The objective of this study is to describe the physical fitness of soccer players from the minor divisions of a Bogota profes-sional soccer club, using the EUROFIT Battery during the period of 2021-2 ...and 2022-1. The participants selected within the sample were 101 men between 18 and 22 years of age. To which anthropometric measurements were taken, body composition measure-ments by means of a bioimpedance device and the evaluation of physical fitness by means of the EUROFIT battery. In analysis of variables, the quantitative measures were obtained measures of central tendency and dispersion; for the qualitative variables, propor-tions and frequencies. All the descriptive data obtained were tabulated and coded using the SPSS Statistics version 26 program. As relevant results, a decrease in body fat and metabolic rate were evidenced in body composition, taking into account that they are amateur athletes. In addition, in the evaluation of physical fitness, a decrease in flexibility was found, being a risk factor for muscle injury. Finally, in the variable abdominal strength, power and strength of the lower limb, a muscular imbalance between trunk flex-ors and adductors of the lower limb is evident, for which it is suggested the implementation of an injury prevention plan avoiding injuries of origin tendon or muscle caused by muscle imbalance.
Background: Having an additional impairment similar to Down Syndrome (DS) might increase defects in motor development in people with intellectual impairments (II) and, therefore, affect their ...physical fitness and body composition. Thus, this study compared the physical fitness and body composition of people with II who did not have additional impairments with those who had additional impairment. Methods: This cross-sectional study included N= 272 young people with II, aged 18 to 30 (19.67 ± 2.66 years). According to Wechsler Intelligence Test, their IQ was in the range of 55 to 70. Participants were allocated purposefully to three different II groups, including II without additional disabilities (n= 90), II with DS (n= 89), and II with other disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy (CP), ADHD, Hydrocephaly, Microcephaly, Speech Disorders, or Behavioral Disorders (n= 93). Eurofit Battery Tests assessed physical fitness, and body composition was measured by Biospace (In Body 230). Results: The results of one-way ANOVA showed significant differences in all physical fitness factors among the three groups (P ≤ 0.05), except for the endurance of abdominal muscles (P= 0.463). There were significant differences in BMI, body fat percentage, and body fat mass among the three II groups (P≤0.05), but not in skeletal muscle mass nor in the waist to hip ratio (WHR) among groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: People with II who also have DS have the lowest physical fitness and exhibit a weaker body composition than their peers with other impairments or without additional impairment. Improving and maintaining physical fitness have to become a critical part of care and support for these people.
This study investigated the effect of a 10-week karate training program on the motor skill development of 5-7-year-old children new to karate with two different test batteries. A total of 28 ...participants were included in the study: 18 in the Karate group and 10 in the control group. The karate group was subjected to a fundamental karate training (kihon) program consisting of 90-minute sessions four days a week for ten weeks in addition to physical education classes at their schools. In contrast, the control group did not participate in any sportive activities except physical education classes in their schools. Data were collected using the Eurofit test battery and the TGMD-2 test. In the pre-post test comparison of the anthropometric measurements of the karate group, no significant difference was found in the control group. In contrast, a significant difference was obtained in height, body mass index, and body fat percentage. In the post-test analysis of the two independent groups, there were statistically significant differences in favor of the karate group regarding height and body fat percentage (
< 0.005). In the pre-post analysis of the Eurofit test and the TGMD-2 for the karate group, all parameters showed statistically significant improvements (
< 0.001), while the control group showed no statistical difference. After comparing the karate and control groups, the Eurofit Test and TGMD-2 post-test results showed significantly higher scores (statistically significant differences) in all parameters for the karate group. In conclusion, the study shows that the 10-week karate training program positively affected the motor development of the participating children.
Introduction. The boundaries of human adaptation to the load of exercise in sport, recreational and occupational activity are flexible but not unlimited. Material, methods and research tools. 393 ...students from randomly selected music schools were qualified for the study. In each of the schools involved in the study, the level of physical fitness was assessed using the Eurofit test and the level of body posture parameters by means of the photogrammetric method. Summary As regards the players of musical instruments, the most frequent correlations with the characteristics of physical fitness were observed among female pupils of class III, IV, V and male pupils of class I, moderately frequent relationships were recorded among female students of II, VI and male students of class II, III and the fewest correlations were noticed among female pupils of class I and male pupils of class IV and V. Considering the frequency of correlations among female students, the most frequent relationships were recorded in class I, V and IV, the moderately frequent ones in class II and VI and the fewest in class I (…)

The aim of this research was to examine the contribution of body mass index (BMI), motor skills and physical self-concept in explaining the physical activity (PA) of adolescent karatekas (N=148). The ...average age of participants was 16,56 years (± 1,14). The following measuring instruments were used: Body Mass Index (BMI), Eurofit Physical Fitness Test Battery, Physical Self-Description Questionnaire (PSDQ), and Physical Activity Questionnaire for Adolescents (PAQ-A). The Cronbach's alpha coefficient was used to determine the internal consistency of the questionnaires. The results of the hierarchical analysis showed that the predictor variables explained 18,5% of the total variance of the criterion PA of junior karatekas. With their positive direction, the independent variables of the physical self-concept strength (β = 0.049; p < 0.01), flexibility (β = 0.037; p < 0.01) and self-respect (β = 0.019; p< 0.05) showed the maximum statistically significant contribution to predicting the variability of the participants' PA, which means that junior karatekas who manifest the higher level of perception on those variables exhibit the higher level of PA. This study confirmed that the applied instruments are valid and suitable to predict PA among adolescent athletes in Serbia.
The article presents the results of the own research carried out during the scout colonies in July 2022. The research included an examination of the following: whether and to what extent the level of ...physical fitness of 24 children aged 7-10, participating in program activities carried out during the recreation, increased during the two-week scout camps in Rusinowo (at the Polish seaside). The following research hypothesis was set: It is hypothesized that during a scout camp, children will raise their level of physical fitness in all tests. Based on the results presented, it was found that the children did not raise their level of physical fitness in all competitions of the test. In most of the trials, the results of the second measurement were better, while results worse than in the first measurement were also noted. Therefore, it should be concluded that the research hypothesis set was not confirmed. However, during the study, differences were observed due to the gender of the children, with a predominance of better results in girls.
Swimming, as a sport where the goal is to be faster, to a great extent depends on the manifestation of strength and power at short distances. An evaluation of dry land strength and power is an ...important part of the training process, but the evaluation of dry land measurents and its influence on s wimming results is problematic, considering the fact that the manifestation of strength and power in the water is specific in comparison to dry land. The aim of this paper is to determine whether there is a correlation between the results of the tests of strength and power from the Eurofit battery test and short-distance swimming speed among young swimmers. The sample of participants consisted of 27 swimmers aged 13 ± 2.1 year. The results of Pearson's coefficient and regression analyses indicate that there is a high correlation between the tests of the standing broad jump and the sit-ups with the average swim speed at a distance of 50 (r = 0.656, r = 0.833, respectively) and 100 m (r = 0.746, r = 0.640, respectively), as well as swim time at a distance of 50 (r = -0.623, r = -0.856, respectively) and 100 m (r = - 0.723, r = - 0.687, respectively) freestyle. We can conclude that the standing broad jump and the sit-ups tests of the Eurofit battery tests could be predictors i n conclusion about factors of swim speed at short distances among young swimmers, that is, are suitable for the selection of young swimmers.
