We believe that these cases constitute a novel severe post-COVID-19 cholangiopathy with potential for long-term hepatic morbidity.
HintergrundGlobal hat das Covid-19 Virus zu zusätzlichen Herausforderungen bei Angehörigen der Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegeberufe geführt.ZielZiel dieser Studie ist es, die dadurch entstandenen ...psychosozialen Arbeitsbelastungen beim gehobenen Dienst für Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege, sowie der Pflege(fach)assisstenzberufe in einer österreichischen Schwerpunktkrankenanstalt zu eruieren. Zudem sollen Unterschiede im Erleben zwischen den Angehörigen des Gesundheits- und Krankenpflegepersonals und den Assistenzberufen sowie in Führungs- und Managementpositionen als auch zwischen Stationen mit und ohne Covid-19 positiven Patientinnen und Patienten erfasst werden.MethodeIm Rahmen einer Mixed-Method Studie wurde eine webbasierte Umfrage mithilfe des Copenhagen Psychosocial Questionnaire (COPSOQ) durchgeführt. Die qualitative Erhebung erfolgte mit vier offenen Fragestelllungen. Die Ergebnisse wurden deskriptiv sowie inferenzstatistisch mit einer einfaktoriellen Varianzanalyse und dem Mann-Whitney-U-Test analysiert. Die qualitativen Daten wurden durch eine zusammenfassende Inhaltsanalyse ausgewertet.ErgebnisseInsgesamt nahmen 104 Personen an der Befragung teil. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Pflege im Bereich emotionalen Arbeitsanforderungen und -menge (p < 0.01) belastet ist (p = 0.03), jedoch werden keine Unterschiede zwischen den einzelnen Berufsgruppen der Pflege deutlich. Personen in Fuhrungs- und Managementpositionen geben weniger Belastungen an als das restliche Pflegepersonal (p. 0.05). Bei der Unterscheidung der Belastungen zwischen Covid-19(-Verdachts-)Stationen und non-Covid-19-Stationen waren zwei Skalen (Anforderungen, Gefuhle zu verbergen & Entwicklungsmoglichkeit) statistisch signifikant (p ≤0.04).Diskussion/SchlussfolgerungDie Ergebnisse dieser Studie verdeutlichen die psychosozialen Belastungen der Gesundheits- und Krankenpflege durch die Covid-19 Pandemie mit unterschiedlichen Ausprägungen und decken sich mit dem aktuellen Forschungsstand. Zukünftige Studien sollten sich mit den Auswirkungen auf die Arbeitsbelastungen für die Pflegepraxis beschäftigen.
En este contexto de suma fragilidad social, la implementación de medidas que limitaron las libertades individuales por parte de la burocracia estatal tuvo como resultado un agravamiento de los ...indicadores sociales y un aumento de la violencia institucional. Como no podía ser de otra manera, la combinación de estos factores produjo una "crisis dentro de la crisis" (Poy y Pla, 2022:19).1 En el primer capítulo, "Sobre el desarrollo fallido, los regímenes políticos y las políticas sociales", Agustín Salvia analiza la relación entre los diferentes programas de modernización implementados en Argentina durante las últimas décadas y los magros resultados en materia de desarrollo económico, bienestar social y equilibrios territoriales. Asimismo, la mayor pérdida de empleo y de paso a la inactividad se generó en los grupos laborales más precarizados. Utilizando datos procedentes de la Encuesta Permanente de Hogares (EPH), las autoras evidencian que el mayor impacto de la crisis provocada por la pandemia se observó en los aglomerados urbanos donde el sector informal tiene mayor relevancia y/o en aquellas ciudades que sufrieron restricciones más severas al desplazamiento de las personas. Si bien existió una mayor participación de todas las personas del grupo familiar, fueron las mujeres quienes continuaron realizando la mayor cantidad de las labores dentro del hogar.
INTRODUCCIÓN La propagación del COVID-19 en la República Argentina y la declaración de pandemia por parte de la Organización Mundial de la Salud el 11 de marzo de 2020 exigieron medidas ...gubernamentales que conmovieron la vida cotidiana en los más diversos ámbitos de la actividad social. Al final, se plantea la importancia de dar continuidad y consolidar dichas políticas en la post pandemia para mejorar la calidad de vida y el bienestar subjetivo y social de todas las ciudadanas y los ciudadanos, de sus hijas y sus hijos. Estos materiales contribuyeron al accionar de las escuelas y de otros espacios educativos populares, donde las y los docentes tuvieron un importante papel en la difusión de la medicina preventiva y social y de las nociones de higiene más comunes para convertirlas en hábitos que pudiesen llevarse a los hogares. Hacia los años 1960, se intensificaron las políticas económicas desarrollistas que ponían énfasis en la producción industrial, la participación privada y la eficiencia para el mayor progreso del país. The rapid development of mRNA-based vaccines against the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) led to the design of accelerated vaccination schedules that have been extremely ...effective in naive individuals. While a two-dose immunization regimen with the BNT162b2 vaccine has been demonstrated to provide a 95% efficacy in naive individuals, the effects of the second vaccine dose in individuals who have previously recovered from natural SARS-CoV-2 infection has not been investigated in detail. In this study, we characterize SARS-CoV-2 spike-specific humoral and cellular immunity in naive and previously infected individuals during and after two doses of BNT162b2 vaccination. Our results demonstrate that, while the second dose increases both the humoral and cellular immunity in naive individuals, COVID-19 recovered individuals reach their peak of immunity after the first dose. These results suggests that a second dose, according to the current standard regimen of vaccination, may be not necessary in individuals previously infected with SARS-CoV-2.

Scarce SARS-CoV-2 vaccine supplies are influencing vaccination policies in some countries. Lozano-Ojalvo et al. report that subjects with previous exposure to SARS-CoV-2 mount powerful immune responses after the first BNT162b2 vaccine dose, suggesting single vaccination regimens in COVID-19 recovered individuals.
The rapid spread of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has elicited an equally rapid response aiming to develop a COVID-19 vaccine. These efforts are encouraging; however, ...comprehensive efficacy and safety evaluations are essential in the development of a vaccine, and we can learn from previous vaccine development campaigns. In this Perspective, we summarize examples of vaccine-associated disease enhancement in the history of developing vaccines against respiratory syncytial virus, dengue virus, SARS-CoV and Middle East respiratory syndrome coronavirus, which highlight the importance of a robust safety and efficacy profile, and present recommendations for preclinical and clinical evaluation of COVID-19 vaccine candidates as well as for vaccine design and optimization.

We report 4 travelers from Brazil to Japan in January 2021 infected with a novel SARS-CoV-2 variant with an additional set of mutations.
