Il territorio del Comune citta di Capodistria (Koper, Slovenia) copre una superf ice di 311 Kmq e va dal mare Adriatico sino ai Monti della Vena in cui raggiunge la quota di 1028 metri s.l.m. (monte ...Taiano). Nel complesso esso e caratterizzato da una grande eterogeneita ambientale che consente lo sviluppo di associazioni vegetali molto diverse tra loro. Nel presente lavoro, tenendo conto di ricerche dirette, fonti bibliografiche e segnalazioni inedite e riportata e discussa una check-list aggiornata di tutte le Orchidaceae comprendente 54 taxa, di cui 5 ibridi. Inoltre e stata fatta anche ľanalisi corologica che evidenzia la prevalenza dell'elemento eurasiatico seguito da quello mediterraneo. Nel complesso l'insieme dei taxa presentí sono tipici di un ambito fitogeografico di transizione.
Študija je posvečena koprskim kapetanom Slovanov (Capitaneus Sclavorum Justinopolis), ki jih v virih kot poveljnike koprskega podeželja v času Beneške republike zasledimo od leta 1349 pa vse do ...začetka 19. stoletja. Vsekakor gre vsaj po imenu za edinstveno funkcijo, ki je bila doslej vse premalo raziskana. Poleg arhivskih virov nekaterih ustanov Beneške republike, pa temeljni vir za to študijo predstavlja v prilogi k članku v slovenščino prevedena knjiga kapetanov Slovanov. Knjiga vsebuje določbe, zlasti v zvezi s pobiranjem dajatev, pa tudi splošne določbe o pristojnostih kapetana Slovanov, in sicer od leta 1587 do 1724. Posebno vlogo je imel koprski kapetan Slovanov zlasti v vojaški organizaciji koprskega komuna, skrbel je za organizacijo obrambe na koprskem podeželju, za vprašanje meja med vaškimi komuni, za pobiranje davkov in dajatev, zadolžen pa je bil še za nižje sodne zadeve, za organizacijo obrambe in nadzora beneško-habsburške meje tako v času raznih vojaških spopadov kot epidemij, saj so v obrambnih postojankah s kmečkimi vojaki pod poveljstvom kapetana Slovanov oblikovali prostore za karantene za potnike, ki so prihajali iz okuženih dežel.
The problems of choosing an optimal solution for the position of the route of infrastructural facilities is present in most developed countries. The primary problem is the identification and ...objective consideration of all influencing factors. The aim of this paper is to show that with the application of multiple-criteria analysis, conclusions related to the evaluation and selection of the appropriate railroad route can be reached in the process of planning and design. This paper provides an overview of the possible consideration and evaluation of alternative railroad route solutions. To achieve the goal of research, a model of the selection of an optimal railroad route by using the multiple-criteria analysis has been set. The proposed theoretical model was applied for the selection of the railroad route that connects Rijeka, Koper, and Trieste.

Reverse logistics services are part of a trend toward incorporating environmental concerns into business philosophy and everyday business operation of manufacturing firms. An Environmental Management System (EMS) is a set of processes and practices that enable companies to reduce its environmental impacts and increase its operating efficiency. The EMS provides the direction to reverse logistics and environmental activities. The author first discusses the general principles of reverse logistics in the manufacturing firms, which could clarify the importance of reverse logistics activities. The author then concentrates on the importance of EMS in helping companies to achieve their environmental goals. Finally, the EMS and reverse logistics activities in Port of Koper are presented.
The subject of the paper is to investigate the hypothetical perceptions of the impact of the selected institutional factors on the efficiency of the selected Adriatic Sea ports. The aim of the paper ...is to show that Adriatic Sea ports must accept and implement much faster and bigger institutional changes, which can be the basis for their efficiency increase, expansion, and development. Therefore, this paper starts with the basic hypothesis that there is a direct and proportionate dependence between the efficiency of the Adriatic Sea ports of Koper, Rijeka and Bar, and the level of their institutional strength. To research the perception of the institutional impact factors, the multiple linear regression method is used. It is concluded that the level of the selected institutional factors differs not only in the selected ports individually but also between them. The research results have verified the initial hypothesis .
In the Mediterranean Sea Cymodocea nodosa is considered a valid indicator of environmental changes, due to its extensive distribution, sensitivity to different pressures, and measurability of species ...responses to those stressors. Navigation routes are recognized among the main pressures on the status of C. nodosa meadows in the Gulf of Trieste, related to a high resuspension of sediments and, in consequence, high water turbidity and reduced light levels. The MediSkew index was applied to samples collected in the C. nodosa meadow growing near the Port of Koper, and the ecological status was evaluated. The results were compared to those obtained for the C. nodosa samples from the reference site in the Gulf of Trieste, the Strunjan Nature Reserve.
Purpose of Review
Anthropogenic activities can lead to the loss, fragmentation, and alteration of wildlife habitats. I reviewed the recent literature (2014–2019) focused on the responses of avian, ...mammalian, and herpetofaunal species to oil and natural gas development, a widespread and still-expanding land use worldwide. My primary goals were to identify any generalities in species’ responses to development and summarize remaining gaps in knowledge. To do so, I evaluated the directionality of a wide variety of responses in relation to taxon, location, development type, development metric, habitat type, and spatiotemporal aspects.

