The COVID-19 pandemic has increasingly demanded the implementation of online learning in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the indicators influencing the effectiveness of online learning in ...Indonesian higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study employed a mixed-methods approach. We conducted an online survey of 201 lecturers teaching courses during the even semester of 2019/2020 and 1,983 students in 18 higher educations then followed up with an online interview with the lecturers, the head of the study program, and the institute of quality assurance of four chosen institutions. The results showed that besides the lecturer’s information technology capabilities, the new indicators of online learning effectiveness in higher education during the COVID-19 pandemic were the availability of assessment guidelines, semester learning plan guidelines, academic position, type of lecturer publication, lecturer certification, and workload.
Wayang Kayon filling is often understood as an ornament that is interpreted separately. The fillings are composed in such a way that they interact. The interaction between Wayang Kayon fillings forms ...landscape perception. This study aims to explain landscape perception in Wayang Kayon figures. The theory used to explain the landscapes depicted on Wayang Kayon figures is the perception theory. This research uses qualitative methods with an interpretive-iconographic approach. The Wayang Kayon filling is three composed layers of the structure, including pucukan, genukan, and lengkeh. The filling found on the pucukan Wayang Kayon is a tree of life form that is the landscape perception as mountain and forest. The filling of the genukan and lengkeh on the Wayang Kayon Blumbangan figure shows the ponds, animals, plants, and/or mythological creatures formation that are the landscape perception as an ecosystem around a water source. The filling of the genukan and lengkeh on the Wayang Kayon Gapuran figure shows the gate formation that is the landscape perception as a landscape of sacred buildings. Wayang Kayon filling is depicted through pasemon artistic concept so that it is understood as native art. This research is expected to be a guide for shadow puppet spectators to understand the Wayang Kayon figures filling and for shadow puppet artists to pay attention to the Wayang Kayon filling results creations so that the interaction between fillings still perceives the landscape.
Industrial revolution 4.0 accelerates the need for resources with contextual skills relevant to technological advances. Renewable energy is one of the global issues that need to be followed up into ...one of the concerns in education. The STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) learning concept is seen as a learning innovation that accommodates the skills needed in the era of the industrial revolution 4.0. In addition, through the design thinking approach, students are facilitated to realize creativity or ideas in solving surrounding problems. This study aims to reconstruct the STEAM learning model with a combination of design thinking approaches to renewable energy learning materials. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to data sources from the literature. The analysis tool used is Miles and Huberman interactive model data analysis. The purpose of this research is to formulate a combined framework of the STEAM learning model and design thinking that can be applied to renewable energy learning materials.

Dengan demikian, modul elektronik layak digunakan pada proses pembelajaran fisika.
This study applied transdisciplinary STEM based on Among’s philosophy. This innovative program provides experiences using project-based learning (PBL) with limited laboratory facilities for ...technology learning. Involved 53 pre-service physics teachers in a physics laboratory course with the affordable cost laser creation project. STEM program using correlation study with a pre-experiment one-group pre-/post-test design approach. The instruments used include an engineering problem-solving cognition test and a motivational questionnaire regarding attitude, interest, and learning response, as well as reinforced by project report documentation. The results showed a significant improvement in engineering problem-solving cognition and motivation in STEM, with a moderately strong correlation between them. Among’s method and lab hands-on engagement contribute to a better engineering understanding and positively impact motivation. Utilizing equipment and materials at affordable costs can effectively integrate technology and engineering into practices.
This research comprehensively analyzes students’ Chemistry Learning Experience (CLE) during the COVID-19 pandemic, comparing online learning experiences with traditional face-to-face instruction in ...the post-pandemic phase. Employing a quantitative approach and leveraging the Rasch model, the study focuses on capturing the nuances of individual student perceptions, an aspect often overlooked in group-centric statistical analyses. One hundred students (49 males and 51 females) participated in both study phases. Segmented into behavioral tendencies, content perceptions, and specific learning needs, the evaluation tools provided insights into the students’ CLE across the two instructional modalities. Results from the stacking analysis revealed a positive shift in CLE post-pandemic, with students demonstrating a better grasp of and attitude toward chemistry in face-to-face settings. Racking analysis further underscored the changing difficulty perceptions of specific content items across the two learning environments. Gender-based patterns in CLE were also evident, with male students expressing a more favorable view of online learning during the pandemic than their female counterparts. The research findings advocate for a blended learning approach, harnessing the strengths of both online and traditional instructional methods. Furthermore, insights into gender-specific learning experiences emphasize the need for inclusive and adaptive teaching strategies, ensuring optimal learning experiences for all students. The study underscores educators’ and students’ resilience and adaptability in navigating the challenges of the pandemic. It offers valuable insights for future educational strategies in chemistry education.
Critical thinking skills are the 21st-century life skills that are needed by students. However, in elementary schools, there are no instruments that are truly effective and efficient to measure ...critical thinking skills. This research aims to develop an open-ended question assessment instrument to measure students' critical-thinking skills, to test its validity, reliability, and practicality. The research method used is Research and Development with the ADDIE model by Borg and Gall (2003) includes the stage: analyze, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Data collection techniques used were test, questionnaire, and documentation methods. In this research, there are several points to be discussed namely: (1) research and information collection, (2) design, (3) developing prototype, and (4) preliminary field test. The results of this research are in the form of question-items validity test that are valid and reliable criteria of 8 open-ended questions. Difficulty levels include difficult, moderate, and easy. The discrimination power is quite good. The students' and teachers' responses to the test instrument are categorized as high. The conclusion of this research is the open-ended question instrument for evaluating students' critical-thinking skills is valid, reliable, and practical. The open-ended question instrument is an effective assessment instrument to measure students' critical-thinking skills by taking into several important aspects such as learning materials in the curriculum, characteristics of students' cognitive development, and the functioning of the instrument and good grammar.
