Fault diagnosis is essentially a kind of pattern recognition. The measured signal samples usually distribute on nonlinear low-dimensional manifolds embedded in the high-dimensional signal space, so ...how to implement feature extraction, dimensionality reduction and improve recognition performance is a crucial task. In this paper a novel machinery fault diagnosis approach based on a statistical locally linear embedding (S-LLE) algorithm which is an extension of LLE by exploiting the fault class label information is proposed. The fault diagnosis approach first extracts the intrinsic manifold features from the high-dimensional feature vectors which are obtained from vibration signals that feature extraction by time-domain, frequency-domain and empirical mode decomposition (EMD), and then translates the complex mode space into a salient low-dimensional feature space by the manifold learning algorithm S-LLE, which outperforms other feature reduction methods such as PCA, LDA and LLE. Finally in the feature reduction space pattern classification and fault diagnosis by classifier are carried out easily and rapidly. Rolling bearing fault signals are used to validate the proposed fault diagnosis approach. The results indicate that the proposed approach obviously improves the classification performance of fault pattern recognition and outperforms the other traditional approaches.
While most cancer nanomedicine is designed to eliminate cancer, the nanomaterial per se can lead to the formation of micrometre-sized gaps in the blood vessel endothelial walls. Nanomaterials-induced ...endothelial leakiness (NanoEL) might favour intravasation of surviving cancer cells into the surrounding vasculature and subsequently extravasation, accelerating metastasis. Here, we show that nanoparticles induce endothelial leakiness through disruption of the VE-cadherin-VE-cadherin homophilic interactions at the adherens junction. We show that intravenously injected titanium dioxide, silica and gold nanoparticles significantly accelerate both intravasation and extravasation of breast cancer cells in animal models, increasing the extent of existing metastasis and promoting the appearance of new metastatic sites. Our results add to the understanding of the behaviour of nanoparticles in complex biological systems. The potential for NanoEL needs to be taken into consideration when designing future nanomedicines, especially nanomedicine to treat cancer.
In this study, we introduce a versatile nanomaterial based on MoS2 quantum dot@polyaniline (MoS2@PANI) inorganic–organic nanohybrids, which exhibit good potential to not only enhance photoaccoustic ...(PA) imaging/X-ray computed tomography (CT) signal but also perform efficient radiotherapy (RT)/photothermal therapy (PTT) of cancer. Upon the intravenous injection of MoS2@PANI hybrid nanoparticles, the in vivo tumor could be precisely positioned and thoroughly eliminated under the PA/CT image-guided combination therapy of PTT/RT. This versatile nanohybrid could show good potential to facilitate simultaneously dual-modal imaging and synergetic PTT/RT to realize better anticancer efficiency.

This article demonstrates the central position that Daoists occupied in the representations of state power in north China under Mongol rule. In the mid-thirteenth century, Daoist Master ...Jiang Shanxin and his disciples, under Khubilai Khan's patronage, actively rebuilt several temples of Confucian sage-kings in southern Shanxi province. Jiang Shanxin's lineage was a product of dynamic interactions between the Mongol conquerors and local Chinese Daoists in which the two found common ground in sage-kings worship that had served to strengthen imperial legitimacy in previous dynasties. The strong Mongol-Daoist alliance in reordering the empire's ritual space resulted in not just the revival of but also the creation of new ritual precedents for the Chinese imperial cult of sage-kings.
Blood-based protein biomarkers have recently shown as simpler diagnostic modalities for colorectal cancer, while their association with clinical pathological characteristics is largely unknown. In ...this study, we not only examined the sensitivity and reliability of single/multiple serum markers for diagnosis, but also assessed their connection with pathological parameters from a total of 279 colorectal cancer patients. Our study shown that glycoprotein carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) owns the highest sensitivity among single marker in the order of CEA > cancer antigen 72-4 (CA72-4) > cancer antigen 19-9 9 (CA19-9) > ferritin > cancer antigen 125 (CA125), while the most sensitive combined-markers for two to five were: CEA + CA72-4; CEA + CA72-4 + CA125; CEA + CA19-9 + CA72-4 + CA125; and CEA + CA19-9 + CA72-4 + CA125 + ferritin, respectively. We also demonstrated that patients who had positive preoperative serum CEA, CA19-9, or CA72-4 were more likely with lymph node invasion, positive CA125 were prone to have vascular invasion, and positive CEA or CA125 were correlated with perineural invasion. In addition, positive CA19-9, CA72-4, or CA125 was associated with poorly differentiated tumor, while CEA, CA19-9, CA72-4, CA125 levels were positively correlated with pathological tumor-node-metastasis stages. We here conclude that combined serum markers can be used to not only diagnose colorectal cancer, but also appraise the tumor status for guiding treatment, evaluation of curative effect, and prognosis of patients.
In this letter, space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) and virtual SVPWM (VSVPWM) for the neutral-point-clamped (NPC) three-level inverter (TLI) are reviewed briefly. The relationship between ...VSVPWM and carrier-based PWM is revealed based on the PWM model of TLI with NP current equation. Then, carrier-based VSVPWM (CB_VSVPWM) is proposed. The CB_VSVPWM is implemented by comparing double modulation waves with a single carrier, and the two modulation waves for each phase are deduced. The CB_VSVPWM can simplify the implementation of VSVPWM to a great extent. Moreover, comparisons between SVPWM and CB_VSVPWM are provided in detail. At last, the simple method proposed in this letter is verified by experiments.
At the reaction temperature (200°C), the active sites for NO adsorption and oxidation are mostly provided by ASC and NH3 is mainly absorbed on the Lewis acid sites provided by V2O5.
•High NO ...conversion rate with excellent selectivity to N2 is obtained when 3wt.% V2O5 is loaded onto ASC for NO removal.•Active sites for the adsorption–oxidation of NO and NH3 are proved to be respectively provided by ASC and V2O5.•Both Lewis and Brønsted acid sites for NH3 adsorption co-exist on the V2O5/ASC catalyst and the Lewis acid sites play the leading role at the reaction temperature.•The SCR reaction pathways over the V2O5/ASC catalyst involve the coordinated ammonia with gaseous NO (E–R mechanism) as well as the adsorbed NO2 (L–H mechanism).
3wt.% of V2O5 is loaded onto the activated semi-coke (V2O5/ASC) via impregnation method and used for low temperature selective catalytic reduction (SCR) of NOx with NH3. The prepared V2O5/ASC catalyst yields an over 90% NO conversion rate with excellent N2 selectivity at 250°C with a space velocity of 12,000h−1. The adsorption state of different species and reaction behaviors under various conditions are systematically examined with in situ diffuse reflectance infrared Fourier transform spectroscopy (in situ DRIFTS). It is evidenced that NH3 and NO are absorbed on different active sites over the V2O5/ASC catalyst. At the reaction temperature (200°C) in this study, NH3 is mainly absorbed on the Lewis acid sites provided by V2O5, and NO is mainly absorbed on the active sites originated from the support ASC. In addition, the NH3-SCR process takes place according to two pathways, including reaction between the coordinated NH3 and gaseous NO (E–R mechanism), and reaction between the absorbed NO2 and coordinated NH3 (L–H mechanism). The latter one plays a primary role for the improved low-temperature SCR performance of V2O5/ASC catalyst.
