The onset of the Covid pandemic in 2020 changed the approach to work, research, and study. This period has been a wake-up call for public administrations, the private sector, and the academic ...community, to digitise their data. In Italy, digital and information technologies for the protection and enhancement of cultural heritage, which were an imperative for more than a decade, have been accelerated. This paper aims to collect and to process openly available data on patrimony from OpenStreetMap and the Lombardian Geoportal. The study is divided into two phases: a simple statistical analysis of cultural heritage in Monza is obtained, and the results are presented graphically. Firstly, built-in tools and Python Console of QGIS are evaluated, to filter attributes and add geometrical values to the downloaded material. Secondly, plug-in DataPlotly and an online coding application named Replit are assessed. The results are presented and compared in terms of their flexibility, quality of visual representation, customisation, and simplicity of use. Tools developed through and for QGIS are easy to use and available to everyone. Additionally, coding applications can be integrated for more refined results. This approach fosters interdisciplinarity, bridges the gap between professionals and non-expert users of GIS, and opens a range of opportunities for future collaborations. The citizen, as a mapper, can be involved in the administrative decision-making process, contributing with data collected in situ. Collaboration between these two sides can potentially produce the better for evaluating the contemporary built environment and its undividable part of cultural heritage.
The new type of catalyst for fatty acid methyl esters (FAME or biodiesel) synthesis with K(2)CO(3) as active component on alumina/silica support was synthesized using sol-gel method. Corresponding ...catalyst (xerogel) was prepared by 12h drying the wet gel in air at 300 degrees C, 600 degrees C or 1000 degrees C at atmospheric pressure. The catalysts activity in the methanolysis of sunflower oil was compared to the activity of the pure K(2)CO(3). The effects of various reaction variables on the yield of FAME were investigated. It was found that the temperature of 120 degrees C and methanol to oil molar ratio of 15:1, are optimal conditions for FAME synthesis with synthesized catalyst. Repeated use of same amount of catalyst indicated that effect of potassium leaching obviously existed leading to decrease of catalyst activity.
The nineteenth-century greenhouses in the garden of Villa Cicogna Mozzoni are abandoned and dilapidated. Three greenhouses investigated for the research named A, B and C are positioned one above the ...other on the hill of the garden. They are historical examples of iron and glass structures with masonry walls leaning against the ground. They have undergone numerous modifications over time, as evidenced by archival documents. To create a preservation project for their reuse, bibliographical research was first collected. Secondly, direct and indirect surveys were carried out. The technical drawings were produced on a 1:50 scale using point clouds, orthophotos, sketches and direct measurements. Given the nature of the glass material of which these buildings are predominantly made, it was necessary to process the data obtained with the laser scanner and clean created noise points. Seemingly simple structures, greenhouses are complex buildings that require careful studies of humidity, temperature, irrigation, light and materials. For the presentation of different systems in the greenhouses, colour-coded thematical drawings were created. Detailed drawings on a 1:20 scale examine the iron fixtures and manual mechanical system of the windows. Other characteristics were presented in the drawings, such as internal and external movements and communications between greenhouses. The survey and documentation were done to serve for the reuse project which aims to bring back the shine to these greenhouses so that they can be revitalised for botanical and educational activities.
The case of Miller Fisher syndrome in a young girl with a typical clinical picture and good therapeutic response to standard therapeutic protocol was presented. The aim was to emphasize the ...importance of this rare pathological entity by comprehensive clinical and diagnostic methods for confirming the Miller Fisher syndrome. Analysis of the results was obtained by means of anamnesis, clinical findings of disease development (prodromal infectious syndrome, progressive ophthalmoparesis, ataxia, areflexia), diagnostic tests – brain MRI, evoked potentials, lumbar puncture, EMG as well as the response to therapeutic treatment protocol implemented – corticosteroids pulse therapy with plasmapheresis. Albumin-cytological dissociation was found in the second report of CSF, while the first was negative. Despite the typical clinical presentation and CSF findings, there are a number of diseases that may imitate this condition. Often the clinical findings of Guillain–Barre syndrome, respectively Miller Fisher syndrome, may only be a part of a wider clinical spectrum and of a different pathological entity.
Three patients who were hospitalized due to cerebrovascular incident with different lesions localization presented with ipsilateral epileptic syndromes with action myoclonus of the hands and in one ...case associated with active myoclonus of the same half of the face. The aim was to prove the existence of a direct correlation between cerebrovascular incident as the cause and developed action myoclonus as a result of cerebral lesions by analysing the pathophysiological basis of this entity. The analysed results were obtained through laboratory, serial electroencephalograph monitoring, CD-MAV, computerized tomography or magnetic resonance imaging of the brain and magnetic resonance angiography of blood vessels of the brain. Based on results, the base for the introduction of anticonvulsant therapy, which completely suppressed the clinical picture, was set. This supports the direct relation between cerebrovascular lesions as pathoanatomic substrate and action myoclonus as a pathophysiological substrate. The mechanism of myoclonus as a result of cerebrovascular disease is largely unknown. The essence of the discussion is based on the possible pathophysiological mechanisms of secondary myoclonus. Further analysis should give a deeper insight into the damage mechanisms, but also the survival of neurons that can help and lead to new ways of treating cerebrovascular disease.
