The results of the testing and operation of the Arktika-M highly elliptical orbit hydrometeorological space system are presented. The advantages of highly elliptical orbits, the main characteristics ...and tasks of the Arktika-M No. 1 satellite payload are considered. The description is given of the ground-based segment and resulting information products required to solve problems for the benefit of socioeconomic development of northern Russia.

The paper describes the results of designing an integrated starter-generator for a diesel engine. The starter-generator is based on a permanent-magnet synchronous machine. It has a single-tooth ...winding. It is divided into two independent parts powered by individual semiconductor converters. The designed machine has a starting torque of 1300 N m and a power up to 50 kW in the generator mode.
Results of saturation of some high-speed steels with nitrogen in hydrogen-free plasma of glow discharge are presented. There were analysed bone mineral density (BMD) and spine roentgenograms in 15 candidates to heart transplantation and 24 recipients of heart transplantation in early (till 1 year) as far as late ...(till 12 years) period following operation. BMD showed axial osteopenia in terminal heart failure and early period after heart transplantation. There was progressive fail of axial and hip BMD in late period following heart transplantation to the degree of osteoporosis (axial osteoporosis was 3 times more often in late then in early period after operation while femur osteoporosis was only in late period). Femur BMD in neck, trochanter and Ward triangle inverse correlated with cumulated prednisolone dose. Ward triangle BMD inverse correlated with cumulative cyclosporine dose while axial BMD did not correlate any immunosuppressive drug. Vertebra fractures arised in terminal heart failure and did not progress after heart transplantation.
The charge-exchange reaction $\pi^-p \rightarrow n\,\omega(783)\phi(1020)$,
$\omega \rightarrow \pi^+\pi^-\pi^0$, $\phi \rightarrow K^+K^-$ is studied with
the upgraded VES facility (U-70, Protvino) ...in the interaction of a 29 GeV pion
beam with a beryllium target. The distribution over the invariant mass of the
system $M_{\omega\phi}$ shows a near-threshold signal. A partial wave analysis
reveals that the scalar state ($J^{PC}=0^{++}$) dominates in this mass region.
The observed signal can be described with a contribution of the known
resonance $f_0(1710)$. Using OPE approximation for the reaction $\pi^-p
\rightarrow n\, f_0(1710)$ the product of branching fractions is found to be:
$Br(f_0(1710)\rightarrow \pi\pi)\cdot Br(f_0(1710)\rightarrow \omega\phi) =
(4.8 \pm 1.2) \cdot 10^{-3}$.
Analyses of frequency, rate, main rise mechanisms of hyperparatyroidism and its role in bone losses were estimated in crossmatch research of 158 kidney and 25 heart recipients. Hyperparathyroidism ...frequency was more following kidney then heart transplantation (74% vs 36%, p=0,000), PTH level being higher in kidney recipients and in women higher then in men with kidney transplant. Hyperparathyroidism in women was associated with hemodialysis duration before operation and the estrogen level which was more in pre- then in postmenopause while PTH level was lesser in pre- then postmenopause. In men PTH level as in heart as in kidney groups was associated with renal function and cumulative prednisolone doses. Hyperparathyroidism in men and women after kidney transplantation followed aхial BMD losses so as in men after kidney and heart transplantation -periferal skeleton (femoral neck) BMD losses.
