The interest in the development of nanoscale plasmonic technologies has dramatically increased in recent years. The photonic properties of plasmonic nanopatterns can be controlled and tuned via their ...size, shape, or the arrangement of their constituents. In this work, we propose a 2D hybrid metallic polymeric nanostructure based on the octupolar framework with enhanced sensing property. We analyze its plasmonic features both numerically and experimentally, demonstrating the higher values of their relevant figures of merit: we estimated a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) enhancement factor of 9 × 107 and a SPR bulk sensitivity of 430 nm/RIU. In addition, our nanostructure exhibits a dual resonance in the visible and near-infrared region, enabling our system toward multispectral plasmonic analysis. Finally, we illustrate our design engineering strategy as enabled by electron beam lithography by the outstanding performance of a SERS-based biosensor that targets the Shiga toxin 2a, a clinically relevant bacterial toxin. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a SERS fingerprint of this toxin has been evidenced.
There is an increasing demand for electric vehicles, because of the need to reduce exhaust gas pollutants and carbon emissions. The electric motor technology for the drive motor has prompted ...considerable debate, since the optimum solution depends both on motor properties but also on technology readiness. The hardware-in-the loop emulator mimics the behaviour of the vehicle, providing a test environment to evaluate potential drive motors experimentally. Because the vehicle efficiency depends on how it is driven, standard vehicle drive cycles are used to provide benchmark comparisons. Vehicle kinematics are represented by a vehicle model, using a mechanically coupled load machine to apply the calculated model torque to the motor under test. The principles of operation of the test rig are demonstrated by comparing an industrial induction machine and permanent magnet motor in terms of energy consumption and controllability; experimental results are presented. As Apple devices have become more popular on our campus, management is a greater necessity. SUNY Geneseo's desktop management of Apple devices has evolved from treating them as individual, personal ...devices to deployment built, domain bound, remotely accessible, and profile manager controlled computers. We will demonstrate how we use Apple Profile Manager, Netinstall, and other tools to tame our Apple desktop deployment.
