Through cluster analysis, airports were categorized based on performance metrics, economic indicators, and ownership structures. The findings reveal distinct groupings among regional airports and shed light on critical factors influencing their operational and financial dynamics. By offering insights into the relationships between airport system characteristics and business model effectiveness, this paper aimed to provide valuable guidance for stakeholders, policymakers, and airport management teams. It facilitates informed decision-making and strategic planning for sustainable aviation infrastructure development in the region.

This paper primarily focuses on assessing the impact of the budget friendly Software-Defined Radio, HackRF One 1.0, on the safety of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles operations. Considering the widespread use of Software-Defined Radio devices today, with some being reasonably inexpensive, understanding their influence on Unmanned Aerial Vehicles safety is crucial. The generation of artificial interference capable of posing a potential threat in expanding Unmanned Aerial Vehicles airspace is deemed unacceptable.

In addition, we introduce a numerical method based on the convexity splitting idea to approximate the solutions of the considered problem. We apply this method to several binary images and demonstrate that this approach naturally extends image features and preserves their edges.
Currently experienced the dawn of the Aviation 4.0 era is transforming the contemporary technological environment, throughout the whole aeronautical industry, by creating cyber-physical systems. ...Following the evolutionary path, incorporating advanced automated and first autonomy systems, the applications involved are becoming increasingly data- oriented. The need for progressive data analytics, massive adoption and operation of IoT devices, delivering advanced monitoring and machine learning opportunities, building the core structure for artificial intelligence, will put a significant pressure on data communication and connectivity itself. In the near future, the problems may especially arise in datalink used in civil aviation. This research paper briefly studies the contemporary systems used for datalink, determines dominant aspects of Aviation 4.0 and their overall impact on the performance requirements of the data communications network, and proposes the possible solution to the problematics, with newly emerging LEO satellite mega-constellations providing Internet connectivity. The conclusion of this paper highlights the requirements for future data communication systems and determines whether the existing and proposed datalink subnetwork technologies are capable of meeting the demands established by Aviation 4.0.
A conflict is an infringement of minimum separation between at least two aircraft. Air traffic controllers build a protected area in front of an aircraft; its shapes and dimensions depend on the ...speed of an aircraft and on the minimum separation. The protected zone in this mathematical model is the horizontal rectangular zone. If an aircraft is inside this protected zone, a conflict occurs. The model is based on these assumptions: aircraft fly in level straight line routes; only an infringement of the lateral separation is considered; deviations are excluded; aircraft at the same flight level fly at the same average speed; aircraft fly towards an intersection and change direction after the intersection. Hence, conflicts mainly occur owing to the loss of minimum separation between aircraft flying at the same flight level. The calculation of average number of potential conflicts is designed for a long time interval; hence, aircraft velocity deviations are negligible. The mathematical model in this paper is intended to compare different alternative intersection configurations of air traffic service routes. The comparison is based on the following results: an average number of potential conflicts per hour at route intersections, index of conflict intensity, and intersection capacity.

The Timepix2-based hybrid-pixel detector with a 500 μm thick silicon sensor was employed for fast-neutrons registration to be applied in neutron radiography of metallic printed circuit heat exchanger ...(PCHE). Two energies of neutrons were experimentally tested. The detection of 3.55 MeV neutrons from the deuteron–deuteron (DD) reaction was compared to 15.7 MeV neutrons from the deuteron–tritium (DT) neutron generator. In order to distinguish the signal induced by the registered neutrons from the accelerator background, filtration of the recorded particle spectral tracks was applied. The benefit of applying hydrogen-based converter layer for 3.55 MeV neutrons was observable. On the other hand, in the case of 15.7 MeV neutrons, the direct registration by interaction with the sensor Si significantly dominates the conversion.

The analysis highlights that generative artificial intelligence tools enable medical decision-making and analyze patient data, resulting in better patient outcomes and in enhanced access to care. Throughout March 2023, we performed a quantitative literature review of the Web of Science, Scopus, and ProQuest databases, with search terms including healthcare generative artificial intelligence tools + medical diagnosis, medical treatment, and medical prognosis. As we inspected research published in 2023, only 174 articles satisfied the eligibility criteria. By eliminating controversial findings, outcomes unsubstantiated by replication, too imprecise material, or having similar titles, we decided upon 38, generally empirical, sources. Data visualization tools: Dimensions (bibliometric mapping) and VOSviewer (layout algorithms). Reporting quality assessment tool: PRISMA. Methodological quality assessment tools include: AMSTAR, Distiller SR, MMAT, and ROBIS.
This paper covers the aspects of implementation of the Internet of Things concept into airport operations. It suggests areas that would be closely related to the Internet of Things. These areas ...mainly concern the handling of passengers or baggage and would be able to speed up the whole process significantly. The second part concerns the increase of passenger comfort by providing various information during their stay at the airport. This new system could significantly improve the quality of travel. In the last part, this paper discusses options for implementation of the concept at various selected airports. It includes information on readiness of these airports for digital transformation and availability of the digital tools for such a transformation.

The paper deals with the issue of GNSS interference and its subsequent impact on airport approach procedures. It discusses the problem of GNSS signal interference and interference identification on a ...practical example of a small regional airport in Zilina, located close to the highway, through research aimed at its identification, a proposal for the location of a monitoring station and subsequent practical verification. The paper seeks to analyse and provide recommendations for enhancing safety and reliability in GNSS approaches. Given the need to develop the air transport, it is important to ensure the safety and continuity of service provision at small regional airports. The GNSS approach at airports with insufficiently equipped navigation infrastructure seems to be one of the most suitable. Introduction of the GNSS interference monitoring in the final instrument approach phase would increase the safety and reliability of the flight.
