Los lodos urbanos, la mayoría orgánicos, provenientes de los tratamiento de aguas servidas han aumentado en los últimos años en Chile. Esto ha generado la necesidad de su disposición final. En una ...primera instancia los lodos se acopian en rellenos sanitarios los cuales más tarde pueden ser utilizado como enmiendas sobre suelos agrícolas y forestales. En el presente trabajo se analiza algunos antecedentes acerca de los efectos de la aplicación de lodos sobre las propiedades físicas de suelos agrícolas y las necesidades de investigaciones futuras. Los lodos son aplicados en altas cantidades al suelo para obtener respuestas sobre el rendimiento de los cultivos y como enmiendas para mejorar las propiedades físicas del suelo. Sin embargo, los lodos pueden modificar estas propiedades. Varios trabajos han evaluado los parámetros físicos del suelo tales como, la densidad aparente y porosidad, demostrándose que, aunque generan respuestas positivas, estas no son estables en el tiempo y por el contrario, muchas de sus efectos son negativos. Sin embargo, las evaluaciones de los efectos negativos han sido escasamente evaluados al aplicar grandes cantidades de lodos al suelo. Pero, su uso en pequeñas cantidades puede implementado en viveros de plantas, y si se evitara el uso de materiales orgánicos en ambientes frágiles, tales como suelos delgados o muy arenosos. Otros parámetros físicos del suelo y su influencia por la aplicación de lodos, tales como la resistencia al corte, coeficiente de precompresión, prácticamente no han sido estudiados. Esto lleva a plantear nuevos trabajos en esta área junto al examen del efecto de los lodos sobre las propiedades químicas de los suelos.
The poliovirus RNA polymerase complex has been analyzed by immunoautoradiography using antibody probes derived from purified replicase (P3) region viral polypeptides. Antibody preparations made ...against the polio RNA polymerase, P3-4b, detected a previously unreported cellular protein that copurifies with the RNA polymerase. An IgG fraction purified from rabbit antiserum to polypeptide P3-2, a precursor of the RNA polymerase, specifically inhibits poliovirus RNA synthesis in vitro. We have also immunoprecipitated a 60,000-dalton protein (P3-4a) with antiserum to protein P3-4b and have determined the precise genomic map position of this protein by automated Edman degradation. Protein P3-4a originates by cleavage of the RNA polymerase precursor at a glutamine-glycine amino acid pair not previously reported to be a viral cleavage site.
We compared the standard suprathreshold strategy to the so-called threshold splitting strategy with 5 and 2 dB steps. The aim of the study was to establish whether the threshold splitting strategy ...had advantages over the suprathreshold strategy that has been used to date.
We examined the 30 degrees visual field in 49 volunteers using suprathreshold perimetry and on the same day threshold splitting perimetry on the Tübinger Automatic Perimeter CC. A total of 191 test points were examined in suprathreshold strategy. Using the threshold splitting strategy, 67 test points were examined, with a test-point design similar to other perimeters with the threshold splitting strategy. The criteria for inclusion in the study were central light sensitivity differences greater than 25 dB, fixation better than 80% and an illumination class density < 2.
The average duration of the examination using the suprathreshold strategy was 2-3 min quicker than the threshold splitting strategy in normal visual fields or small scotomas, but it took up to 15 min longer if large scotomas were presents. Interpretation of the scotoma configuration showed subjective differences: the smaller the scotoma, the greater the differences because of the fact that threshold splitting perimetry utilizes test points that are farther apart than those used in suprathreshold perimetry.