Researchers from diverse fields of study are developing methodologies for understanding historical cartography. Nonetheless, there is a lack of literature that explains the connection between the ...survey and the interactive use of historical cartography in preservation projects and urban planning. This study demonstrates the methods for the investigation of historical cartography to produce knowledge about the heritage of small widespread historical centres in northern Italy, which had a rich history, and for which many thematic maps were produced through time. The complexity of the area gives a fertile ground to collect, systematise and investigate historical sources. The methodology is developed to be flexible and adaptable to various widespread historical centres in the territory and it is divided into two parts: deconstructive and constructive approach. Whereas the former deals with the analysis of urban aspects on historical maps, the latter searches for the historical elements present nowadays. Combining those two methods in the Geographic Information Systems will produce a timeline and historical stratification of the transformation of cities. Once georeferenced and vectorised, historical maps are enriched with the information from written registers and other historical documents, as well as contemporary ones. The study aims to scrutinize and produce various categories of maps, to draw conclusions about the limits of the use of historical cartography and software used, and finally, to suggest how and where the future work could lead to the overall enhancement of heritage.
The neurovascular ultrasound methods are cheap and noninvasive methods that are performed at the bedside of critically ill patients. Transcranial Doppler sonography (TCD), transcranial color Doppler ...sonography (TCCD) and ultrasound examination of the neck vessels can provide valuable information for timely treatment decisions. In patients with acute stroke, TCD can detect intracranial arterial steno-occlusive disease and presence of collateral flow. The recanalization rate after reperfusion treatment can be monitored with serial TCD recordings in acute ischemic stroke. TCD bubble test can detect the presence of heart right to left shunt, and with detection of microembolic signals the risk of cerebral embolization can be assessed. With TCD, it is possible to determine the cerebral blood flow and intracranial pressure in patients with severe stroke, closed head trauma or encephalopathy of various etiologies. TCCD may be useful in assessing the movement of mediosagital brain structures. Serial TCD is routinely used for monitoring vasospasm in subarachnoid hemorrhage. Inevitably, TCD has its role in confirming brain death and its findings are not affected by sedation, hypothermia or metabolic disorders. Besides assessing changes in vessel wall or lumen, extracranial ultrasound is, also, a valuable method in guiding the placement of central venous catheters.

Local city authorities are making a serious effort to expand the number of low-greenhouse gas vehicles (green vehicles) at home. There is no reliable methodology, however, to support the implementation of this passenger transportation concept. In order to optimize the green capacity, a system has been developed to support decision making in urban green vehicle routing. The objective of this paper is to propose a green vehicle distribution model in a public transportation network. The problem has been defined as a problem of non-linear optimization with dispersed input parameters, requiring neuro-fuzzy logic. An adaptive neural network was developed, taking into account the costs to be borne by operators and users, and the environmental parameters along the observed vehicle route. Each input parameter of the neuro-fuzzy model has been placed in a complex context. They were divided into the elements describing in more detail the environmental status, the operator and passenger costs. The advantage of the model is that several factors shaping the input parameters have been taken into consideration. On the other hand, the complexity of urban systems management makes it a considerable challenge, and the surrounding circumstances are difficult to predict accurately. Accordingly, the inputs of the green vehicle model were fuzzified. The Index of Performance (IP) is the output, associated with each branch of the passenger transportation network. The model has been tested on a part of the public transport system in central Belgrade. The results have proven a practical application possible, and a calibration of input parameters allows for full implementation in public transport vehicle routing.
In this research, the antioxidant activity of acidic and alkaline hydrolyzates of pectin isolated from quince (
Cydonia oblonga
) was investigated. The antioxidant role of quince has been known since ...before, but so far few papers have been published dealing with the antioxidant role of pectin hydrolyzate. In this study, quince pectin was isolated and hydrolyzed by acid and alkaline hydrolysis. Antioxidant activity was examined using a number of different methods, such as 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging activity, Cupric Ion Reducing Antioxidant Capacity (CUPRAC) assay, iron chelators, and oxygen radical absorption capacity (ORAC). Our results, especially the ORAC test, show that depolymerization produces the most substances with antioxidant release properties in the alkaline hydrolysis of quince pectin.
