The purpose of the paper was to identify the status of digital resources management in the central library of Allameh Tabatabae’i University based on the open Archival Information System(OAIS) ...reference Model template .The Methodology and approach was carried out in terms of the nature of the applied and case study method. The director and staff of the Central Library of Allameh Tabatabae’i University were research community. By reviewing the literature and resources available in relation to digital resource management, a six-part log is provided for this research. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics (calculating abundance, frequency and mean) and interpretation. The Findings was designed to determine the significance of the 6 subsystems of the OAIS model. Among them, the "subsystem of acceptance and processing" with 90%, the access subsystem with 81%, the subsystem of management with 70%, archiving storage subsystem "with 71%, data management subsystem with 59% , Maintenance and Maintenance Planning subsystem "with 52% percent respectively, was obtained for the digital resources management of the Central Digital Library of AllamehTabataba'i University.
PurposeThis paper presents results of a study on data managers' perspectives on the evolution of Designated Communities and the FAIR Principles using an example of a geological ...repository.Design/methodology/approachThe study employed 10 semi-structured interviews with data managers at a state geological survey and qualitative analysis of the interview transcripts.FindingsThe Designated Community for a collection in this data repository has evolved from petroleum industry users to include academic researchers and the public. This change was accompanied by significant user interaction changes from in-person, reference interview-style conversations to anonymous digital, automated interactions. The main factors driving these changes were developments in technology which allowed the data managers to shift data discovery and access into the online environment. The online data portal has seen increasing non-expert use, driving the data team to develop additional services for these new communities. Repository data team participants varied in their familiarity with the FAIR Principles and their perceptions of the FAIRness of the data in the repository.Research limitations/implicationsThe study was limited to one organization in the United States. However, the results are applicable to other data environments working through the tensions between high-level global frameworks such as FAIR, and continuing to serve the day-to-day needs of their designated communities. Continued work on how to assess success in this complex space is needed.Originality/valueThis paper lies at the nexus of two digital preservation frameworks and contributes to a limited extant literature providing guidance on implementing the concept of a Designated Community in practice.

The paper explores the strategies and methods for preserving Linked Open Data (LOD). To this aim it first presents an overview of the main scientific initiatives that have dealt with this topic. Then ...it describes some digital technologies that may result useful for preserving LOD, providing some insights on their application to LOD. It also provides a concrete example of implementation of the Semantic Web technologies for preserving Linked Data. Finally, it suggests some specific themes and directions that should be further investigated in order to elaborate a comprehensive solution to this problem: the preservation of Linked Open Data cannot be demanded to a single tool or method, it is rather the result of technical, organizational and procedural choices that altogether make up a consistent framework for LOD preservation. Medical research is an active field in which a wide range of information is collected, collated, combined and analyzed. Essential results are reported in publications, but it is often problematic to ...have the data (raw and processed), algorithms and tools associated with the publication available. The Leipzig Health Atlas (LHA) project has therefore set itself the goal of providing a repository for this purpose and enabling controlled access to it via a web-based portal. A data sharing concept in accordance to FAIR and OAIS is the basis for the processing and provision of data in the LHA. An IT architecture has been designed for this purpose. The paper presents essential aspects of the data sharing concept, the IT architecture and the methods used.
The Open Archive Information System reference model is a first solution for handling the big number of digital documents. With startext SORI we created a ready-to-use software, based on the OAIS ...model. So files get prepared for the future, but like every model, there are still aspects to improve.

The Common European Research Information Format (CERIF) has been developed as a flexible model for all kinds of research data. The focus has so-far been primarily on the construction of CRIS systems ...and inter-system data transfer. In the article we describe how the CERIF model can be used in the construction of an electronic archive. The advantage of basing the archive on CERIF is that an archive compliant to the FAIR guiding principles is easier to archive, in particular in areas concerning issues regarding findability, re-usability, and accessibility. In our example we represent the archive tree by cfProjects and the archived objects by cfResult* entities with their descriptive metadata given in attached CERIF entities. Archival preservation metadata is stored in the Premis format inside attached cfMeasurement entities. An example in which EPrints repository items are transferred to the archive is also presented.
Purpose
This paper aims to explore the curation of government-produced datasets for release as open government data (OGD) from the perspective of the digital curation and preservation concept of a ...“Designated Community”. Specifically, it explores how digital curation functions when there is no clear Designated Community to which curation services can be targeted.
Design/methodology/approach
The research was conducted through a case study of the City of Toronto’s efforts to revitalize their OGD program. Data was collected using three methods: semi-structured interviews, non-participative observation and document analysis.
Findings
The curators of OGD responded to the absence of a Designated Community through two complementary methods. The first was to draw from the discourse that defines the OGD domain. The second was to take a participatory approach that incorporated members of the community surrounding OGD and various other stakeholders into the process of developing a plan for the revitalization of the program.
Research limitations/implications
This study opens new directions for investigating the application of the Designated Community concept and its role in digital curation and preservation.
Practical implications
The approach used by OGD curators in this case has the potential to be used in other curation situations where there is no clearly defined user group.
Originality/value
The findings presented in this paper contribute empirical insights to on-going discussions on the concept of a Designated Community in digital curation and preservation.
