos 33 pacientes con lepra ...lepromatosa (LL) diagnosticada 7 a 48 años antes de la recidiva, que recibieron monoterapia con DDS durante 4 a 38 años. Veintiocho fueron tratados, además, con poliquimioterapia (PQT) irregular, no supervisada, desde 1983. Cinco sólo recibieron DDS. Éstos presentaron la recidiva entre 13 y 20 años después de suspenderla. Las recidivas se diagnosticaron por reaparición de las lesiones clínicas o por la presencia de nuevas zonas anestésicas; todas se confirmaron con la baciloscopia y, en 20 casos, por la biopsia de piel. Cuatro pacientes presentaron en la biopsia de la recidiva, lepra indeterminada (LI) y uno lepra dimorfa tuberculoide (LDT), todos con presencia de bacilos intraneurales; los demás fueron LL. Dos pacientes recidivaron, aun con PQT razonablemente supervisada. Los demás curaron con PQT supervisada. Los factores predisponentes para la recidiva fueron: monoterapia con DDS por varios años; PQT irregular con dosis inadecuadas, sin supervisión del tratamiento; abandono de la PQT, y relación inadecuada entre el paciente y el personal de salud. Las recidivas de la lepra se deben buscar en todos los pacientes colombianos con lepra multibacilar que fueron tratados con DDS solo durante años. La clínica, la baciloscopia y la biopsia individualmente o en conjunto son métodos confiables para establecer las recidivas.
The objective of this instrumental research was to explore the factorial validity, reliability and other psychometric properties of the GPP-I, Gordon Personal Profile Inventory (1972; 1994) in a ...sample in the city of Bogotá - Colombia. For this purpose, there were 600 men and women over 18 years of age living in the metropolitan area of the city of Bogotá to whom the scales were applied. The results indicate that the PPG subtest adjusted to a tetrafactorial behavior that validated the existence of factors such as Ascendancy, Responsibility, Stability and Sociability. The IPG sub-test yielded a pentafactorial solution where the factors of Stealth, Originality, Personal Relationships, Vigor and a new factor called Emotional Self-Control proposed by Gordon emerged. The Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficients of the P-IPG scales ranged between .60 and .72. In conclusion, it can be affirmed that the P-IPG test is valid and reliable for its use in the Colombian context.

The introduced control strategy is proved by simulations in Matlab&Simulink, demonstrating flexibility to include the non-linear behaviour of the system and satisfying performance in terms of DC voltage and AC current control.
En el presente documento se estructura el planeamiento estratégico del departamento de Bolívar a partir de un análisis detallado de los factores que impactan directamente en la dinámica social, ...económica y política de esta región logrando identificar así las fortalezas, debilidades, oportunidades y amenazas existentes. Basados en el modelo teórico propuesto por D´Alessio (2012) se construyeron las diferentes matrices cuyo resultado derivó en las principales estrategias a implementar para cumplir con los objetivos de largo plazo, sus respectivos objetivos de corto plazo y por ende en el logro de la visión planteada para el departamento en el año 2030. Bolívar es una región importante dentro del contexto económico colombiano que ha venido creciendo de manera sostenida (al igual que el país) en los últimos diez años, sin embargo este crecimiento ha estado tradicionalmente concentrado en la ciudad de Cartagena como polo de atracción de inversión turística e industrial. Lo anterior ha generado una brecha con el resto del departamento que se refleja en los indicadores de bienestar social como educación, salud, saneamiento básico y pobreza. Las estrategias propuestas en el presente plan se centran en atender las necesidades primarias de la población del departamento como pilar fundamental para el desarrollo de mayor competitividad.

Direct oral anticoagulants have emerged as the drugs that have changed the management of the antithrombotic treatment in the last 15 years. Their advantages, like a more friendly way of ...anticoagulation and their lower risk of bleeding, especially in the brain, have positioned these new anticoagulants as the first drug of choice in the two most frequent indications of anticoagulation, atrial fibrillation, and the venous thromboembolic disease. However, not all the patients can receive these agents, not all the direct oral anticoagulants have the same characteristics, and most importantly, not all the diseases with an indication of an anticoagulant drug can be treated with them. Therefore, it is mandatory that all the faculties involved in the management of these drugs must know them in depth, to decide the best treatment for the patient. This position paper, from a group of experts in anticoagulation in Argentina, can help the general practitioner in the daily use of direct oral anticoagulants based on the new evidence and the experience of a wide group of professionals. The way we relate to the anticoagulant treatment has changed in the last years. The doctors who work with them must also do so.
