Since 2010, the WeNMR project (
www.wenmr.eu
) has implemented numerous web-based services to facilitate the use of advanced computational tools by researchers in the field, using the high throughput computing infrastructure provided by EGI. These services have been further developed in subsequent initiatives under H2020 projects and are now operating as Thematic Services in the European Open Science Cloud portal (
www.eosc-portal.eu
), sending >12 millions of jobs and using around 4,000 CPU-years per year. Here we review 10 years of successful e-infrastructure solutions serving a large worldwide community of over 23,000 users to date, providing them with user-friendly, web-based solutions that run complex workflows in structural biology. The current set of active WeNMR portals are described, together with the complex backend machinery that allows distributed computing resources to be harvested efficiently.
Increasing numbers of organizations have set up material on their Web portals as a way of providing users with information about their products or services. This study developed and validated an ...instrument to measure user perceived service quality of such portals. Based upon conceptual models in the areas of IS and technology adoption, and using responses from 1992 users, we validated a five-dimension service quality instrument involving: usability, usefulness of content, adequacy of information, accessibility, and interaction. This scale provides a useful instrument for researchers who wish to measure the service quality of Web portals and for portal managers who want to improve their service performance. The Google Earth Engine (GEE) portal provides enhanced opportunities for undertaking earth observation studies. Established towards the end of 2010, it provides access to satellite and other ...ancillary data, cloud computing, and algorithms for processing large amounts of data with relative ease. However, the uptake and usage of the opportunity remains varied and unclear. This study was undertaken to investigate the usage patterns of the Google Earth Engine platform and whether researchers in developing countries were making use of the opportunity. Analysis of published literature showed that a total of 300 journal papers were published between 2011 and June 2017 that used GEE in their research, spread across 158 journals. The highest number of papers were in the journal Remote Sensing, followed by Remote Sensing of Environment. There were also a number of papers in premium journals such as Nature and Science. The application areas were quite varied, ranging from forest and vegetation studies to medical fields such as malaria. Landsat was the most widely used dataset; it is the biggest component of the GEE data portal, with data from the first to the current Landsat series available for use and download. Examination of data also showed that the usage was dominated by institutions based in developed nations, with study sites mainly in developed nations. There were very few studies originating from institutions based in less developed nations and those that targeted less developed nations, particularly in the African continent.
This longitudinal study investigates factors influencing undergraduates' prior, current, and continued use of a university library Web portal using a credit-bearing course infused with information ...literacy (IL) components as an intervention. Applying a mixed methods approach and using the technology acceptance and information systems success models as theoretical foundations, the authors examined direct influences of user satisfaction, voluntariness, and competing resources on portal usage, as well as relationships among current use, user satisfaction, and continued use. The results indicated that the positive effect of user satisfaction on use increased and the unfavorable impact of voluntariness of use became non-significant after the intervention. Yet, the significant negative impact of competing resources on portal use remained unchanged. Additionally, current use had a significant positive relationship with user satisfaction which led to continued use. The outcomes signify that integrating IL components into credit courses could be a strategy to facilitate library portal use.

The manufacturing industry is facing the impact of a dynamic market and intensive competition. Many companies are looking for a new approach to improve their business activities in a collaborative business ecosystem with other stakeholders. Cloud computing enables the sharing of manufacturing resources and capabilities between different stakeholders to support business and physical production. The purpose of this research is to explore approaches moving towards a cloud manufacturing ecosystem and present possible implications for practice. To fulfil the research objectives, a multiple-case study was conducted within sheet metal manufacturing companies. Business and technology related requirements for cloud-based collaborative manufacturing portals were collected through interviews with industrial practitioners from the sheet metal manufacturing perspective. Based on analysis a prototype model of a CloudEcosystem was presented to demonstrate the essential features of the portals. This research found that there are three different portal types for cloud manufacturing ecosystems depending on the value chain configuration. Close to real-time information provided by cloud-based platforms can create manufacturing ecosystems where machine owners, product designers and customers may collaborate and compete simultaneously. The CloudEcosystem designed in this research can provide a practical tool and technical solution to help manufacturers think about moving towards cloud manufacturing ecosystems.

