The article analyzes the uses and views that some historians have of the short story by Carmo Gama "Quilombolas --lenda mineira inedita", published in 1904. I initially present the quilombola leader ...Ambrosio, and then verify how the facts narrated in Gama's fiction are used. The form of the fiction and the content of the document inform aspects of reality, which must be scrutinized by the historian. The narrative, in trying to establish itself through the dynamic writing of literature, does not lose its value. I sought to confront Gama's text with historiographical criticism, comparing it with the sources about Quilombo do Ambrosio, present in the Arquivo Publico Mineiro. The elements of history in dialogue with literature stood out, listed by the effort of the novelist's memory. I tried to show that the literary text and the document have the function of reference, in which the writing of history can be re-signified. Keywords: Quilombo; Fiction; Document. Busquei confrontar o texto de Gama com a critica historiografica, comparando em seguida com as fontes sobre o Quilombo do Ambrosio, presentes no Arquivo Publico Mineiro. Sobressairam, assim, os elementos da historia em dialogo com a literatura, elencados pelo esforco da memoria do romancista. The GAMA aqueous homogeneous reactor (GAMA-AHR) is an AHR design developed by the Nuclear Reactor Research Team at the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics, Universitas Gadjah Mada. This nonpower reactor produces valuable radioisotopes, mostly molybdenum-99, that are intended for medical purposes. The standard GAMA-AHR design utilizes 3.0 % mole of uranyl nitrate as seed (fissile) fuel and 4 % mole of thorium nitrate as blanket (fertile) fuel, and both are dissolved in light water as solutions. Compared with other AHR designs, the GAMA-AHR utilizes light water as the reflector instead of graphite. This design allows the use of a completely passive post-shutdown cooling system. Criticality calculation and neutronic parameter analysis were performed utilizing SCALE6.2 and OpenMC computer codes with the ENDF/B-VII.1 neutron cross section library, respectively. The analyzed parameters comprised power distribution, excess reactivity, shutdown margin, shutdown capability using a fuel drain tank, control-rod worth, temperature reactivity coefficient, and void reactivity coefficient (αθ). From the calculation results, the GAMA-AHR exhibited an excess reactivity of 0.07843 Δk/k at zero burn-up in 3.0 % mole of uranyl nitrate solution. The excess reactivity at zero burn-up increased with the increase in the mole fraction of uranyl nitrate until the maximum value of 0.215 Δk/k at 15 % mole of uranyl nitrate. The GAMA-AHR exhibited the control-rod shutdown margin of −0.03072 Δk/k at a normal operation temperature (80 °C) and −0.01958 Δk/k at 40 °C. Draining of the seed-fuel solution shut down the reactor with a shutdown reactivity of −1.40385 Δk/k. The GAMA-AHR showed a negative feedback for temperature and αθ, with values of −0.000155 Δk/(k.°C) and −0.00353 Δk/(k.%), respectively. These results prove the inherent safety characteristic of the GAMA-AHR. The GAMA-AHR with the thermal power of 200 kWth capable to produce 2500 six day Ci per week of Mo-99.
Introdução: Profissionais de saúde foram os indivíduos que sofreram constantemente os impactos da COVID-19 sendo considerados prioridade para a vacinação no Brasil. A proteção induzida pelas vacinas ...disponíveis contra o vírus baseia-se principalmente na produção de anticorpos. Esses anticorpos geralmente bloqueiam a interação do vírus com seu receptor celular ou impedem as alterações conformacionais necessárias para a fusão do vírus com a membrana celular. Objetivo: Estudar a resposta à vacina CoronaVac em profissionais da saúde, avaliando a resposta anticórpica, e a resposta de células T. Métodos: Foi realizada coleta de sangue para separação das células mononucleares do sangue periférico (PMBC) por gradiente de densidade Ficoll-Hypaque. Estas células foram transferidas para placa de cultura na concentração de 2 × 105 células/poço, por 18 horas, em duplicata nas seguintes condições: sem estímulo, estimuladas com mitógenos, estimuladas com pool de peptídeos de SARS-CoV-2, nos poços para avaliação de citocinas foi acrescido Brefeldina A. Após estímulo as células foram transferidas para tubos de citometria, e marcadas para: avaliação de resposta celular com CD3, CD4, CD8, Interferon-γ (INF-γ) e CD38. As células foram adquiridas em citômetro de fluxo LSR Fortessa. Resultados: Apenas no grupo R, os linfócitos TCD8 mostraram maior expressão de CD38 quando estimulados com o pool de peptídeos. A frequência de produtores de INF- γ e não produtores de INF- γ foi semelhante (75.9 % e 77.1%). No grupo NR a produção de INF- γ ocorreu em maior parte concomitantemente por linfócitos TCD4 e TCD8, diferente do grupo R que demonstrou produção semelhante seja por apenas um ou dois tipos de linfócitos T. Conclusão: A produção ou não de anticorpos não parece ter relação direta com a secreção de INF-γ ou expressão de CD38 por linfócitos T. Não houve diferença significativa na produção de INF- γ entre os grupos R e NR.
