This study examines some important elements that constitute Christian counseling, centering on Jesus` conversation with the Samaritan woman in John 4. Faithfully examining the conversation of Jesus in the Bible must be a basic research for constructing evangelical Christian counseling. This study first analyzes the identity of the Samaritan woman and her needs. Based on this, it examines the purpose of Christian counseling, the basic attitudes of Christian counselors, strategies for change and process of Christian counseling. In the section of strategies for change, the study deals with the strategies of contact, empathic understanding, confrontation and induction into action. In the process of Christian counseling, this dialogue is compared to Gerald Egan`s nine-step counseling model. The researcher attempts a conversation between the Bible and counseling theories by employing the general principles and strategies of counseling as a framework of analysis. Through this work, the researcher finds that evangelical Christian counseling must be more strictly based on the Word of God. Also Christian counselors should be able to pick and choose among the general counseling principles and strategies based on the Bible. We believe in the sufficiency of the Word of God. Nonetheless, a serious academic performance will be able to contribute to discovery of more treasures from the mines of God`s Word.

OF THE MANY MEANINGS and metaphors attached to the rites of initiation, a central one remains to be examined: how did Christians in Dura-Europos imagine the descent, reception, or incarnation of the ...Holy Spirit?
In his study “Baptismal Patterns in Early Syria,” liturgical historian Bryan Spinks records a hunch about how Syrian Christians understood the connection between the ritual of anointing and the descent of the Holy Spirit at initiation.¹ What text or narrative would they have had in mind to lend meaning to the ritual? Previous scholars have usually looked to the baptismal accounts of Jesus himself, and indeed
EN The final degree s work involve the study of an unattributed picture which has a little format with the representation of the biblical passage Christ and the samaritan woman . The anonymous painter has respected with meticulously description, every givens that we can found in the literary sources about the landscape and the Sychar aparition, the Christ assertive conversation and the presence of the samaritan woman standing by the Jacob s water well side. The nameless painting has all the characteristics of the academicist period, but we couldn t get into the expertise and authorship study. Instead, the discovery of the three new paintings about the same graphic, technic and estetic characteristics, led us to hypothesize about a similar production for the painting which is present in this TFG. That s maybe, a model or a sketch for the production of the other three ones. In relation to this, we should supose that the painting was succeful at the time, making the author use this sketck in many ocasions. It s difficult specify a concret period of the picture, apart from the cronological description. However, attending the study of the artistic technic, the materials used and the frame, we set chronologically the piece around the last third of the s.XVIII or the s.XIX beginings. Within the conservative characteristics, the painting presents an a deficient state of conservation, showing a friability of the pictoric strata, apart from the structural deterioration of the woven. In the lower fringe, there are lacunas and pictoric losses crossing the face of the Christ, nevertheless they don t affect the narrative comprension in their totalily. By visual study, we can sense the no intervention of the painting since it were made. The initial cromatism as well as pigments vivacity, is been affected by the surface dirt and the barnish dim. Therefore, the cleaning process along with the cleaning protocol will be the most important parts to consider in the intervention proposal.

This paper investigates the question whether the Gospel of John treats women any differently from what was customary in ancient Israel and New Testament times. The first section deals with this ...aspect as comparative material. What follows is a systematic, albeit cursory treatment of the sections of the gospel where women feature in the text. Feminist theology is not a vital part of the discussion but is treated as a phenomenon seeking to secure itself in Scripture passages.
