We present results from a ROSAT HRI study of 11 distant (z ∼ 0.2–0.3) Abell clusters. We have performed a morphological analysis to search for and quantify substructure in the clusters. About 70 per ...cent of the sample shows significant evidence of substructure in the form of centroid shift or obvious X-ray clumps. We examine the clusters for the presence of cooling flows, and determine the physical properties of the ICM by deprojecting the HRI data. Nine of the clusters have central cooling times less than the age of the system, in agreement with fractions determined from nearby, X-ray-bright samples. Additional PSPC results are presented for four clusters in the sample, and ASCA results for six clusters. The temperatures and metallicities for these distant clusters appear to be consistent with nearby clusters of similar richness.
The present prospective longitudinal study describes and explores the impact of demographic change and political reforms on the growing risk of suffering from mental disorders and subsequent ...hospitalization. The statistical analysis is based on all insured individuals who were 50 years and older during the years 1993 to 2003 (n = 453 609) from a statutory sickness fund, the Gmünder Ersatzkasse. Event-history analyses show no linear but a rather u-shaped relationship between age and the risk to be given in-patient treatment for mental disorders. However, the age effect shrinks significantly when the number of previous hospital stays, the proximity to death, and the marital status are statistically controlled. On the other hand, the number of psychic disorders as a minor diagnosis has grown robustly after the legal requirement for fully documenting hospital cases according to section sign 301 SGB V and after the legal decision to introduce DRG refunding in 2000. Since the risk of in-hospital treatment of a psychic minor diagnosis increases most in somatic and not in psychiatric clinics, we suspect an up-grading effect.
We present X-ray data for all main-sequence and subgiant stars of spectral types A, F, G, and K and luminosity classes IV and V listed in the Bright Star Catalogue that have been detected as X-ray ...sources in the ROSAT all-sky survey; several stars without luminosity class are also included. The catalogue contains 980 entries yielding an average detection rate of 32 percent. In addition to count rates, source detection parameters, hardness ratios, and X-ray fluxes we also list X-ray luminosities derived from Hipparcos parallaxes.

The management of information flow in the order processing activities of small enterprises is not always understood. An inefficient supply chain is often the result of the lack of timely and ...accessible inter-firm information and data exchange. Small suppliers often do not have the technology infrastructure and capable resources available for proper integration with supply chains. This research investigated suppliers and fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) retailers, adopting business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce. Small businesses are the focus of this research, as they contribute to a large portion of the South African economy and play an important role in the supply chains of retailers. Case study research using evidence obtained from nine small, medium and micro enterprises (SMMEs) and suppliers located in the Western Cape, South Africa, was used. It was found that small suppliers have different processes for conducting business with various retailers. Literature revealed little evidence of using the Internet as an enabling technology in on-line order processing. From the analysis, nine improvement areas were identified to enhance the conduct of efficient B2B order processing and associated information flow. These improvement areas were merged with four factors that were identified in a framework when adopting e-supply chains. This resulted in the proposition of guidelines for small suppliers when adopting B2B e-commerce for order processing.