Este artigo interpreta a posição política e intelectual de Luiz Gama frente aos movimentos em defesa do fim da escravidão. Analisa suas narrativas e escritos publicados no jornal Radical Paulistano ...na segunda metade do século XIX, com destaque para o seu papel diferenciado no interior do Clube Radical. Por fim, concluímos que a participação ativa de Luiz Gama no interior do movimento liberal contribuiu para dar forma as ações desse movimento social.
The present work seeks to recognize the multiple forms of identification of female supporters that attend stadiums, specifically, among the fans of the Club de Regatas Vasco da Gama, in Rio de ...Janeiro. In order to recognize the many nuances of an identity generally perceived as a homogeneous block in its forms of cheering, media and academically, disregarding the multiple experiences of the fans. For this, a survey was applied between October 24, 2019 and November 30, 2019 to 101 women attending stadiums. Basta observar que torcemos para um grupo de onze homens contra outros onze, sob o comando de uma equipe técnica e administrativa formada, quase exclusivamente, por homens.
Background and objective: The leading cause of morbidity and mortality globally is coronary artery disease (CAD). One of the recent new parameters for evaluating CAD is Serum GGT, which has been ...shown to be a predictor of coronary artery status irrespective of the traditional cardiovascular risk variables. This study aimed to evaluate and assess the correlation between serum GGT and other variables among patients with CAD in comparison with healthy subjects. Methods: A case-control prospective study. Subjects were grouped into Group I (CAD patients-117 individuals) and Group II (healthy Subjects-83 individuals) based on their Coronary Angiographic profile at surgical specialty Hospital-Cardiac Center-Erbil/Iraq. Parameters of S. GGT, S. total cholesterol, S.HDL-C, S.LDL-C, S. VLDL-C, and S.TG, S. (25)OH vitamin D, serum troponin T, S.CK-MB, and CRP were assessed for both groups. Results: The study population included 58% of male and 42% of female participants, with an age range of 30-77, with a mean of 56.13± 10.5 years old. The Pearson’s correlation coefficient of serum GGT with other variables showed that the relation between serum GGT with VLDL-C, CRP, and Triglyceride among CAD patients was found to be a weakly positive correlation and statistically significant (r=0.3, P = 0.004), (r=0.2, P = 0.031), and (r=0.3, P = 0.007) respectively. Conclusion: The present study showed that S.GGT as a new potential biochemical marker for preclinical atherosclerosis, would be a useful and important marker for assessing and evaluating risk factors of coronary artery disease and to further evaluations for CAD.
Since its publication in 1572 the poem Os Lusiadas by Luis de Camoes has been considered a masterwork, describing in decasyllabic verses one of the most extraordinary events of the Portuguese ...sixteenth century: the conquest of seas never before sailed and the triumphant arrival in the lands of Calicut in 1497. However, it was only from the last quarter of the eighteenth century that Camoes's work became a scholarly benchmark in the curriculum vitae of Portuguese artists. This was due above all to the cultural context of the era, closely attuned to the interest of the Lisbon elites in recovering Portuguese poetic memory. It can be stated that this era witnessed the recovery of Os Lusiadas, which had won its own space in Lisbon artistic circles, later serving different "causes" throughout the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, in a striking process of reversed "Ekfrasis".

Graphitic Carbon Nitride (gCN) can be used in many fields such as sensing, solar energy and device construction. In this study, gCN obtained from urea and thiourea precursors were produced to determine the radiation shielding properties. The structural features and optical properties of these produced samples were investigated. Also, the radiation shielding properties were determined experimentally. Here, Linear Attenuation Coefficient values were determined experimentally and Mass Attenuation Coefficient, Half-Value Layer, Tenth-Value Layer and Mean Free Path values were calculated employing this value. According to obtained results, it is seen that obtained gCN can be used effectively in radiation shielding.