Studies (

= 70) were restricted to the USA and Canada, and taxonomically biased towards birds and mammals. Longer studies, but not those incorporating multiple spatial scales, were more likely to detect significant responses. Negative responses of all types were present in relatively low frequencies across all taxa, locations, development types, and development metrics but were context-dependent. The directionality of responses by the same species often varied across studies or development metrics.
Summary
The state of knowledge about wildlife responses to oil and natural gas development has developed considerably, though many biases and gaps remain. Studies outside of North America and that focus on herpetofauna are lacking. Tests of mechanistic hypotheses for effects, long-term studies, assessment of response thresholds, and experimental designs that isolate the effects of different stimuli associated with development, remain critical. Moreover, tests of the efficacy of habitat mitigation efforts have been rare. Finally, investigations of the demographic effects of development across the full annual cycle were absent for non-game species and are critical for the estimation of population-level effects.

V prvih povojnih letih so se na Koprsko iz notranjosti Slovenije večinoma priseljevali strokovni in politični kadri, v ...poznejšem obdobju pa so se priseljenci zaposlovali kot industrijski delavci. Po avtorjevi hipotezi so komunistične oblasti načrtno spodbujale priseljevanje samo v prvem obdobju, pozneje pa so ti procesi potekali precej bolj spontano.
This article discusses how Venice, in its political representation, valued the relation with the sacred as one of the main strategies for strengthening its political power in Istrian communities. ...Through associations with the cults of local saints, the Republic participated in the (co)creation of local memory and identity as evinced in the cases of St. Nazarius, the patron saint of Koper, and St. Euphemia, the patron saint of Rovinj. A new impetus was given to their cults in the 15th century after the restitution of their relics as attested by commissions of several liturgical objects made in the Venetian botteghe. The restitution of the relics of St. Euphemia in 1401, here confirmed by the archival research, is a rare documented case in Venetian political and religious practices. The growth of devotion to the saint was prompted by the return of the body, but also by the Venetian custom of developing cults in a coordinated manner, encompassing liturgical celebrations, legends and their visual expressions. This article sheds new light on the role of Venetian officials in the promotion of the cult of St. Euphemia and the authorship of the key illuminations in the Rovinj Illuminated Codex.
The subject of this paper is the analysis of perceptions of 210 respondents about the level of possible business cooperation between the three Adriatic seaports (Bar, Koper and Rijeka). The aim of ...the research is to assess the degree of negative impact of individual key influencing factors which are grouped in the model according to the principle of compatibility into three independent variables at the level of possible business cooperation (as dependent variables). It starts from the basic hypothesis that further development of these seaports, among other things, should be based on their greater business cooperation, because it can significantly increase their competitiveness (Juscius et al., 2020) in the wider region through better business and logistics competencies. The authors have also defined the auxiliary hypothesis that in order to establish the mentioned business cooperation, it is necessary to overcome many economic, political, institutional and other barriers (Gupta et al. 2019; Panikarova et al, 2020; Draskovic et al., 2020). The paper uses the method of multiple linear regression to determine the relationship between the dependent and the independent variables.
