This essay attempts to assess whether the perceptual issues posed by the contemporary interface culture, and the constant attitude shift demanded by the new media between the "natural" and the "as ...if" modes, might be considered a significant challenge for phenomenological aesthetics as understood in terms of Merleau-Ponty's phenomenology of perception. To demonstrate how the use of a particular interface profoundly shapes the form and structure of an activity as well as enabling perception of a particular kind, the author does not focus directly on the state-of-the-art smart interfaces, but describes the experience of cycling in a large city, with the interface in the form of the bicycle upgraded with an imagined ride simulator. While the former enables a very particular entrance into the world of perception, shaped by its moderate speed and detachment from the ground, the latter enables techno-shaped perception in the "as if" screenic mode. The experience described raises questions concerning the kinaesthetic, proprioceptive and motor features contributing to the cyclist's mobile perception, as well as pointing to issues related to the reading of the city's network as a particular spatial configuration generated by the cyclist's realtime activity. This is the space-time-event-ridescape maintained and modified by the corporeal act of cycling. The spatiality of such a ride does not presume the notion of a space that contains the cyclist, but builds on notions of being-in-the-ridescape (as a kind of cityscape), in terms not only of full corporeal and mental engagement, but also of bodily literacy. The reading of the cityscape enabled by the combination of two interfaces, the bicycle and the ride simulator, is discussed in relation to de Certeau's account of pedestrian (walking) experience in a big city, his distinction between strategies and tactics, and the notion that each cyclist contributes a novel story to ridetext, which is viewed not as an aesthetic object but as the production of puzzles for the rider to solve. The paper concludes by questioning the capacity of phenomenology to accommodate the contemporary phenomenon of a "mixed" or "augmented reality" either in concept or in relation to the demands of the phenomenological reduction and the ends of the epoché.

Drugo razdoblje trajalo
Unutar svakoga razdoblja prepoznatljive
su: makrorazina (republička/državna), mezorazina (makroregionalna i regionalna) i
mikrorazina (lokalna).
Unatoč u planovima propagiranim težnjama za optimalnim i racionalnim gospodarenjem
naslijeđenih i novih konflikata u prostoru: od problema prevelike koncentracije
stanovništva i gospodarskih funkcija u priobalnim središtima, pogodovanja parcijalnim
interesima i kapitalu, prevelikoga zauzimanja prostora građevinskim područjima, te
objektima sekundarnoga stanovanja s velikim udjelom bespravne gradnje u priobalnom
pojasu, do nedovoljno osmišljenih razvojnih alternativa.
razini. Preduvjet održivoga prostornog razvoja jačanje je prostorno-planskih službi i
institucija, među ostalim stručnjacima različitih disciplina, kvalitetna izrada prostornoplanske
dokumentacije interdisciplinarnom suradnjom i, nadasve, primjena planskih
postavki strožim mehanizmima nadzora i sankcija.
Traditionally, suicide and depression (SD) have been viewed from a treatment point of view, i.e. what are the best steps to treat a suicidal or a depressed patient. These are usually related to the ...pharmacological treatment of depression. With the implementation of the European Green Paper on Mental Health (2005), and the development of Mental Health Pact (2008), the strategic importance of mental health promotion (MHP) and illness reduction as keystones of Europe-wide mental health policy and practice has never been greater. PROMISE (Promoting Mental Health Minimising Mental Illness and Integration through Education) is an international project, with the specific aim of developing and disseminating comprehensive training guidelines and model programmes for professionals working in health and social care. The present article describes the role of the University of Primorska: adapting the guidelines with regard to SD prevention and developing and implementing a model training programme in SD prevention. Added value was supplied through collaboration with European level health and social service professional bodies, university networks, civil society organizations and non-traditional actors to identify the needs of organisations that provide training in MHP. The project also took into account different countries' policy and legislation on MHP as well as best practice models; liaising with national governmental and non- -governmental organisations working in the area of SD; developing effective working relationships with the local mental health service users and organisations.
The Habsburg Monarchy carried out its first modern official population census in 1857. Since 1869, censuses were conducted every ten years with the critical date of 31 December. The censuses took ...into account the present population. From 1880 onwards, they also included a section on everyday language/language of communication, on the basis of which it was thenceforth possible to determine the national structure of the population in the country, even though the question thusly formulated did not yield accurate results. It was especially before the census of 1910 that the Slovenes and other Slavic nations in the monarchy demanded the elimination of the section on everyday language (lingua d'uso, Umgangssprache) and the introduction of a new section on nationality or mother tongue. The last Austrian population census of 1910 is a characteristic and important event from the political history of the Slovenes in the Austrian Littoral: characteristic because of the conduct of city authorities carrying out the census, and important because it represented a political victory of the Slavic population, after the established inaccuracies forced the authorities to order a revision of the census. Both the Yugoslav and Italian sides used the census of 1910 as evidence in setting their territorial claims during the peace negotiations after the First and Second World Wars.
This brochure was published for the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Paleontology and contains three contributions. The first and the second contribution describe two paleontological sites (of ...Upper Cretaceous dinosaurs and Upper Jurassic corals, respectively), that were visited during a field-trip organized on this occasion. The third contribution is a brief history of the institute.
