Original language summary:
Sport už není výsadou mužů ani v těch nejtvrdších disciplinách.
Extended description:
Modern women want to give everything a try, including sports, which used to be the domain of men. Girls play ice-hockey or football, ski-jump; some of them even do boxing or weight-lifting. They are often inspired by their father's or brother's hobbies or they just picked these sports randomly. Despite of the fact that they practise typical men's sport, women who do so are often not indistinguishable from other women. They also maintain their look and wardrobe as other women do. Sport is a hobby and challenge for them; they want to demonstrate their abilities and wish not to be considered only housewives.

Using a unique set of data drawn from the US census, statistics, city directories, and other sources, the author looks at the differences between men and women in the US labour force. She shows that ...the `gender gap' in income and job level that has existed throughout history cannot be explained simply as a matter of sex discrimination, nor as a result of inherent structural phenomena in the employment market.

Dlouhá tradice zhotovování plastik nahých žen (badárské neolitické postavy, plačky, „panenky“, „souložnice zemřelého“, sošky žen sloužící jako ex voto) z různých materiálů vyústila v Egyptě v raném ...7. – pozdním 10. století n. l. k vytváření velmi stylizovaných figurek nahých žen. Jde o koptská hlazená kostěná řezbářská díla obvykle zachycující schematicky a přísně geometricky pojednaná obdélníková ženská těla. Všechny anatomické detaily jsou vyznačeny hlubokými rovnými zářezy. Nohy od sebe odděluje svislý zářez, přičemž jejich spodní část vymezuje vodorovné seříznutí. Dva kostěné idoly plodnosti neznámého původu jsou uloženy v české soukromé sbírce. Jeden idol (obr. 7) datujeme do 9.–10. století, druhý (obr. 8) do 8.–9. století. Oba představují názornou ukázku koptského lidového kostěného řezbářského umění. To později dosáhlo svého vrcholu ve fátimovském dekorativním umění 11. a 12. století.
The long tradition of making nude female figurines (badarian neolitic figures, women mourners, „paddle dolls“, „female companions of the dead“, female ex voto statuettes) from various materials in Egypt led to the creation of the Coptic bone carvings representing an extremely stylized nude female figures in the period between the early 7th and the late 10th centuries AD. Usually, the cubic body of these polished figures is very schematically rendered and strongly geometrized. All the anatomical details are indicated mainly by means of deep straight incised lines. Legs are separated by a straight vertical line carved in the middle, feet marked by simple horizontal grooves. Two typical bone figures of unknown provenance, which we interpret as the Coptic fertility idols, are deposited in a Czech private collection, the first one (Fig. 7) being dated back to the 9th–10th centuries, the second one (Fig. 8) to the 8th–9th centuries. Both idols represent a characteristic example of folk Coptic bone carving art, which later reached its pinnacle in the Fatimid decorations of the 11th and 12th centuries.
