The article analyzes the various concepts of space in Cankar's drama: the place of writing and its echoes in dramatic texts, theatrical space and the conventions of dramatic writing connected with ...it, and the structure of dramatic space as regards the interpretation of individual dramatic texts. Cankar rejected closet dramas intended only to be read; an analysis of dramatic texts shows he envisioned theatre's visual, spatial dimension.
In this article, I present a new strategy for researching stage speech based upon a specific protocol of steps. Developed through a comprehensive study of stage speech investigating breakthrough ...stagings of Ivan Cankar's drama Hlapci (Eng. The Bondsmen or The Servants) during the last fifty years, the strategy approaches the research of stage speech in a way that is objective (using a combination of audio perception and computer-assisted phonetic analysis) and interdisciplinary (including theatre studies, sociology, and other fields alongside phonetics), while considering the integration of stage speech into directorial concept and its integration with other staging factors (e.g., scenography, mise-en-scene, costumes, music, movement).
Do druge svetovne vojne so v srbščino večinoma prevajali Cankarjevo kratko pripovedno prozo. Prvi prevajalci Cankarjevih del so bili študenti profesorja jugoslovanske književnosti na beograjski ...univerzi Pavla Popovića: Miloš Ivković, Uroš Džonić, Ljubica Janković in Božidar Kovačević. Avtorji srbskih prevodov so bili tudi Slovenci (Vladislav Fabjančič, Tone Potokar) in Hrvat Niko Bartulović. Profesorja Pavla Popoviča in njegove študente je s Cankarjem povezovala težnja po združitvi jugoslovanskih narodov. Srbi so začeli prevajati Cankarjeva dela še v času njegovega življenja, tako da je število njegovih prevedenih del in ponatisov veliko. V literaturi je malo podatkov o zgodnejših srbskih prevodih (Vučenov 1977: 270) in o prvih prevajalcih.
This article analyses the gendered censorship of male writers towards the poetics and writing of Vida Jeraj (1875–1932), the most prominent Slovenian female lyrical poet of the late nineteenth and ...early twentieth centuries and a member of the new wave of Slovenian women writers associated with the Trieste-based publication Slovenka. This case study demonstrates the immense difficulty, if not impossibility, for a woman from a small, conservative patriarchal society on the outskirts of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to become a poet and introduce new poetics and new imagination. This was due not only to patriarchal society in general, but also to the gendered censorship of Jeraj’s male colleagues and friends. We aim to analyse the gendered discourse with its misogynistic characteristics evident in the correspondence between the poet and male authors during her early period of writing, which had a profound impact on her poetic strategies. Two male critics in particular had a great influence on her style and shaped her poetic career: her friend Josip Murn-Aleksandrov (1879–1901), the impressionist poet of the Slovenian “moderna” literary movement; and Anton Aškerc (1856–1912), the most important and celebrated Slovenian poet of the older generation and the editor of the Slovenian newspaper Ljubljanski zvon. This male censorship also meant that the young poet was forced to self-censor, as her writer’s identity was very fragile. This was one of the reasons why her voice eventually fell silent.
Članek obravnava vprašanje izbire jezikovnega koda pri slovenskih literarnih ustvarjalcih v Italiji. Tudi pri tej manjšinski skupnosti, podobno kot pri Slovencih na avstrijskem Koroškem, lahko ...opazimo premik pri izbiri jezika, saj se nekateri odločajo za pisanje v svojem drugem jeziku oz. jeziku okolja ali za dvojezično oz. translingvalno pisanje. V članku avtorica ta pojav poveže s psiholingvističnimi teorijami o čustvenih vidikih izbire jezikovnega koda, ki dokazujejo, da obstajajo različne stopnje čustvenega doživljanja jezika, na katerega seveda vplivajo zelo različni (tako notranji kot zunanji) dejavniki. Ker je odzivov na literarni večjezični pojav precej in ker sami avtorji v različnih oblikah utemeljujejo svojo izbiro, jo želi prispevek na podlagi ugotovitev psihologije večjezičnega govorca uokviriti in razložiti na primeru slovenskih avtorjev v Italiji.
Razprava obravnava dobro znano zgodbo o Prešernovi poeziji in Šenoovi avtobiografski noveli Karamfil sa pjesnikova groba (1878), a vanjo vstopa z nove perspektive. Po eni strani zasleduje ...transformacijo gorske krajine v mitski kraj slovenstva, ki je potekala v starejši slovenski poeziji, hkrati pa Šenoovo nacionalno »spreobrnitev« obravnava v širšem kontekstu evropskega kulturnega nacionalizma in komemorativnih kultov pesnikov.
V članku s primerjalno analizo recepcij dveh nacionalnih pesnitev, Prešernovega Krsta pri Savici in Máchovega Maja, ugotavljamo, v čem sta si bila podobna in kako sta se razlikovala procesa ...kanonizacije teh dveh del, ki sta v obdobju narodnih preporodov v 19. stoletju zasedli podobni mesti v češki in slovenski nacionalni literaturi. Primerjamo, kako so se skozi pisemsko, kritiško in literarno recepcijo spreminjali pogledi na deli od prve objave (1836) do tedaj, ko sta bili sprejeti v nacionalni literarni kanon.
V prispevku je obravnavana tema prve svetovne vojne in takrat živečih ter delujočih umetnikov. S podano vsebino je predstavljen najplodnejši slovenski pisatelj Ivan Cankar in njegovo zadnje delo ...Podobe iz sanj (1981), katere uvrščamo zaradi dodanih likovnih stvaritev na področje medmedialnosti, natančneje k literarno-likovnim kombinacijam.
This article focuses on Cankar's novel Gospa Judit, exploring the connection between the text's main innovations and its inherent fragments of Nietzschean philosophy. These innovations-i.e., ...syncretism of genres, essayisation (discursivity), interweaving of two first-person narrators, a female protagonist, as well as an evaluative criterion or satirical polemic, and autobiography as the main poetical principle-were examined from the perspective of the nuclei of Nietzsche's philosophy: morality, will to power, individuality, autobiographicality, and yearning. A Nietzschean approach of adopting a moral framework is analysed as a critique of the nation's morality, while the will to power is perceived as a trait of a distinct individuality or autobiography. Finally, the work is analysed as the mirror of society.
