This issue of Computers and Fluids has been compiled to celebrate the 60th birthday of a friend and colleague David A. Kopriva, who currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at ...The Florida State University with a courtesy appointment in Mechanical Engineering. Kopriva is widely recognized as the pioneer of higher-order multi-domain methods for the solution of hyperbolic conservation laws. He has written landmark papers and a book. His work has formed the basis for main stream higher-order discontinuous spectral element methods that are now emerging as a superior alternative to finite volume methods in terms of flexibility, accuracy and computational efficiency.
U ovom radu provedena je priprava tekućeg organskog gnojiva tijekom 17 dana kroz dvije serije uzoraka. Za fermentaciju su upotrijebljeni suhi mljeveni korijen koprive i suhi cvjetovi kamilice. Uzorci ...su pripremljeni otapanjem 20 g suhog bilja u 1 l vode i to u dvije serije: otapanjem u tehnološki pripremljenoj demineraliziranoj vodi s pH = 7 i σ = 0,83 μS cm–1 i u vodi odstajaloj 48 h na sobnoj temperaturi s pH = 7,18 i σ = 374 μS cm–1. Tijekom fermentacije provedene u temperaturnom rasponu okoline 4 – 15 °C, ispitivane su promjene pH vrijednosti, ukupne otopljene tvari (otopljenih soli), kao i električne vodljivosti uzoraka. Dobiveni rezultati pokazuju promjenu pH vrijednosti kod fermentacije uzoraka u odstajaloj vodi čije su vrijednosti blizu optimalnim vrijednostima (5,00 – 5,50) potrebnim za primjenu tekućeg organskog gnojiva. Uočava se i oslobađanje veće količine ukupne otopljene tvari u takvim uzorcima, a izmjerene su i više vrijednosti električne vodljivosti.

Cilj ovog istraživanja bio je utvrditi utjecaj dodatka kamilice i koprive kao prirodnih dodataka u hranidbi tovnih pilića na kvalitetu njihova mesa. Istraživanje je provedeno na 120 jednodnevnih ...pilića hibrida Ross 308, podijeljenih u 4 skupine. Kontrolna (K) skupina bez prirodnih dodataka u kompletnoj krmnoj smjesi te tri pokusne skupine (P1, P2, P3): P1 skupina uz dodatak 2 % koprive, P2 uz dodatak 2 % kamilice te P3 uz dodatak 1 % koprive + 1 % kamilice u kompletnim krmnim smjesama. Tov pilića trajao je 6 tjedana. Od 1. do 21. dana istraživanja pilići su bili hranjeni standardnom krmnom smjesom starter (22,05 % sirovih bjelančevina), a od 22. do 42. dana istraživanja krmnom smjesom finišer (20,18 % sirovih bjelančevina). Istraživanjem je utvrđeno kako je pokusna skupina P3 imala statistički značajno niže žive mase i mase trupa u odnosu na K, P1 i P2 skupinu pilića (P<0,01). Uz to utvrđeno je kako je postojala statistički značajna razlika u udjelima leđa sa zdjelicom između P3 i K skupine pilića (P<0,005) te statistički značajna razlika u udjelu vrata između K i P2 skupine pilića (P<0,005). Postojala je statistički značajna razlika (P<0,05) u vrijednostima pH1 i pH2, u vrijednostima boje kože CIE a* (P<0,05) i CIE b* (P<0,01) te boji mesa u CIE L* (P<0,05) parametru, dok kod kemijskog sastava pilećih prsa nije utvrđena statistički značajna razlika između kontrolne i pokusnih skupina niti kod jednog promatranog pokazatelja. Istraživanje je potvrdilo moguću primjenu kamilice i koprive kao prirodnih dodataka u hranidbi pilića jer spomenuti prirodni dodatci svojim bioaktivnim komponentama učinkovito djeluju na pigmentaciju kože što takve proizvode čini potencijalno privlačnijim krajnjim potrošačima te utječe na njihov odabir i odluku o kupnji upravo takvih proizvoda.
The government signed a ten-year lease of 14 Swedish fighters Jas-39 Gripen in 2004. The selection of the new aircraft started in the mid-1990s, but the tender was only put up in 2001. Interest in ...the bid was voiced by five manufacturers, but eventually only Jas-39 Gripen, produced by the British-Swedish consortium BAE Systems/Saab, stayed in the game. The government approved the purchase of 24 Gripens for about 60 billion crowns, but the plan was opposed by the Senate. Last March, the government approved the acquisition of 107 APCs Pandur II from the Austrian firm Steyr for about 14.4 billion crowns. The government made a decision on the APC's purchase in 2006 already when giving a go-ahead to the purchase of 199 APCs from Steyr for 23.6 billion crowns. However, the APCs did not comply with test requirements and the government decided to cancel the original contract in 2007. Former Defence Minister Martin Bartak announced in September 2009 that the Czech Republic and Slovakia would jointly buy light multi-role armoured Ivecos. The contract for the delivery of Ivecos along with logistics and ammunition for over 3.6 billion was concluded last December.

Prague, 28 February: The Czech Chamber of Deputies lower house defence committee wants to postpone the decision on whether the Czech military should order another 35 armoured personnel carriers APCs ...from the Austrian company Steyr, chairman of the committee Jan Vidim (the Civic Democratic Party, ODS) told journalists today. Under the contract, Steyr is to deliver 199 APCs worth 23.6bn korunas. Jaroslav Kopriva said that contract for another 35 APCs would cost some 3.5bn korunas.
