Dobro si oglejte sliko na vaših zaslonih, to je Karlovški most ali »mrtvaška brv«, kot ga imenujejo tam okoli, ...most, na katerega se stekajo poleg zagrebške vpadnice še štiri važne in zelo prometne ceste, da ne govorimo o cesti, ki pripelje strmo z ljubljanskega gradu naravnost na nepregledno križišče na mestni strani mostu in potem zavije mimo številnih avtomobilov in konjskih vpreg nanj. Nič napak ne bo, če rečemo, da je to najbolj prometno vozlišče v Ljubljani, ki vsaj v tem trenutku – kljub dolgoletnim obljubam nima nobenih izgledov, da bi bilo v kratkem rešeno.
Najbolj bo to razumel voznik, ki je že kdaj pripeljal z dolenjske strani in okoli ovinka dobesedno »padel« na most. O tem, da to ne uspe vedno najbolje pričajo lesena mašila v železni ograji. Pričajo o vseh vozilih, ki so že padla preko roba, nekaj metrov globoko dol v reko in o voznikih, ki so tu izgubili življenje – v zadnjih dveh letih štirje.
Dokler ne bomo uredili vozlišča tudi ogledala in stop-znaki ne bodo rešili problema, mi pa bomo vsako leto zavestno žrtvovali »mrtvaški brvi« po dva člana naše skupnosti ter za nekaj milijonov razbitih vozil.

Preučevanje naravnih nesreč je v zadnjih desetletjih eden najpomembnejših vidikov aplikacije fizične geografije v Sloveniji. Ogroženost zaradi tovrstnih naravnih dogodkov je namreč na različne načine ...prisotna v vsaki kulturni pokrajini, in sicer kot njihovi neposredni učinki in konkretni načini varovanja pred njimi, kot izogibanje ogroženim območjem in tudi kot napačni posegi v prostor. Vse to so pomembne geografske teme, s katerimi se bo morala geografija v prihodnje še intenzivneje ukvarjati, poleg tega pa bo potrebno upoštevati tudi subjektivno zaznavanje ogroženosti zaradi naravnih nesreč kot pomembno izhodišče nadaljnjih posegov v ogrožena območja, na katerih delujejo potencialno škodljivi ali nevarni naravni procesi.
