Objetivo da pesquisa: Realizar aproximações teõricas entre o campo da Gestão Social e as Epistemologias do Sul. Enquadramento teõrico: A Gestão Social representa uma alternativa ao pensamento ...organizacional hegemônico. Por meio das esferas públicas, permeadas por ações participativas e dialõgicas, objetiva-se atender ao bem comum da sociedade. As Epistemologias do Sul representam uma alternativa ao paradigma epistemolõgico da ciência moderna, o lado colonial, patriarcal e capitalista. Resultados: Assim como a Gestão Social busca a emancipação como finalidade, as Epistemologias do Sul apresentam potencial emancipador, ao constituir orientação política e epistêmica, que nasce do conhecimento acerca da luta contra o capitalismo/colonialismo/patriarcado. Originalidade: Há a necessidade de avançar na compreensão da Gestão Social, a partir de seu sentido originário epistemolõgico e axiolõgico decolonial, considerando a emergência dos debates acerca das desigualdades e diversidades. Logo, as Epistemologias do Sul tornam-se relevantes para refletir o campo, pois admite o conhecimento produzido na modernidade e parte de uma concepção contra hegemônica. Contribuições teõricas: Sob o olhar das Epistemologias do Sul, a Gestão Social, como uma possibilidade de decolonialidade epistemolõgica, torna-se mais adequada ao contexto latino-americano e mais prõxima de uma gestão dialõgica que busca libertar os indivíduos e promover igualdade por meio da promoção do bem comum. Assim, abre-se espaço para a valorização e validação do conhecimento construído na América Latina.

The Siddis were brought to India from the southern and eastern parts of Africa by the Arab and Portuguese colonisers. At present, the Siddis in India can be found in parts of Gujarat (a state located ...in western India), Hyderabad (a state located in southeastern India) and Karnataka (a state located in southwestern India). They are habitually subjected to colonially reconfigured violence of epistemic and cognitive injustices by the mainstream colonial/modern governing institutions in India through dehumanising their cultural practices, racially invalidating their food habits, preventing them from receiving education, practising racial suppression at workplaces, etc. To counter such violence of the colonial/modern governing institutions, the Siddis interweave narratives of epistemic justice and cognitive freedom through performing their Indigenous traditional socio-cultural practices of hunting, cooking, eating, singing and dancing. The interesting aspect of these socio-cultural practices is that they are socially, culturally, thematically and contextually interlinked to each other. The title of this article is a synecdochic representation of the interwovenness of Siddi histories and cultures. With respect to these arguments, the research article will argue how these socio-cultural practices function as Indigenous performances of epistemic justice and cognitive freedom for the Siddis of Karnataka.
Lorraine Daston ha señalado la influencia que The emergence of probability de Ian Hacking ha tenido en su trayectoria intelectual y en su elección de la etiqueta epistemología histórica para ...describir su trabajo. Hacking, por su parte, ha respondido a estos señalamientos que, en primer lugar, Daston y sus colegas no hacen epistemología, sino que más bien estudian conceptos epistemológicos como objetos que evolucionan y mutan; en segundo lugar, que su trabajo sobre la probabilidad no es epistemología histórica sino, en todo caso, lo que él llama metaepistemología histórica o, mejor aún, ontología histórica. En el presente trabajo, analizo en qué forma entienden Daston y Hacking el tipo de investigación que denominan respectivamente epistemología y metaepistemología histórica, y exploro sus convergencias y divergencias con el fin de establecer posibles relaciones, intereses y antecedentes compartidos. Por último, sostengo que la obra de Hacking puede ser visualizada como resultado de investigaciones que caracterizan a la epistemología histórica, como consecuencia de su interés, estimulado por la lectura de Michel Foucault, en el análisis de las condiciones históricas de posibilidad para la emergencia de conceptos y objetos científicos.
Este texto trata da saúde humana na perspectiva do conceito de bem-estar, especificamente a partir das realidades das benzedeiras/os. A abordagem insere-se no campo da perspectiva decolonial do ...conhecimento, pois volta-se à atuação de agentes praticantes de saberes tradicionais de cura. Os quais portam a confiança de suas comunidades e complementam o fazer médico-científico em relação ao cuidado à saúde de indivíduos e de grupos. Para tal, a pesquisa valeu-se do levantamento bibliográfico utilizando-se do método “bola-de-neve” que permitiu a construção da análise aqui desenvolvida. O conceito de bem-estar é ainda amplamente discutido e tem interpretações múltiplas. Partindo de diferentes epistemologias o texto auxilia a compreender como a atividade da benzeção pode servir à promoção e complementação do bem-estar e, através deste, da saúde humana. A abordagem desenvolvida evidencia a importância que benzedeiras/os têm para a saúde de suas comunidades, atuando solidariamente em prol do fortalecimento do bem-estar de seus enfermos. Evidencia também algumas perspectivas da dimensão socioespacial delas/es, ao mesmo tempo que aponta a necessidade de aprofundamento desta perspectiva no campo da geografia.

