El propósito de este artículo es analizar la percepción que la jerarquía católica tuvo de los problemas inherentes a la fascistización del régimen entre 1937 y 1945. Los contenciosos librados en los ...diferentes ámbitos del Estado nos pueden ayudar a comprender la realidad de este proceso, más allá de la retórica que lo animó. Se pretende demostrar la importancia que tuvo la labor política de la Iglesia para facilitar o dificultar el acceso al poder del fascismo autóctono, y su peso en la configuración de la dictadura franquista hasta el final de la Guerra Mundial.
The pontificate of pope Francis has brought about a new momentum, an acceler-ation of the dynamics of the ecclesial conversation, and the Synod on synodality (2021-2024) is the culmination of this ...acceleration. At the same time, it is not clear yet whether Francis wants to bring this movement to a conclusion or if it will re-main open in a process. This article gives some historical-institutional perspectives that are important for comprehending the contours of this question central to Fran-cis’ pontificate but also for the Catholic Church in the 21st century.

El libro La Iglesia en el Perú de Jeffrey Klaiber S. J. es una obra de consulta necesaria para el estudio de la historia de la Iglesia católica en el Perú republicano. Como homenaje a Jeffrey ...Klaiber, los autores analizan las bases eclesiológicas de la narrativa histórica de este libro y resaltan la influencia del proceso de recepción del Concilio Vaticano II (1962-1965) mediado por las Conferencias Generales del Episcopado Latinoamericano de Medellín (1968) y Puebla (1979). El artículo aplica este análisis a la división temporal de la obra de Klaiber, que distingue entre el siglo XIX, la primera mitad del siglo XX y la recepción conciliar entre 1955 y 1985. Se relevan los aportes de la obra de Klaiber, las limitaciones y las perspectivas que abrió para la investigación posterior sobre el catolicismo peruano.

L’articolo si interroga sul rapporto tra la Roma tardo cinquecentesca e la natura di un Oriente estremo, a partire dal caso dell’arrivo nella città di un esemplare femminile di un raro volatile, ...troppo rapidamente battezzato dal medico pontificio Michele Mercati Avis Japonica. In un primo tempo, la riflessione si concentra sulla presenza e il significato di questo uccello all’interno del mondo epistemologico e geopolitico che Mercati definisce dal Vaticano tra lo spazio di un museo e le pagine di un libro che portano entrambi il nome di Metallotheca. Quindi, seguendo le tracce di altri uccelli che presentavano caratteristiche identiche all’Avis detta Japonica tra le historiae, le rappresentazioni e le collezioni naturalistiche dell’Europa del tempo, l’analisi si sofferma sulle difficoltà e le implicazioni epistemologiche, simboliche e politiche che lo studio della natura di mondi lontani poteva assumere nella Roma dei papi.

El punto de partida del artículo es la periodización de la recepción del Vaticano II en cinco etapas. Primera etapa (1965‑1985): desde la clausura del Vaticano II hasta el Sínodo extraordinario de ...los Obispos de 1985 con la afirmación de la eclesiología de comunión. La segunda etapa (1985‑2005) estuvo presidida por el debate entre la interpretación del Concilio como acontecimiento (Historia del Vaticano II dirigida por G. Alberigo) y la interpretación del Concilio como texto constitucional de la fe (Theologischer Kommentar dirigido por P. Hünermann). La tercera etapa coincide con el pontificado de Benedicto XVI (2005‑2013), que propuso la hermenéutica de la reforma dando lugar a la batalla de las interpretaciones entre continuidad y discontinuidad del Vaticano II, con el debate sostenido por los tradicionalistas y los partidarios de la renovación dentro de la tradición. En este periodo vieron la luz las significativas obras del historiador J. W. O’Malley (What Happened at Vatican II?) y del teólogo C. Theobald (La réception du Concile Vatican II). Una cuarta fase se sitúa entre 2012‑2015, años que enmarcan la celebración del quincuagésimo aniversario de la inauguración y de la clausura del Concilio. Finalmente, una quinta etapa corresponde al efecto Francisco, cuyo pontificado bien puede significar el comienzo de una nueva fase de la recepción conciliar. El documento programático, Evangelii gaudium (2013), es una interpretación original del Vaticano II en el marco de una Iglesia sinodal.
Pope Francis calls the church to greater synodality to build up practices of communion, participation, and mission at every level of the church’s life. Proponents of synodality often interpret ...Vatican I’s definition of papal primacy as an obstacle to the synodal path. Recent scholarship, however, suggests ways that Vatican I need not present a stumbling block; rather, when properly contextualized and interpreted, Pastor Aeternus has the potential to illumine the inherent dynamism between primacy and synodality. This study explores how fresh approaches to Vatican I and synodality can direct us to more responsive ecclesial structures in the diverse and changing church of today.
