Provider: - Institution: - Data provided by Europeana Collections- A cast copper alloy finger ring, with an integral bezel. The hoop survives intact and has a chamfered D-shaped cross-section. The ...shoulders of the bezel have been decorated with incised lines forming a latticework. This design continues half the way around the hoop. The bezel itself is set inside the shoulders. The bezel is formed from a hollow circular setting. The intaglio does not survive. The bezel is 5.18mm in diameter. The internal surface of the hoop has filed marks evident, indicating a post-medieval date. The copper alloy is a dark greyish-brown colour. This finger ring is likely to date to the post-medieval period.
