National identity, referred to in Article 4(2) TEU, has been interpreted in different ways by the Court of Justice of the European Union and by different constitutional jurisdictions in some member ...States. This paper examines the evolution of the regulation of constitutional identity in the Union's treaties and in the case law of the Court of Luxembourg and certain constitutional courts, and proposes, in the light of the analysis carried out, some hypotheses as to which bodies should be responsible for invoking national identity, in which cases and with what effects.
In 2018, North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un expressed his desire to write a new history of Korean reunification. South Korean President Moon Jae-in reciprocated Kim’s desire in August 2019 when Moon set ...the ambitious deadline of the year 2045 for a peaceful reunification of the Koreas. The rhetoric of the two Koreas placed a renewed spotlight on the reunification of the Korean Peninsula. While contemporary literature on Korean reunification primarily focuses on the differences between the two Koreas, little attention has been paid to how a unified Korean identity can play a crucial rule in sustaining the reunification effort. This article seeks to bridge that gap by arguing that a unified Korea should be understood as a reimagined community of two distinct nations joined by a shared identity. To support this argument, this article looks first to the theoretical framework of Benedict Anderson’s Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origin and Spread of Nationalism and applies the framework to the history of Korea’s shared identity. Second, the article analyzes the evolution of the national identities of both South Korea and North Korea since 1945, when the Koreas were divided along the thirty-eighth parallel. Third, the obstacles to reunification are examined. Finally, suggestions on how reunification of the two Koreas could be sustained through shared national identities are explored.
The article deals with the dilemmas of the national identity of Kosovar Albanians. The author presents this problem from the perspective of selected scientific theories and presents the results of ...empirical research. The text consists of two main parts (theoretical and practical). The theoretical part was divided into two parts. The first includes considerations on the concept of identity in social sciences, and the second foucuses on the analysis of the concept of national identity (selected concepts). The research part presents the results of empirical research related to the level of self-identification in terms of national identity of Kosovar Albanians. The text opens with an introduction and instead of the ending, the author includes a symbolic quote.

The article is devoted to the problem of analysis of saving the national identity of the ethnic Polish group on the territory of the Olonets province (modern Republic of Karelia, Arkhangelsk and ...Leningrad Oblast) in the historical perspective. Basing on the analysis of the resources of personal nature (memoirs), as well as the Russian and Polish historiography the main distinguishing characteristics of the national Polish identity on the hostile social-cultural environment were studied. Due to the research the authors concluded that the driving force of preserving the national identity was the religious factor, opening itself in the activity of the exiled priests and such traditional Polish leisure activities such as: choral singing, reading of religious and secular national literature, organization is the educational process.

Abstract: The purpose of this article is to reflect about the relationship between urban landscape and national identity through the construction of the Centenario stadium in 1930. Simultaneously to this process, while Uruguay's national identity was being consolidated, the country was celebrating one hundred years of independence. In order to address these issues, events such as the inauguration of the Centenario stadium on July 18 and the holding of the 1930 FIFA World Cup, decisions taken and supported by the idea of an "advanced country", accompanied by the centenary of Uruguay's independence, are brought to the scene. The 1930s are presented as a fundamental stage in the creation of a feeling that awakens adhesion to the country.
An overarching, supraordinate identity (e.g., European identity) can enhance intergroup relations if individuals recategorize ingroup and outgroup members into one, unified group. Yet, in ...conflict‐affected societies, ethno‐national identities may promote negative intergroup attitudes and behaviours. The effects of European and ethno‐national identities in combination have yet to be explored in childhood. If they can be integrated, the inclusivity of a supraordinate European identity may be felt despite the divisiveness of ethno‐national identities in post‐accord societies. This research assesses supraordinate identity integration in relation to quality intergroup contact and cross‐group friendships among the post‐accord generation in Croatia, Kosovo and Republic of North Macedonia (RNM). These sites have relatively recent conflicts, but varying relationships to the EU. Data were collected from 382 children aged 7–11, split evenly by minority and majority status (Croatia n = 90; Kosovo n = 107; RNM n = 185). Children across all three sites had integrated ethno‐national/European identities. Levels of identity integration varied by site, but not group status. Identity integration was positively and significantly associated with quality of outgroup contact and number of cross‐group friends, and this relationship varied by site. Integrated supraordinate identities have promising implications for intergroup relations and the future of peacebuilding in Europe. The focus of this article is the development of Volodymyr Zelensky as an actor with a career spanning over 20 years, mainly concentrated in the field of comedy genres, before he was elected President ...of Ukraine. As a key to the understanding of Zelensky's performance style, Mikhail Chekhov's theory of acting is drawn, insofar as, on the one hand, it is particularly relevant in the context of the post-Soviet artistic scene, and on the other hand, it offers tools for building a stage and screen image, whose effects are visible precisely in the realm of comedy. Zelensky's on-screen presence from the end of the 1990s and the evolution of his team from Studio Kvartal 95 are traced in the context of the question of whether the TV shows and the series „Servant of the People" can be commented on as a political project, especially after the annexation of Crimea in 2014. The role of satire in the process of forming civic consciousness in the audience and even in the process of forming national identity is considered. Ultimately, the observations stress the political functionality of the image of the actor-comedian, who will eventually face the tragedy of war.
