Artikkelen utforsker fotografier tatt av den danske kunstneren, fotografen og forfatteren Emilie Demant Hatt (1873–1958). Fotografiene ble første gang publisert i 1913 i boka Med lapperne i ...højfjeldet. Gjennom ulike perspektiver på bildene viser artikkelen hvordan det er mulig å se forbi den koloniale «overflaten» til bilder tatt av denne periodens reisende og etnografer, og hvordan repatriering og kunstneriske reappropriasjoner kan aktivere bildenes innhold på nye måter.
Inuuteq Storchs fotobok Porcelain Souls (2018) baserer seg på hans foreldres dagliglivsfotografier fra Kalaallit Nunaat (Grønland) mellom slutten av 1960- og begynnelsen av 1980-tallet. Artikkelen ...beskriver motivene og montasjene i fotoboken og spør på bakgrunn av nymaterialistisk teori hvordan fotografiene skaper en grønlandsk verden innenfra. Videre argumenter artikkelen for at fotoboken på en særlig måte former en verden av forbindelser mellom mennesker, dyr, landskap og ting, samtidig som den skaper gjenkjennelseseffekt og følelsesmessige virkninger som påkaller en engasjert, refleksiv og empatisk betrakter. Ved å appellere til egenmobilisering og alliansebygging forbinder Porcelain Souls seg til de viktige selvstendiggjøringsprosessene som for tiden foregår i Grønland.
Fotografi jalanan (street photography) menjadi sarana bagi fotografer Erik Prasetya untuk menggambarkan kota Jakarta secara visual dalam buku foto Jakarta: Estetika Banal. Di dalamnya terdapat hasil ...kerja fotografi selama sekitar 20 tahun yang berisi cerita tentang Jakarta. Foto-foto tersebut dicermati secara keseluruhan untuk mengetahui gambaran umum tentang Jakarta yang diusung oleh fotografer. Fotofoto tersebut dipilih sesuai dengan deskripsi umum dan dibahas lebih lanjut untuk mendapatkan cerita tentang Jakarta pada 1990-2000’an. Dalam foto-foto tersebut, Jakarta merupakan kota dengan masyarakat yang dinamis. Jalanan tidak pernah sepi dan tidak tidur meskipun di waktu malam. Bangunan, transportasi, para pekerja, mobilitas yang tinggi, menjadi bagian dari visual Jakarta, yang sekaligus menceritakan masih adanya kesenjangan ekonomi dan sosial masyarakatnya. Di dalamnya ternyata masih juga terdapat tawa dan kegembiraan. Semangat bertahan hidup di ibukota menjadi bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari cerita tentang Jakarta. Keindahan foto terlihat dari imaji yang ditampilkan mengeksplorasi teknik manual yang disesuaikan dengan kondisi dan situasi serta cerita yang hendak disampaikan. Keindahan lain dalam fotografi jalanan karya Erik Prasetya ini terdapat dari cerita visual yang tersaji. Fotografi jalanan tidak sekadar cerita tentang jalanan secara fisik, namun juga cerita tentang masyarakat di sepanjang jalan serta perjalanan kehidupan yang dilalui fotografer. Street Photography: Framing City in Stories. Erik Prasetya is photographer who uses street photography (fotografi jalanan) to narrate visually Jakarta in a photo book titled Jakarta: Estetika Banal. There are photos of his work for 20 years about Jakarta. The photos are examined as a whole to know the general idea of Jakarta carried by the photographer. They are selected to get the general description and finally are studied further to get stories about Jakarta in late 1990-2000. In these photos, Jakarta is a city with a dynamic society. The streets are never quiet and do not sleep at night though. Building, transportation, greater mobility of workers, become parts of Jakarta visually, which also tell the persistence of economic and social discrepancy in society. However, there are laughter and exhilaration that we can find. The spirit to survive in the capital becomes an integral part of the story of Jakarta. The beauty of the photos came from the images are displayed exploring manual techniques adapted to the conditions and situations, and stories that would be submitted. Another beauty of street photography works by Erik Prasetya is that there is a visual story presented. Street photography is not just a story about the streets physically, but also stories of people found along them as well as the journey of life experienced by the photographer.

Canopy-forming shrubs are reported to be increasing at sites around the circumpolar Arctic. Our results indicate expansion in canopy cover and height of willows on Herschel Island located at 70° ...north on the western Arctic coast of the Yukon Territory. We examined historic photographs, repeated vegetation surveys, and conducted monitoring of long-term plots and found evidence of increases of each of the dominant canopy-forming willow species (Salix richardsonii, Salix glauca and Salix pulchra), during the twentieth century. A simple model of patch initiation indicates that the majority of willow patches for each of these species became established between 1910 and 1960, with stem ages and maximum growth rates indicating that some patches could have established as late as the 1980s. Collectively, these results suggest that willow species are increasing in canopy cover and height on Herschel Island. We did not find evidence that expansion of willow patches is currently limited by herbivory, disease, or growing conditions.
SD Negeri Ketelan 12 Surakarta merupakan sekolah yang berada di tengah-tengah perkotaan tetapi menghadapi masalah kekurangan siswa dan fasilitas yang kurang memadai. Mayoritas guru kurang menguasai ...IT dan beberapa di antaranya memasuki usia pensiun. Selain itu, para guru kurang memiliki pemahaman terhadap Projek Penguatan Profil Pelajar Pancasila yang menjadi program baru Kementerian Pendidikan, Kebudayaan, Riset, dan Teknologi. Oleh sebab itu, permasalahan ini perlu diatasi melalui kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat sesuai dengan tema yang dipilih pihak sekolah, yaitu Kearifan Lokal. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi atas permasalahan yang dihadapi oleh SDN Ketelan 12 Surakarta. Pengabdian masyarakat dilakukan secara luring dalam bentuk workshop fotografi dan videografi untuk merekam pembuatan nasi liwet sebagai kearifan lokal makanan tradisional Surakarta. Beberapa faktor pendukung dalam kegiatan ini adalah antusiasme entitas sekolah, yaitu guru dan siswa. Sedangkan faktor penghambat kegiatan adalah siswa masih perlu bimbingan orang dewasa selama projek berlangsung. Kegiatan ini perlu dilanjutkan agar entitas sekolah benar-benar dapat memahami dan mengimplementasikannya dalam kehidupan sehari-hari.