Los sitios y las aplicaciones web, así como los portales, en la actualidad se han convertido en una necesidad primordial para las empresas, ya que les permiten entregar información actualizada a sus ...clientes y además gestionar toda esa información haciéndola accesible a la persona que la necesita. El grupo empresarial ASTRO necesita un sistema informático que logre hacer pública su imagen como grupo empresarial, que además gestione y de a conocer los procesos más importantes que allí se desarrollan. En el presente documento se exponen argumentos para demostrar que ante la situación problémica dada, ASTRO requiere de un portal digital que solucione su problématica. Además, se realizó un estudio comparativo acerca de las tendencias y tecnologías existentes en la actualidad para el desarrollo de aplicaciones web, seleccionándose las más apropiadas para la elaboración de la solución propuesta. Para el eficiente desarrollo de dicho sistema se siguieron los pasos que propone RUP, por lo que este trabajo contiene los principales resultados obtenidos de los flujos de trabajo de Requisitos, Análisis, Diseño e Implementación.
The long COVID-19 pandemic has limited the activities of Ruang Publik Terpadu Ramah Anak (RPTRA) such as environment cleaning, repair of RPTRA infrastructure, learning and others, as well as the lack ...of public awareness about the existence and importance of RPTRA to the public and foreign tourists encouraging the RPTRA to make changes in the dissemination of information about the activities carried out in the RPTRA through the use of technology to survive and grow even during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The methodology used in this research is Group Discussion Forum with the administrators of the RPTRA Maya ASRI 13 to learn about the needs and expectations of the RPTRA administrators regarding the web portal to be built. Then, the implementation of the conceptual model, development, and evaluation of the effectiveness of the RPTRA information web portal was carried out. The contribution in this research is to implement a conceptual model on the information portal built on the platform of the Website with the PHP framework, which is then evaluated on the results of the pre-test and post-test about RPTRA the Wilcoxon-Signed Rank Test to test the effectiveness of the information web portal for general users. The results obtained from these tests indicate that the RPTRA Information Web Portal can help the public learn more about the existence of RPTRA Maya Asri 13.
The aim of this study discusses the gap between the patient web portal and providing a full radiology report. A literature review was conducted to examine radiologists, physicians, and patients' ...opinions and preferences of providing patients with online access radiology reports. The databases searched were Pubmed and Google Scholar and the initial search included 927 studies. After review, 47 studies were included in the study. We identified several themes, including patients' understanding of radiology reports and radiological images, as well as the need for decreasing the turnaround time for reports availability. The existing radiology reports written for physicians are not suited for patients. Further studies are needed to guide and inform the design of patient friendly radiology reports. One of the ways that can be used to fill the gap between patients and radiology reports is using social media sites.

In this paper, we propose a gamification approach as a novel framework for smart building infrastructure with the goal of motivating human occupants to consider personal energy usage and to have positive effects on their environment. Human interaction in the context of cyber-physical systems is a core component and consideration in the implementation of any smart building technology. Research has shown that the adoption of human-centric building services and amenities leads to improvements in the operational efficiency of these cyber-physical systems directed toward controlling building energy usage. We introduce a strategy that incorporates humans-in-the-loop modeling by creating an interface to allow building managers to interact with occupants and potentially incentivize energy efficient behavior. Game theoretic analysis typically relies on the assumption that the utility function of each individual agent is known a priori. Instead, we propose a novel benchmark utility learning framework that employs robust estimations of occupant actions toward energy efficiency. To improve forecasting performance, we extend the benchmark utility learning scheme by leveraging Deep Learning end-to-end training with deep bi-directional Recurrent Neural Networks. We apply the proposed methods to high-dimensional data from a social game experiment designed to encourage energy efficient behavior among smart building occupants. Using data gathered from occupant actions for resources such as room lighting, we forecast patterns of resource usage to demonstrate the performance of the proposed methods on ground truth data. The results of our study show that we can achieve a highly accurate representation of the ground truth for occupant resource usage.
