Purpose and originality: The purpose of this paper is to advert the state of youth unemployment, with comparison in two countries, Slovenia and Slovakia. Method:We analysed unemployment of young ...population. In our paper we used quantitative analysis and comparative method which we deal with comparison of two countries and percentage of youth unemployment. Data were collected through document collection from available literature and mostly from available internet portals such as statistic office of Slovak republic and statistic office of Slovenia. We collected as much data as it was possible in general point of view. Results:We analysed and compared those data to get wider point of view on the youth unemployment. In our paper we deal with hypothesis which says that youth unemployment within countries is higher than general unemployment and the second hypothesis says that Slovakia has higher percentage of unemployed young people. We confirmed our hypothesis in the paper. Society:We strongly believe that this analysis will help to understand the state of youth unemployment, with which obstacles has to deal with and also if there are differences between countries. Limitations/ further research:We suggest further research on possibilities for young population, if they use possible and available supports and grants. For further research we suggest to analyse “Guarantees for youth” which are supposed to support young people aged 25-30 to activate their career on labour market.
The Court of Slovenian National Honour was established in early June 1945. Until the end of August 1945, it tried those who had (allegedly) collaborated with the occupying forces during the war in ...any way. Senates consisting of five members held sessions in Ljubljana, Kranj, Novo Mesto, Celje, Maribor, Ptuj and Murska Sobota. In Novo Mesto, the first trial took place on 10 July, but the court ceased to operate as early as 14 July due to the dissatisfaction of the district committee of the Communist Party with the work of the jurist judges. The court treated the acts allegedly perpetrated by the accused very leniently and imposed fairly mild penalties. In nine trials, it sentenced 34 persons to the loss of national honour, 22 persons to light forced labour and six persons to a partial confiscation of property. After the court was abolished and a pardon was declared, the convicted were fully excused of forced labour. The legal implications of the penalty of the loss of national honour were limited to losing political and civil rights, including the right to vote. The penalty of property confiscation remained in effect.
The paper presents some of the most significant results of research on the so-called Pöhm music collections in Novo mesto (Ger. Rudolfswerth, Lat. Neostadium). P. Mauritius Pöhm, born in Bohemia in ...1745, was a Franciscan friar and organist. He was later active in several monasteries in the Slovenian and Croatian regions of the former Franciscan province of the Holy Cross, where he died in 1803. His Bohemian roots and his high reputation as a musician have led some scholars in the past to assume, first, that Pöhm played a decisive role in the formation of the musical repertory in Novo mesto during the second half of the eighteenth century, and, second, that he personally obtained numerous music manuscripts preserved in Novo mesto from Bohemia. Both conjectures have been re-examined in the course of the present research – with a view to discerning the real extent of the music in this repertory that can convincingly be linked to Pöhm personally, and also to establishing its geographical origin through a study of the paper on which the manuscripts were written.
The ritualization of helmets, along with fragmentation and hybridization, is a well-known fact in the wider area of South-Eastern Europe. It is apparent on the numerous examples of the helmets of the ...Illyrian type, interpreted in various contexts, for various purposes and in different ways. In the territory of Dolenjska (Slovenia), two Illyrian helmets of the type III A found in the grave VII/19 at Kapiteljska njiva in Novo Mesto present an exception. This is an exclusive double interment of the Eastern Alps region, both concerning its size and funerary construction, and the offerings consisting of warrior’s and equestrian equipment, ornaments and personal items, along with a set of bronze vessels and the first example of helmets of the Illyrian type among the communities of the Late Hallstatt circle in Dolenjska. The context of the grave may be dated into the second half of the 5th century and the beginning of the 4th century BC. The very choice of luxurious objects points to the state of the deceased and their immediate surrounding, ascribing to themselves the power (military, political, economic, ideological) through the practice of massive destruction during funerals. Such ritualization, deliberate destruction or damaging of objects became the ritual practice. As the “sacrifices” of an unique ritual protocol, the deliberate and violent ritualizations became a medium, and the symbolic manipulation of “cultural” proofs was a reflection of social dimensions of the living, i.e. precisely the communities of the Dolenjska Hallstatt society at its eastern frontiers.
Our study shows that technology transfer between Slovenian universities (or public research organisations) and Slovenian automotive industry is not sufficient. On one hand, technology transfer ...offices offer patented inventions for which automotive industry claims they have no value for them. On the other hand, the industry is seeking the help of (university) scientists to solve specific technical problems for inventions they propose and they could successfully commercialise, but unfortunately they often encounter unresponsiveness or rejection of their invitation. By conducting a focus group method where we confronted representatives of different groups, we have tried to find mutual solutions to this challenge. We claim that technology transfer offices have to be transformed in that way to attract direct industrial funding rather than purely focusing on commercialising results of ongoing research at universities or public research organisations.
U radu se donosi pregled dosadašnjih spoznaja o nastanku i formiranju narativnog zidnog ciklusa legende o sv. Ladislavu na prostoru Ugarsko Hrvatskog Kraljevstva, ujedno i srednjovjekovne Slavonije. ...U tom kontekstu obrađuju se dva hrvatska primjera: u kapeli sv. Petra u Novom Mestu Zelinskom te manji fragment ciklusa pronađen na župnoj crkvi sv. Augustina u Velikoj kod Požege. Oba primjera nastaju u 14. stoljeću, što ujedno i odgovara vremenu intenzivnijeg širenja i popularizacije legende u vidu zidnog narativnog ciklusa.
Veduto Novega mesta zaznamuje Kapiteljski hrib s stolno cerkvijo sv. Nikolaja.
The Second World War opened up the paths to the eliminationist plans of the Communist Party in its ambitions to take over power. The political underground consisted of a number of movements and ...individuals, all of whom collided on the question of the meaning and the form of resistance. Janko Komljanec was among the first politically staunchly aware priests in Lower Carniola designated by the Communist Party as a “national traitor” and thus someone who had to be effectively removed or eliminated before the actual outbreak of the civil war in the Ljubljana province. The process of annihilation simultaneously shows the mechanism of the originally local violence and its protagonists as well as an outline of the milieu that enabled (revolutionary) violence.