In the text, I analyze Grobler᾽s strategy of countering skepticism. It boils down to two arguments, i.e. a performative contradiction and the use of the ceteris paribus clause. Another point is the ...concept of truth adopted by Grobler. Grobler is leaning towards the adjustment theory and aletic pluralism. I formulate critical remarks about truth as identity, the markup theory, super-conclusiveness, and finally truth as a regulative idea. I am also considering two additional requirements of Grobler, namely that the truth should be interesting and knowledge should have rich applications. I argue that the application requirement is always fulfilled.
I agree with many of Adam Grobler’s theses, but several others raised my objection. (1) A.G. does not want to call scientific claims true. It is not so: very much of what scientists say about the ...world is true (in the classic sense), and scientists know it is. (2) A.G. leads us astray when he writes that the acceptance or rejection of hypotheses is determined, at least sometimes, by expert votes. It is not so: further research is the decisive factor in accepting or rejecting hypotheses in science. (3) While A.G. is aware of some social determinants of knowledge, he ultimately states: “individuals are the subjects of scientific knowledge.” Contrary to this, I argue that one can only be a scientist as a member of a scientific thought collective. (4) A.G. believes that scientific knowledge is based on presuppositions, accepted unconsciously, that give meaning to statements made openly. After Wittgenstein, I repeat: “After all, nothing is concealed.”
If knowledge is factive, it is not voluntary. In the paper, I discuss this relation within the framework of the theory of knowledge proposed by Adam Grobler. It directly questions the factivity of ...knowledge and indirectly assumes voluntariness. So, in fact, this theory shows how the acceptance of voluntariness leads to the rejection of factivity. I argue that the exact opposite is true by defending the factivity of knowledge. I also show that Grobler’s theory of knowledge is the variation of Lewis’s relevant alternative approach to knowledge.
Contemporary man deals primarily with indirect knowledge, i.e. second-hand knowledge. This leads to the problem of trust in authorities providing information and the reliability of these authorities. ...Since it is difficult to provide sufficient criteria for believing someone else᾽s opinion, perhaps minimum criteria for distrust should be sought.

In the article, I respond to the objections and comments to my book Epistemologia. Sandwiczowa teoria wiedzy Epistemology: A Sandwich Theory of Knowledge formulated by the participants of the seminar ...held in October 2021, namely Stanisław Judycki, Damian Leszczyński, Rafał Palczewski, Wojciech Sady, Tadeusz Szubka, Włodzimierz Zięba.
One of the distinguishing features of modern and contemporary philosophy is the fact that they are consistently grounded by the epistemological outlook. The essence of this outlook is the modern ...conception of knowledge, which could not exist without a proper evaluation of a systemic success — or, even more importantly, in some sense a successful failure — of modern science. The only way for us to perceive the lack of error as the basis of a reliable knowledge is to recognize our own fallacies. In such a way the ancient cosmocentrical worldview and the medieval theocentrical epistemology have been changed by the scientistic agnoiological approach, which had its origins in the modern times and includes the primary requirement to treat the fundamental ignorance as a reliable foundation of knowledge. In this article the reader is provided with a detailed exposition of the phenomenon of self-grounding of epistemological modernity. Adopting the terminology used in the metaphilosophical reflexion, we could reveal the dual origin of contemporary philosophical discourse, the basic principles which ground the epistemological claims, and also demonstrate the necessity of constant efforts when seeking to avoid solipsism and the paradoxical nature of modern epistemology.
