This study investigates (1) the effect of quality information on quality performance through process control and (2) the moderating role of shop floor leadership on the relationship between quality ...information and quality performance in the context of manufacturing plants on a global basis. The moderated mediation analysis with a bootstrapping approach was employed to analyse data for hypotheses testing. The data is from the fourth-round dataset of the High- Performance Manufacturing Project, collected from manufacturing plants worldwide. The results indicate that (1) quality information is positively associated with quality performance through process control, and (2) shop floor leadership (i.e., supervisory interaction facilitation) positively moderates the indirect effect of quality information on quality performance; that is, the shop floor leadership practice strengthens the effect of quality information on quality performance through process control. This study also has a practical implication for top managers who should consider the vital role of leadership practices adopted by shop floor supervisors in implementing total quality management practices and should raise awareness that leadership practices are not only for the ‘C-suite’ but also for shop floor supervisors.
Raphiocarpus taygiangensis, a new species of Gesneriaceae family discovered in Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province, Central Vietnam, is here described and illustrated. The new species is diagnosed ...by the combination of its stem up to 2 m long, sericeous hairs on young stem, leaf petiole and adaxial mid-vein, sparsely and minutely serrate leaf margin, axillary inflorescence spreading along stem, sparsely long gland-tipped hairs on peduncle, pedicel, calyx, outside corolla and pistil, calyx 5-disparted from base, purplish white flower with purple stripes inside corolla tube, and dish-shaped stigma formed by 2 semi-orbicular lobes horizontally expanding. Distinct features of the new species and its morphologically closest congener, Rhaphiocarpus axillaris, are compared and discussed. The conservation status of the described species is estimated as Vulnerable (VU D2) according to the IUCN Red List Criteria.
Unzipping carbon nanotubes (CNTs) is one of the methods to produce graphene nanoribbons. In this research, we investigated the effect of reaction temperature and concentration of H2SO4 acid on ...graphene nanoribbons (GNRs) formation. By increasing the reaction temperature, the transformation of CNTs to form GNRs is getting better. The results showed that the unzipping process was strongly affected by temperature. At 100 °C temperature, GNRs obtained 100% yield with a purity of +99%C and surface area of 250 m2/g. Furthermore, H2SO4 acid is the only environment for the wet chemical reaction, it doesn’t affect GNRs quality so the low concentration of acid will be utilized and contribute to reducing the environmental impact in the world. The GNRs will be a potential material for both anode and cathode in batteries and supercapacitors to get higher energy density and fast charging properties.

Contamination of water resources by nitrate has become an important problem in recent decades. Although nitrate is not toxic, it can be converted into nitrite and cause serious harm to human health. ...One of the most effective methods of nitrate removal is the use of adsorbents. The objective of this study was to evaluate the nitrate adsorption efficiency from biogas solution by using melaleuca biochar that was pyrolysed at 700oC. Physical and chemical characteristics of melaleuca biochar were determined using a variety of methods including scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) test. Nitrate concentration was measured using a UV spectrophotometer with a wavelength of 660 nm. The results showed that the optimum conditions for the effective adsorption of nitrate ion onto melaleuca biochar were found to be pH 4, biochar dosage of 1 g L-1, and retention time of 15 min. The experimental data were fitted to different adsorption isotherms models (Langmuir, Freundlich models). The maximum nitrate adsorption capacity of melaleuca biochar was 15.5 mg g−1.
