Abstract The various studies surrounding the literature of philosophy of mind bring us closer to the understanding of consciousness from physicalists, naturalists and eliminativists studies, which, ...for the most part, succumb to the problem of dualism (Cartesian inheritance). For this reason, this paper will analyze the Searlean theory of consciousness, in order to propose language as a constituent element of the nature of this mental state, and not as a product derived from the mind. Algunos estudiosos de la mente han llegado a plantear que parte de estos rasgos han sido tomados de la obra de Husserl: Investigaciones lógicas I y II (1900- 1901), sin embargo, al hablar con el autor, en un encuentro en Berkeley (2015), Searle afirma no tener tal influencia, pues los rasgos que expone son producto de los estudios sobre neurociencias y su teoría de Actos de habla (1969) que lo incitaron a transitar por el misterio de la conciencia, y si bien -afirma el autor- "hay cercanía entre mi propuesta y la de Husserl, no es porque lo haya leído, sino por la universalidad de los mismos rasgos, que le son propios a la naturaleza del fenómeno de la conciencia, y al estudiarlo se hacen ostensibles". Sin embargo, los aportes de Edelman en 1989 han evolucionado, como él mismo lo expone en los estudios realizados en compañía de Tononi, expuestos en su artículo Consciousness and complexity (1998) y retomados, posteriormente, en su libro A universe of consciousness, how matter becomes imagination (2000).
"Finally, Fairies!: A Study in Hauntological Choreography" is the written thesis that documents the creative research, development, and critical reflection of my dance production Finally, Fairies!, a ...requirement of the M.F.A. in Dance at the University of Maryland, College Park. Finally, Fairies! premiered March 11–13, 2022, at the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center's Dance Theatre. In outlining the process from ideation to performance, I illuminate my personal history and artistic lineage in dance performance and choreography. I consider my choreographic impulses and choices in relationship to hauntology, a concept given name by Jacques Derrida and expanded upon by contemporary theorists such as Mark Fisher, Jack Halberstam, and Merlin Coverley. I explore hauntological moods, methodologies, Vaporwave music, and emergent forms of composition that involve both improvisation and choreography. Ultimately, I offer close readings of Finally, Fairies! to further expose what the performance proposed, as well as develop and trouble formulations of presence and embodiment through an insistence on spectrality and indeterminacy.
La profundización del análisis de la relación entre el yo y la afección, propia de los estudios tardíos de Husserl sobre el campo de la pasividad, implica el abandono del esquema estático según el ...cual el sentido resulta de la acción del yo sobre una materia inerte. El giro genético de la fenomenología pone a la luz los procesos de constitución de la materia y su incidencia sobre el acto de donación de sentido.
In this article, we present two accounts of intersubjectivity in Jaspers and Husserl, respectively. We argue that both can be brought together for a more satisfying account of empathy and ...communication in the context of psychiatric praxis. But while we restrict ourselves for the most part to this praxis, we also indicate the larger agenda that drives Jaspers and Husserl, despite all disagreement. Here we spell out, in particular, how a phenomenologically inspired account of empathy and intersubjectivity can have larger ramifications for a theory of social life and interaction. Finally, we argue for a 'relaxed' view concerning the relation between pure and applied phenomenology, such that both can mutually benefit from one another.

Sob o interesse de investigar a formação da escrita de José Saramago (1922-2010), este trabalho dissertativo, numa perspectiva de análise diacrónica e sincrónica, tem como meta analisar, ...principalmente, a construção dos primeiros romances deste escritor português. Para isso, propomos uma tipologia dos componentes ficcionais e dos recursos lítero-linguísticos, presentes nos escritos produzidos e publicados entre 1947 e 1980, abandonados e ou acentuados, nesta fase inicial, que configuram os aspectos fundacionais de sua obra. E os nossos objetivos são: (i) conceptualizar as mundividências e ambiências, que formaram a escrita saramaguiana, a partir, respectivamente, das noções de narrador e personagem, de tempo e dos espaços, advindos da produção romanesca e da diversidade genológica do escritor; (ii) identificar o processo de ficcionalização da relação história-tempo, intermediada pelas ideias de memória e imaginação, nesse demarcado corpus; (iii) mapear fundamentações sobre intertexto e outras vozes (ecos), e sobre a intertextualidade como operação estéticoestilística, que foi enredando o percurso inicial das personagens e do narrador, pressupondo-se uma retórica intertextual à Saramago; e (iv) demonstrar uma génese do romance saramaguiano, mediada por comparações, desdobramentos e relações entre os romances (Terra do Pecado, Claraboia, Manual de Pintura e Caligrafia e Levantado do Chão) com outros géneros, nessa fase, e outras narrativas do mesmo género, de outra fases, na medida em que for cabível e válido serem invocados. Numa investigação exploratória e bibliográfica, a presente dissertação se fundamenta, para além da anterior Crítica literária sobre esta fase do escritor e de alguma autorrecensão, numa abordagem estética e teórico-historiográfica, mas também nos estudos sobre texto e intertexto literários, a partir do conceito de memória, a permear tanto a noção de imaginação quanto a de eco, em sublinha a Estética recepcional e a Literatura e Psicanálise. À medida que a escrita se foi formando e encontrando sua voz autoral, o molde (peripatético, fabuloso e intertextual) do romance saramaguiano se foi delineando e ganhando os contornos, que podemos observar, e pelos quais ficou reconhecido o autor, nos romances de fases posteriores.
Abstract This article situates the phenomenological-hermeneutical framework around the other and develops the hypothesis that the issue of intersubjectivity is central in understanding the ...fundamental categories related to any thought regarding alterity which are proposed in philosophy, in literatura, and in socio-political discourse, since it implies a central questioning about the analogy. Assuming the work of E. Husserl, and especially the contemporary comments on Phänomenologie der Intersubjektivität,we advance toward an interdisciplinary focus of the "other" and the "alter ego" -proper to an analysis of the human experience-, demonstrating that the experience of sociability is forged from the original life experiences that refer to a determined way of understanding the analogic relationship between the self and the other and the others. La reducción intersubjetiva es claramente uno de los puntos de mayor discordia, en cuanto que la mayor parte de los autores que se apoyan en Husserl para esclarecer una ontologia de lo social y comprender la vida cotidiana - rechazan algunos aspectos considerando que son constitutivos de un subjetivismo cartesiano y de la derivación idealista husserliana de la que sería prisionera en un cierto sentido Meditaciones Cartesianas. Según Ricoeur la repuesta de Husserl no es simple ya que requiere articular tres grados: - La formación de pareja: la analogía pasa del sentido 'ego' al cuerpo de otro que apresenta su propia vida; aquí se produce una sutura entre descripción y constitución. -
This paper examines the reception of Edmund Husserl's phenomenology in Philosophy and Phenomenological Research, a philosophy quarterly which was founded in conjunction with the International Society ...of Phenomenology and for which Marvin Farber served as editor until his death in 1980. From its founding in 1940, Farber relied on the editorial support of many of Husserl's enthusiastic students who found themselves intellectual exiles, including Husserl's son. Farber's professional and personal interaction with Husserl's ardent followers reveals a dramatic story of former students who were ever vigilant about maintaining the core values of the Master's unique philosophy, and Farber's personal philosophical transformation from a publicist of Husserl's work to a guarded critic intent on avoiding the promotion of sectarianism.
